¹⁶ Then spake they that feared the Lord, euery one to his neighbour, and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a booke of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought vpon his Name.

¹² Then he said, Lay not thine hand vpon the childe, neither doe any thing vnto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing for my sake thou hast not spared thine onely sonne.

⁶ And these wordes which I commaund thee this day, shalbe in thine heart. ⁷ And thou shalt rehearse them continually vnto thy children, and shalt talke of them when thou tariest in thine house, and as thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest downe, and when thou risest vp: ⁸ And thou shalt binde them for a signe vpon thine hand, and they shalbe as frontlets betweene thine eyes.

¹⁶ And Ionathan Sauls sonne arose and went to Dauid into the wood, and comforted him in God, ¹⁷ And said vnto him, Feare not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not finde thee, and thou shalt be King ouer Israel, and I shalbe next vnto thee: and also Saul my father knoweth it. ¹⁸ So they twaine made a couenant before ye Lord: and Dauid did remaine in the wood: but Ionathan went to his house.

¹ Afterwarde when the King sate in his house and the Lord had giuen him rest rounde about from all his enemies,

³ And Ahab called Obadiah the gouernour of his house: (and Obadiah feared God greatly:

¹² And when I am gone from thee, the Spirit of the Lord shall cary thee into some place that I doe not know: so when I come and tell Ahab, if he cannot finde thee, then wil he kill me: But I thy seruant feare the Lord from my youth.

⁷ And it was in the heart of Dauid my father to builde an house vnto the Name of the Lord God of Israel,

⁵ Then called Ester Hatach one of the Kings eunuches, whom he had appointed to serue her, and gaue him a commandement vnto Mordecai, to knowe what it was, and why it was. ⁶ So Hatach went foorth to Mordecai vnto the streete of the citie, which was before the Kings gate. ⁷ And Mordecai tolde him of all that which had come vnto him, and of the summe of the siluer that Haman had promised to pay vnto the Kings treasures, because of the Iewes, for to destroy them. ⁸ Also he gaue him the copy of the writing and commission that was giuen at Shushan, to destroy them, that he might shewe it vnto Ester and declare it vnto her, and to charge her that she should goe in to the King, and make petition and supplication before him for her people. ⁹ So when Hatach came, he told Ester the wordes of Mordecai. ¹⁰ Then Ester sayde vnto Hatach, and commanded him to say vnto Mordecai, ¹¹ All the Kings seruants and the people of the Kings prouinces doe knowe, that whosoeuer, man or woman, that commeth to the King into the inner court, which is not called, there is a law of his, that he shall dye, except him to whom the King holdeth out the golden rodde, that he may liue. Now I haue not bene called to come vnto the King these thirtie dayes. ¹² And they certified Mordecai of Esters wordes. ¹³ And Mordecai saide, that they should answere Ester thus, Thinke not with thy selfe that thou shalt escape in the Kings house, more then all the Iewes. ¹⁴ For if thou holdest thy peace at this time, comfort and deliuerance shall appeare to the Iewes out of another place, but thou and thy fathers house shall perish: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdome for such a time? ¹⁵ Then Ester commanded to answere Mordecai, ¹⁶ Goe, and assemble all the Iewes that are found in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and eate not, nor drinke in three dayes, day nor night. I also and my maydes will fast likewise, and so will I go in to the King, which is not according to the lawe: and if I perish, I perish. ¹⁷ So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Ester had commanded him.

¹ The same night the King slept not, and he comanded to bring ye booke of the records, and the chronicles: and they were read before ye King.

²³ Oh that my wordes were nowe written! oh that they were written euen in a booke, ²⁴ And grauen with an yron pen in lead, or in stone for euer! ²⁵ For I am sure, that my Redeemer liueth, and he shall stand the last on the earth.

²⁸ And vnto man he said, Behold, the feare of the Lord is wisedome, and to depart from euil is vnderstanding.

⁴ The wicked is so proude that hee seeketh not for God: hee thinketh alwayes, There is no God.

³ But to the Saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent: all my delite is in them.

⁷ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.

¹⁸ Beholde, the eye of the Lord is vpon them that feare him, and vpon them, that trust in his mercie,

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord are vpon the righteous, and his eares are open vnto their crie.

⁸ Thou hast counted my wandrings: put my teares into thy bottel: are they not in thy register?

¹⁶ Come and hearken, all ye that feare God, and I will tell you what he hath done to my soule.

¹⁵ If I say, I will iudge thus, beholde the generation of thy children: I haue trespassed. ¹⁶ Then thought I to know this, but it was too painefull for me, ¹⁷ Vntill I went into the Sanctuarie of God: then vnderstoode I their ende.

