¹⁵ Let death sense vpon them: let them goe downe quicke into the graue: for wickednes is in their dwellings, euen in the middes of them.

²³ And thou, O God, shalt bring them downe into the pitte of corruption: the bloudie, and deceitfull men shall not liue halfe their dayes: but I will trust in thee.

⁶ Set thou the wicked ouer him, and let the aduersarie stand at his right hand. ⁷ Whe he shalbe iudged, let him be condemned, and let his praier be turned into sinne. ⁸ Let his daies be fewe, and let another take his charge. ⁹ Let his children be fatherlesse, and his wife a widowe. ¹⁰ Let his children be vagabonds and beg and seeke bread, comming out of their places destroyed. ¹¹ Let the extortioner catch al that he hath, and let the strangers spoile his labour. ¹² Let there be none to extend mercie vnto him: neither let there be any to shewe mercie vpon his fatherlesse children. ¹³ Let his posteritie be destroied, and in the generation following let their name be put out. ¹⁴ Let the iniquitie of his fathers bee had in remembrance with the Lord: and let not the sinne of his mother be done away. ¹⁵ But let them alway be before the Lord, that he may cut off their memorial from ye earth. ¹⁶ Because he remembred not to shew mercie, but persecuted the afflicted and poore man, and the sorowfull hearted to slay him. ¹⁷ As he loued cursing, so shall it come vnto him, and as he loued not blessing, so shall it be farre from him. ¹⁸ As he clothed himselfe with cursing like a rayment, so shall it come into his bowels like water, and like oyle into his bones. ¹⁹ Let it be vnto him as a garment to couer him, and for a girdle, wherewith he shalbe alway girded.

⁵ The Lord God hath opened mine eare and I was not rebellious, neither turned I backe. ⁶ I gaue my backe vnto the smiters, and my cheekes to the nippers: I hidde not my face from shame and spitting.

¹ Who will beleeue our report? and to whom is the arme of the Lord reueiled? ² But hee shall growe vp before him as a branche, and as a roote out of a dry grounde: he hath neither forme nor beautie: when we shall see him, there shall be no forme that wee should desire him. ³ He is despised and reiected of men: he is a man full of sorowes and hath experience of infirmities: we hidde as it were our faces from him: he was despised and we esteemed him not. ⁴ Surely hee hath borne our infirmities, and caried our sorowes: yet wee did iudge him, as plagued, and smitten of God, and humbled. ⁵ But hee was wounded for our transgressions, hee was broken for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was vpon him, and with his stripes we are healed. ⁶ All we like sheepe haue gone astraye: wee haue turned euery one to his owne way, and the Lord hath layed vpon him the iniquitie of vs all. ⁷ Hee was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet did he not open his mouth: hee is brought as a sheepe to the slaughter, and as a sheepe before her shearer is dumme, so he openeth not his mouth. ⁸ Hee was taken out from prison, and from iudgement: and who shall declare his age? for he was cut out of the lande of the liuing: for the transgression of my people was he plagued. ⁹ And he made his graue with the wicked, and with the riche in his death, though hee had done no wickednesse, neither was any deceite in his mouth. ¹⁰ Yet the Lord would breake him, and make him subiect to infirmities: when hee shall make his soule an offring for sinne, he shall see his seede and shall prolong his dayes, and the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. ¹¹ Hee shall see of the trauaile of his soule, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous seruant iustifie many: for hee shall beare their iniquities. ¹² Therefore will I giue him a portion with the great, and he shall deuide the spoyle with the strong, because hee hath powred out his soule vnto death: and he was counted with the transgressers, and he bare the sinne of many, and prayed for the trespassers.

²⁶ And after threescore and two weekes, shall Messiah be slaine, and shall haue nothing,, and the people of the prince that shall come, shall destroy the citie and the Sanctuarie, and the end thereof shalbe with a flood: and vnto the end of the battell it shalbe destroyed by desolations.

¹⁰ And I will powre vpon the house of Dauid, and vpon the inhabitants of Ierusalem the Spirite of grace and of compassion, and they shall looke vpon me, whom they haue pearced, and they shall lament for him, as one mourneth for his onely sonne, and be sorie for him as one is sorie for his first borne.

