²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, haue we not by thy Name prophecied? and by thy name cast out deuils? and by thy name done many great workes?

⁴ He hath sayde, which heard the wordes of God, and sawe the vision of the Almightie, and falling in a traunce had his eyes opened:

⁸ They slue also the Kings of Midian among them that were slaine: Eui and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur and Reba fiue kings of Midian, and they slue Balaam the sonne of Beor with the sworde:

¹¹ And Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayd, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites, vntill thou hast consumed them. ¹² And all the prophets prophecied so, saying, Goe vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the Kings hand. ¹³ And the messenger that was gone to call Michaiah spake vnto him, saying, Beholde now, the wordes of the prophets declare good vnto the King with one accorde: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like the worde of one of them, and speake thou good. ¹⁴ And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer the Lord sayth vnto me, that will I speake. ¹⁵ So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall we leaue off? And he answered him, Goe vp, and prosper: and the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King. ¹⁶ And the King said vnto him, How oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the Name of the Lord? ¹⁷ Then he said, I sawe all Israel scattered vpon the mountaines, as sheepe that had no shepheard. And the Lord sayde, These haue no master, let euery man returne vnto his house in peace. ¹⁸ (And the King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would prophecie no good vnto me, but euill?) ¹⁹ Againe he said, Heare thou therefore the worde of the Lord. I sawe the Lord sit on his throne, and all the hoste of heauen stood about him on his right hand and on his left hand. ²⁰ And the Lord sayd, Who shall entise Ahab that he may go and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one said on this maner, and another sayd on that maner.

¹¹ The hie looke of man shall be humbled, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord onely shall be exalted in that day.

¹⁷ And the hautinesse of men shalbe brought low, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord shall onely be exalted in that day.

¹³ And I haue seene foolishnesse in the prophets of Samaria, that prophecied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to erre. ¹⁴ I haue seene also in the prophets of Ierusalem filthines: they commit adulterie and walke in lies: they strengthen also the hands of the wicked that none can returne from his wickednesse: they are all vnto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorah. ¹⁵ Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes concerning the prophets, Beholde, I will feede them with wormewood, and make them drinke the water of gall: for from the prophets of Ierusalem is wickednesse gone forth into all the lande. ¹⁶ Thus sayth ye Lord of hosts, Heare not the wordes of the prophets that prophecie vnto you, and teach you vanitie: they speake the vision of their owne heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord. ¹⁷ They say still vnto them that despise mee, The Lord hath sayde, Ye shall haue peace: and they say vnto euery one that walketh after the stubbernesse of his owne heart, No euill shall come vpon you. ¹⁸ For who hath stand in the counsel of the Lord that he hath perceiued and heard his word? Who hath marked his worde and heard it? ¹⁹ Beholde, the tempest of the Lord goeth forth in his wrath, and a violent whirlewinde shall fall downe vpon the head of the wicked. ²⁰ The anger of the Lord shall not returne vntill he haue executed, and till he haue perfourmed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter dayes ye shall vnderstande it plainely. ²¹ I haue not sent these prophets, sayth the Lord, yet they ranne; I haue not spoken to them, and yet they prophecied. ²² But if they had stande in my counsell, and had declared my words to my people, then they should haue turned them from their euill way, and from the wickednesse of their inuentions. ²³ Am I a God at hande, saith the Lord, and not a God farre off? ²⁴ Can any hide him selfe in secrete places, that I shall not see him, sayth the Lord? Do not I fill heauen and earth, saieth the Lord? ²⁵ I haue heard what the prophets said, that prophecie lies in my Name, saying, I haue dreamed, I haue dreamed. ²⁶ Howe long? Doe the prophets delite to prophecie lies, euen prophecying the deceit of their owne heart? ²⁷ Thinke they to cause my people to forget my Name by their dreames, which they tell euery man to his neyghbour, as their forefathers haue forgotten my Name for Baal? ²⁸ The prophet that hath a dreame, let him tell a dreame, and hee that hath my worde, let him speake my worde faithfully: what is the chaffe to the wheate, sayth the Lord? ²⁹ Is not my word euen like a fire, sayeth the Lord? and like an hammer, that breaketh the stone? ³⁰ Therefore beholde, I will come against the prophets, saieth the Lord, that steale my word euerie one from his neighbour. ³¹ Beholde, I will come against the prophets, saith the Lord, which haue sweete tongues, and say, He saith. ³² Beholde, I will come against them that prophecie false dreames, saith the Lord, and doe tell them, and cause my people to erre by their lies, and by their flatteries, and I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they bring no profite vnto this people, saith the Lord.