¹⁹ In the multitude of my thoughts in mine heart, thy comfortes haue reioyced my soule.

³³ I will sing vnto the Lord all my life: I will prayse my God, while I liue.

¹⁰ The beginning of wisedome is the feare of the Lord: all they that obserue them, haue good vnderstanding: his praise endureth for euer.

⁶³ I am companion of all them that feare thee, and keepe thy precepts.

⁴ For there is not a word in my tongue, but loe, thou knowest it wholy, O Lord.

¹¹ But the Lord deliteth in them that feare him, and attende vpon his mercie.

²⁰ He that walketh with the wise, shalbe wise: but a companion of fooles shalbe afflicted.

³ By an assured purpose wilt thou preserue perfite peace, because they trusted in thee.

⁸ Also we, O Lord, haue waited for thee in the way of thy iudgemets: the desire of our soule is to thy Name, and to the remembrance of thee.

¹⁰ Who is among you that feareth the Lord? let him heare the voyce of his seruant: hee that walketh in darkenesse, and hath no light, let him trust in the Name of the Lord, and staye vpon his God.

⁶ Beholde, it is written before me: I wil not keepe silence, but will render it and recompense it into their bosome.

⁴ And the Lord said vnto him, Goe through the middes of the citie, euen through the middes of Ierusalem and set a marke vpon the foreheads of them that mourne, and cry for all the abominations that be done in the middes thereof.

¹⁷ The Daniel went to his house and shewed the matter to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah his companions, ¹⁸ That they should beseech the God of heauen for grace in this secrete, that Daniel and his fellowes should not perish with the rest of ye wise men of Babel.

¹⁰ A fierie streame yssued, and came foorth from before him: thousand thousandes ministred vnto him, and tenne thousand thousands stoode before him: the iudgement was set, and the bookes opened.

⁵ And I will come neere to you to iudgement, and I will be a swift witnesse against the southsayers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that wrongfully keepe backe the hirelings wages, and vexe the widowe, and the fatherlesse, and oppresse the stranger, and feare not me, sayth the Lord of hostes.

² But vnto you that feare my Name, shall the sunne of righteousnesse arise, and health shall be vnder his wings, and ye shall goe forth, and growe vp as fat calues.

³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth foorth good things: and an euill man out of an euill treasure, bringeth forth euill things. ³⁶ But I say vnto you, that of euery idle word that men shall speake, they shall giue account thereof at the day of iudgement. ³⁷ For by thy wordes thou shalt be iustified, and by thy wordes thou shalt be condemned.

¹⁹ Againe, verely I say vnto you, that if two of you shall agree in earth vpon any thing, whatsoeuer they shall desire, it shall be giuen them of my Father which is in heauen. ²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in the mids of them.

³⁸ She then coming at the same instant vpon them, confessed likewise the Lord, and spake of him to all that looked for redemption in Hierusalem.

¹⁴ And they talked together of al these things that were done. ¹⁵ And it came to passe, as they communed together, and reasoned, that Iesus himselfe drewe neere, and went with them. ¹⁶ But their eyes were holden, that they could not know him. ¹⁷ And he sayd vnto them, What maner of communications are these that ye haue one to another as ye walke and are sad? ¹⁸ And the one (named Cleopas) answered, and sayd vnto him, Art thou onely a stranger in Hierusalem, and hast not knowen the things which are come to passe therein in these dayes? ¹⁹ And he said vnto them, What things? And they sayd vnto him, Of Iesus of Nazareth, which was a Prophet, mightie in deede and in word before God, and all people, ²⁰ And howe the hie Priests, and our rulers deliuered him to be condemned to death, and haue crucified him. ²¹ But we trusted that it had bene he that should haue deliuered Israel, and as touching all these things, to day is ye third day, that they were done. ²² Yea, and certaine women among vs made vs astonied, which came early vnto the sepulchre. ²³ And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seene a vision of Angels, which sayd, that he was aliue. ²⁴ Therefore certaine of them which were with vs, went to the sepulchre, and found it euen so as the women had sayd, but him they saw not. ²⁵ Then he sayd vnto them, O fooles and slowe of heart to beleeue all that the Prophets haue spoken! ²⁶ Ought not Christ to haue suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? ²⁷ And he began at Moses, and at all the Prophets, and interpreted vnto them in all the Scriptures the things which were written of him. ²⁸ And they drew neere vnto ye towne, which they went to, but he made as though hee would haue gone further. ²⁹ But they constrained him, saying, Abide with vs: for it is towards night, and the day is farre spent. So he went in to tarie with them. ³⁰ And it came to passe, as hee sate at table with them, he tooke the bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gaue it to them. ³¹ Then their eyes were opened, and they knewe him: and he was no more seene of them.

