¹⁸ And wheresoeuer he taketh him, he teareth him, and he fometh, and gnasheth his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples, that they should cast him out, and they could not.

²⁹ Then he sayd to Gehazi, Gird thy loynes, and take my staffe in thine hand, and goe thy way: if thou meete any, salute him not: and if any salute thee, answere him not: and laye my staffe vpon the face of the childe. ³⁰ And the mother of the childe sayde, As the Lord liueth, and as thy soule liueth, I will not leaue thee. Therefore he arose, and followed her. ³¹ But Gehazi was gone before them, and had layed the staffe vpon the face of the childe, but he neither spake nor heard: wherefore hee returned to meete him, and told him, saying, The childe is not waken.

⁹ His wrath hath torne me, and hee hateth me, and gnasheth vpon mee with his teeth: mine enemie hath sharpened his eyes against me.

¹⁰ The wicked shall see it and be angrie: he shall gnash with his teeth, and consume away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

¹² And the children of the kingdome shall be cast out into vtter darkenes: there shalbe weeping and gnashing of teeth.

²² And beholde, a woman a Cananite came out of the same coasts, and cried, saying vnto him, Haue mercie on me, O Lord, the sonne of Dauid: my daughter is miserably vexed with a deuil.

¹⁶ And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not heale him.

¹⁹ Then came the disciples to Iesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? ²⁰ And Iesus said vnto them, Because of your vnbeliefe: for verely I say vnto you, if ye haue faith as much as is a graine of mustarde seede, ye shall say vnto this mountaine, Remooue hence to yonder place, and it shall remoue: and nothing shalbe vnpossible vnto you.

²⁰ So they brought him vnto him: and assoone as the spirit sawe him, hee tare him, and hee fell downe on the ground walowing and foming.

²⁶ Then the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out, and he was as one dead, in so much that many said, He is dead.

²⁸ And when hee was come into the house, his disciples asked him secretly, Why could not we cast him out? ²⁹ And he saide vnto them, This kinde can by no other meanes come foorth, but by prayer and fasting.

²³ For verely I say vnto you, that whosoeuer shall say vnto this mountaine, Be thou taken away, and cast into the sea, and shall not wauer in his heart, but shall beleeue that those things which he saieth, shall come to passe, whatsoeuer he saieth, shall be done to him.

³⁹ And loe, a spirit taketh him, and suddenly he crieth, and he teareth him, that he fometh, and hardly departeth from him, when he hath bruised him. ⁴⁰ Nowe I haue besought thy disciples to cast him out, but they could not.

⁵⁴ But when they heard these thinges, their heartes brast for anger, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.

¹³ They are the raging waues of the sea, foming out their owne shame: they are wandring starres, to whome is reserued the blackenesse of darkenesse for euer.