¹⁷ And they shall be to me, sayeth the Lord of hostes, in that day that I shall do this, for a flocke, and I will spare them, as a man spareth his owne sonne that serueth him. ¹⁸ Then shall you returne, and discerne betweene the righteous and wicked, betweene him that serueth God, and him that serueth him not.

²¹ Not euery one that sayeth vnto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdome of heauen, but he that doeth my Fathers will which is in heauen.

⁵ These twelue did Iesus send forth, and commanded them, saying, Goe not into the way of of the Gentiles, and into the cities of the Samaritans enter yee not: ⁶ But goe rather to the lost sheepe of the house of Israel. ⁷ And as ye goe, preach, saying, The kingdome of heauen is at hand. ⁸ Heale the sicke: cleanse the lepers: raise vp the dead: cast out the deuils. Freely ye haue receiued, freely giue.

¹⁵ Truely I say vnto you, it shall be easier for them of the lande of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of iudgement, then for that citie.

³⁶ But of that day and houre knoweth no man, no not the Angels of heauen, but my father only.

¹¹ Afterwards came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to vs.

¹² For I say to you, that it shall be easier in that day for them of Sodom, then for that citie.

²⁵ When the good man of the house is risen vp, and hath shut to the doore, and ye begin to stand without, and to knocke at the doore, saying, Lord, Lord, open to vs, and he shall answere and say vnto you, I know you not whence ye are, ²⁶ Then shall ye begin to say, We haue eaten and drunke in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streetes. ²⁷ But he shall say, I tell you, I knowe you not whence ye are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquitie.

⁵¹ This spake hee not of himselfe: but being hie Priest that same yere, he prophecied that Iesus should die for that nation:

¹³ Then certaine of the vagabond Iewes, exorcistes, tooke in hand to name ouer them which had euil spirits, the Name of the Lord Iesus, saying, We adiure you by Iesus, whom Paul preacheth. ¹⁴ (And there were certaine sonnes of Sceua a Iewe, the Priest, about seuen which did this) ¹⁵ And the euil spirit answered, and said, Iesus I acknowledge, and Paul I know: but who are ye?

¹ Though I speake with the tongues of men and Angels, and haue not loue, I am as sounding brasse, or a tinkling cymbal. ² And though I had the gift of prophecie, and knewe all secrets and all knowledge, yea, if I had all faith, so that I could remooue mountaines and had not loue, I were nothing.

⁴ But ye, brethren, are not in darkenes, that that day shall come on you, as it were a thiefe.

¹⁰ When he shall come to be glorified in his Saints, and to be made marueilous in all them that beleeue ( because our testimonie toward you was beleeued) in that day.

¹² For the which cause I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed: for I knowe whom I haue beleeued, and I am persuaded that he is able to keepe that which I haue committed to him against that day.

¹⁸ The Lord graunt vnto him, that he may finde mercie with the Lord at that day, and in how many things he hath ministred vnto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

⁸ For hence foorth is laide vp for me the crowne of righteousnesse, which the Lord the righteous iudge shall giue me at that day: and not to me onely, but vnto all them also that loue that his appearing.

⁴ For it is impossible that they which were once lightened, and haue tasted of the heauenly gift, and were made partakers of the holy Ghost, ⁵ And haue tasted of the good word of God, and of the powers of the world to come, ⁶ If they fal away, should be renued againe by repentance: seeing they crucifie againe to themselues the Sonne of God, and make a mocke of him.