⁴⁰ Andrew, Simon Peters brother, was one of the two which had heard it of Iohn, and that followed him. ⁴¹ The same founde his brother Simon first, and said vnto him, We haue founde that Messias, which is by interpretation, that Christ. ⁴² And he brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him, and saide, Thou art Simon the sonne of Iona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone. ⁴³ The day following, Iesus woulde goe into Galile, and founde Philip, and said vnto him, Followe me. ⁴⁴ Nowe Philip was of Bethsaida, the citie of Andrew and Peter. ⁴⁵ Philippe founde Nathanael, and saide vnto him, Wee haue founde him of whom Moses did write in the Lawe, and the Prophetes, Iesus that sonne of Ioseph, that was of Nazareth. ⁴⁶ Then Nathanael sayde vnto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saide to him, Come, and see. ⁴⁷ Iesus sawe Nathanael comming to him, and saide of him, Beholde in deede an Israelite, in whom is no guile.

²⁰ Nowe there were certaine Greekes among them that came vp to worship at the feast. ²¹ And they came to Philippe, which was of Bethsaida in Galile, and desired him, saying, Syr, we would see that Iesus. ²² Philippe came and tolde Andrew: and againe Andrew and Philippe tolde Iesus.

¹³ And when they were come in, they went vp into an vpper chamber, where abode both Peter and Iames, and Iohn, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartlemew, and Matthewe, Iames the sonne of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Iudas Iames brother.

¹ And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were al with one accord in one place.

²³ Then assoone as they were let goe, they came to their fellowes, and shewed all that the hie Priestes and Elders had said vnto them. ²⁴ And when they heard it, they lift vp their voyces to God with one accord, and said, O Lord, thou art the God which hast made the heaue, and the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, ²⁵ Which by the mouth of thy seruant Dauid hast saide, Why did the Gentiles rage, and the people imagine vaine things? ²⁶ The Kings of the earth assembled, and the rulers came together against the Lord, and against his Christ. ²⁷ For doutlesse, against thine holy Sonne Iesus, whome thou haddest anoynted, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel gathered themselues together, ²⁸ To doe whatsoeuer thine hand, and thy counsell had determined before to be done. ²⁹ And nowe, O Lord, beholde their threatnings, and graunt vnto thy seruants with all boldnesse to speake thy word, ³⁰ So that thou stretch forth thine hand, that healing, and signes, and wonders may be done by the Name of thine holy Sonne Iesus. ³¹ And when as they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together, and they were all filled with the holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God boldely. ³² And the multitude of them that beleeued, were of one heart, and of one soule: neither any of them said, that any thing of that which he possessed, was his owne, but they had all thinges common. ³³ And with great power gaue the Apostles witnes of the resurrection of the Lord Iesus: and great grace was vpon them all.

³¹ Then had the Churches rest through all Iudea, and Galile, and Samaria, and were edified and walked in the feare of the Lord, and were multiplied by the comfort of the holy Ghost.

² A deuoute man, and one that feared God with all his housholde, which gaue much almes to the people, and prayed God continually.

¹⁹ Speaking vnto your selues in psalmes, and hymnes, and spirituall songs, singing, and making melodie to the Lord in your hearts,

¹¹ Wherefore exhort one another, and edifie one another, euen as ye doe.

¹⁴ We desire you, brethren, admonish them that are out of order: comfort ye feeble minded: beare with the weake: be pacient toward all men.

¹³ But exhort one another dayly, while it is called to day, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulnes of sinne.

¹² For the worde of God is liuely, and mightie in operation, and sharper then any two edged sword, and entreth through, euen vnto the diuiding asunder of the soule and the spirit, and of the ioints, and the marow, and is a discerner of the thoughtes, and the intents of the heart. ¹³ Neither is there any creature, which is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and open vnto his eyes, with whome we haue to doe.

²⁴ And let vs consider one another, to prouoke vnto loue, and to good workes,

¹⁵ Take heede, that no man fall away from the grace of God: let no roote of bitternes spring vp and trouble you, lest thereby many be defiled.

⁴ Who shall not feare thee, O Lord, and glorifie thy Name! for thou onely art holy, and all nations shall come and worship before thee: for thy iudgements are made manifest.

¹² And I saw the dead, both great and small stand before God: and the bookes were opened, and another booke was opened, which is the booke of life, and the dead were iudged of those thinges, which were written in the bookes, according to their woorkes.
