¹⁵ Notwithstanding the wall was finished on the fiue and twentieth day of Elul, in two and fiftie dayes.

¹⁵ And this house was finished the thirde day of the moneth Adar, which was the sixt yeere of the reigne of King Darius.

¹ But when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, then was he wroth and sore grieued, and mocked the Iewes, ² And sayde before his brethren and the armie of Samaria, thus he sayde, What doe these weake Iewes? wil they fortifie them selues? wil they sacrifice? will they finish it in a day? will they make the stones whole againe out of the heapes of dust, seeing they are burnt?

³ For he shall be like a tree planted by the riuers of waters, that will bring foorth her fruite in due season: whose leafe shall not fade: so whatsoeuer he shall doe, shall prosper.

²⁵ Knowe therefore and vnderstande, that from the going foorth of the commandement to bring againe the people, and to builde Ierusalem, vnto Messiah the prince, shall be seuen weekes and threescore and two weekes, and the streete shalbe built againe, and the wall euen in a troublous time.
