¹⁴ My God, remember thou Tobiah, and Sanballat according vnto these their workes, and Noadiah the Prophetesse also, and the rest of the Prophets that would haue put me in feare.

²² And he sayd, I will goe out, and be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. Then he sayd, Thou shalt entise him, and shalt also preuayle: goe forth, and doe so. ²³ Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirite in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath appoynted euill against thee. ²⁴ Then Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah on the cheeke and sayd, When went the Spirite of the Lord from me, to speake vnto thee?

⁴ Heare, O our God (for we are despised) and turne their shame vpon their owne head, and giue them vnto a pray in the lande of their captiuitie, ⁵ And couer not their iniquitie, neither let their sinne be put out in thy presence: for they haue prouoked vs before the builders.

¹⁹ Remember me, O my God, in goodnesse, according to all that I haue done for this people.

²⁹ Remember them, O my God, that defile the Priesthoode, and the couenant of the Priesthoode, and of the Leuites.

¹¹ Let not ye foote of pride come against me, and let not the hand of ye wicked men moue me. ¹² There they are fallen that worke iniquity: they are cast downe, and shall not be able to rise.

¹ A Psalme of David. When he was in the wildernesse of Judah. O God, thou art my God, earely will I seeke thee: my soule thirsteth for thee: my flesh longeth greatly after thee in a barren and drye land without water.

⁵ The proude haue layde a snare for me, and spred a nette with cordes in my pathway, and set grennes for me. Selah. ⁹ As for the chiefe of them, that compasse me about, let the mischiefe of their owne lippes come vpon them. ¹⁰ Let coles fal vpon them: let him cast them into the fire, and into the deepe pits, that they rise not. ¹¹ For the backbiter shall not be established vpon the earth: euill shall hunt the cruell man to destruction.

¹⁴ Therefore will the Lord cut off from Israel head and taile, branche and rush in one day. ¹⁵ The ancient and the honorable man, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the taile.

²⁰ But O Lord of hostes, that iudgest righteously, and triest the reines and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for vnto thee haue I opened my cause. ²¹ The Lord therefore speaketh thus of the men of Anathoth, (that seeke thy life, and say, Prophecie not in the Name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hands) ²² Thus therefore sayth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will visite them: the yong men shall die by the sword: their sonnes and their daughters shall die by famine, ²³ And none of them shall remaine: for I will bring a plague vpon the men of Anathoth, euen the yeere of their visitation.

¹⁵ Therefore thus saith the Lord, Concerning the prophets that prophecie in my Name, whom I haue not sent, yet they say, Sworde and famine shall not be in this land, by sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.

¹⁸ For if I go into the field, behold the slaine with the sworde: and if I enter into the citie, behold them that are sicke for hunger also: moreouer the Prophet also and the Priest go a wandring into a land that they know not.

²⁰ Shall euill be recompensed for good? for they haue digged a pit for my soule: remember that I stood before thee, to speake good for the, and to turne away thy wrath from them. ²¹ Therefore, deliuer vp their children to famine, and let them drop away by the force of the sworde, and let their wiues be robbed of their children, and be widowes: and let their husbands be put to death, and let their yong men be slayne by the sword in the battell. ²² Let the crye bee heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring an hoste suddenly vpon them: for they haue digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feete. ²³ Yet Lord thou knowest al their counsel against me tendeth to death: forgiue not their iniquitie, neither put out their sinne from thy sight, but let them be ouerthrowen before thee: deale thus with them in the time of thine anger.

¹ And that same yeere in the beginning of the reigne of Zedekiah King of Iudah in the fourth yeere, and in the fifth moneth Hananiah the sonne of Azur the prophet, which was of Gibeon, spake to mee in the House of the Lord in the presence of the Priestes, and of all the people, and said,

¹⁰ Then Hananiah the Prophet tooke the yoke from the Prophet Ieremiahs necke, and brake it.

¹⁵ Then sayd the Prophet Ieremiah vnto the Prophet Hananiah, Heare nowe Hananiah, the Lord hath not sent thee, but thou makest this people to trust in a lye.

¹⁶ To wit, the Prophets of Israel, which prophesie vpon Ierusalem, and see visions of peace for it, and there is no peace, sayth the Lord God. ¹⁷ Likewise thou sonne of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesie out of their owne heart: and prophesie thou against them, and say,

¹⁵ Beware of false prophets, which come to you, in sheepes clothing, but inwardly they are rauening wolues.

¹¹ And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceiue many.

²⁴ For there shall arise false Christes, and false prophets, and shall shewe great signes and wonders, so that if it were possible, they should deceiue the very elect.

⁸ And as Iannes and Iambres withstoode Moses, so doe these also resist the trueth, men of corrupt mindes, reprobate concerning the faith.

¹⁴ Alexander the coppersmith hath done me much euill: the Lord rewarde him according to his workes. ¹⁵ Of whome be thou ware also: for he withstoode our preaching sore.

¹⁶ If any man see his brother sinne a sinne that is not vnto death, let him aske, and he shall giue him life for them that sinne not vnto death. There is a sinne vnto death: I say not that thou shouldest pray for it.

²⁰ But ye beast was taken, and with him that false prophet that wrought miracles before him, whereby he deceiued them that receiued ye beastes marke, and them that worshipped his image. These both were aliue cast into a lake of fire, burning with brimstone.