⁷ Arise, O sword, vpon my shepheard, and vpon the man, that is my fellow, sayth the Lord of hostes: smite the shepheard, and the sheepe shall be scattered: and I will turne mine hand vpon the litle ones.

⁷ Wo be vnto the world because of offences: for it must needes be that offences shall come, but wo be to that man by whome the offence commeth.

⁵⁴ Howe then shoulde the Scriptures bee fulfilled, which say, that it must be so?

⁵⁶ But all this was done, that the Scriptures of the Prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsooke him, and fled.

³ Then when Iudas which betraied him, sawe that hee was condemned, hee repented himselfe, and brought againe the thirtie pieces of siluer to the chiefe Priestes, and Elders, ⁴ Saying, I haue sinned, betraying the innocent bloud. But they sayde, What is that to vs? see thou to it. ⁵ And when hee had cast downe the siluer pieces in the Temple, hee departed, and went, and hanged himselfe.

¹² And he answered, and said vnto them, Elias verely shall first come, and restore all things: and as it is written of the Sonne of man, hee must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

²⁵ Then he sayd vnto them, O fooles and slowe of heart to beleeue all that the Prophets haue spoken! ²⁶ Ought not Christ to haue suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? ²⁷ And he began at Moses, and at all the Prophets, and interpreted vnto them in all the Scriptures the things which were written of him.

⁴⁶ And said vnto them, Thus is it written, and thus it behoued Christ to suffer, and to rise againe from the dead the third day,

¹² While I was with them in the worlde, I kept them in thy Name: those that thou gauest me, haue I kept, and none of them is lost, but the childe of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

²⁴ Therefore they sayde one to another, Let vs not deuide it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be. This was that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which sayth, They parted my garments among them, and on my coate did cast lots. So the souldiers did these things in deede.

²⁸ After, when Iesus knew that all things were performed, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, he said, I thirst.

³⁶ For these things were done, that the Scripture shoulde be fulfilled, Not a bone of him shalbe broken. ³⁷ And againe an other Scripture saith, They shall see him whom they haue thrust through.

¹⁶ Yee men and brethren, this scripture must needes haue beene fulfilled, which the holy Ghost by the mouth of Dauid spake before of Iudas, which was guide to them that tooke Iesus. ¹⁷ For hee was nombred with vs, and had obteined fellowship in this ministration. ¹⁸ He therefore hath purchased a field with the reward of iniquitie: and when he had throwen downe himselfe headlong, hee brast asunder in the middes, and all his bowels gushed out. ¹⁹ And it is knowen vnto all the inhabitants of Hierusalem, in so much, that that field is called in their owne language, Aceldama, That is, the field of blood. ²⁰ For it is written in the booke of Psalmes, Let his habitation be void, and let no man dwel therein: also, Let another take his charge.

²³ Him, I say, being deliuered by the determinate counsell, and foreknowledge of God, after you had taken, with wicked handes you haue crucified and slaine.

²⁸ To doe whatsoeuer thine hand, and thy counsell had determined before to be done.

²⁷ For the inhabitants of Hierusalem, and their rulers, because they knewe him not, nor yet the woordes of the Prophets, which are read euery Sabbath day, they haue fulfilled them in condemning him. ²⁸ And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate to kill him. ²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all things that were written of him, they tooke him downe from the tree, and put him in a sepulchre.

² And Paul, as his maner was, went in vnto them, and three Sabbath daies disputed with them by the Scriptures, ³ Opening, and alleadging that Christ must haue suffered, and risen againe from the dead: and this is Iesus Christ, whom, said he, I preach to you.

²² Neuertheles, I obteined helpe of God, and continue vnto this day, witnessing both to small and to great, saying none other things, then those which the Prophets and Moses did say should come, ²³ To wit, that Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light vnto this people, and to the Gentiles.

²³ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many vnto him into his lodging, to whom he expounded testifying the kingdome of God, and persuading them those things that concerne Iesus, both out of the Lawe of Moses, and out of the Prophets, from morning to night.

³ For first of all, I deliuered vnto you that which I receiued, how that Christ died for our sinnes, according to the Scriptures,

¹⁰ Of the which saluation ye Prophets haue inquired and searched, which prophecied of the grace that should come vnto you, ¹¹ Searching when or what time the Spirite which testified before of Christ which was in them, shoulde declare the sufferings that should come vnto Christ, and the glorie that shoulde follow.
