⁶ A sonne honoureth his father, and a seruant his master. If then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my feare, sayth the Lord of hostes vnto you, O Priestes, that despise my Name? and yee say, Wherein haue we despised thy Name?

²² Then thou shalt say to Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my sonne, euen my first borne. ²³ Wherefore I say to thee, Let my sonne go, that he may serue me: if thou refuse to let him goe, beholde, I will slay thy sonne, euen thy first borne.

¹² Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.

³ Yee shall feare euery man his mother and his father, and shall keepe my Sabbaths: for I am the Lord your God.

¹⁶ Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath comanded thee, that thy dayes may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.

²⁸ And I chose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my Priest, to offer vpon mine altar, and to burne incense, and to weare an Ephod before me, and I gaue vnto the house of thy father all the offrings made by fire of the children of Israel. ²⁹ Wherefore haue you kicked against my sacrifice and mine offering, which I commanded in my Tabernacle, and honourest thy children aboue mee, to make your selues fatte of the first fruites of all the offerings of Israel my people? ³⁰ Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I saide, that thine house and the house of thy father should walke before mee for euer: but nowe the Lord saith, It shall not be so: for them that honour me, I will honour, and they that despise me, shall be despised.

¹¹ There is a generation that curseth their father, and doeth not blesse their mother.

¹⁷ The eye that mocketh his father and despiseth the instruction of his mother, let ye rauens of the valley picke it out, and the yong eagles eate it.

² Heare, O heauens, and hearken, O earth: for the Lord hath sayde, I haue nourished and brought vp children, but they haue rebelled against me.

⁸ But now, O Lord, thou art our Father: we are the clay, and thou art our potter, and we all are the worke of thine hands.

²¹ Yet I had planted thee, a noble vine, whose plants were all natural: howe then art thou turned vnto me into the plants of a strange vine? ²² Though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much sope, yet thine iniquitie is marked before me, sayeth the Lord God.

³⁰ An horrible and filthie thing is committed in the land. ³¹ The Prophets prophesie lies, and ye Priests receiue giftes in their handes, and my people delite therein. What will ye then doe in the ende thereof?

¹¹ For both the prophet and the Priest doe wickedly: and their wickednesse haue I found in mine House, saith the Lord.

⁹ They shall come weeping, and with mercie will I bring them againe: I will lead them by the riuers of water in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my first borne.

²⁶ Her Priests haue broken my Lawe, and haue defiled mine holy things: they haue put no difference betweene the holy and prophane, neither discerned betweene the vncleane, and the cleane, and haue hid their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am prophaned among them.

⁶ My people are destroyed for lacke of knowledge: because thou hast refused knowledge, I will also refuse thee, that thou shalt be no Priest to me: and seeing thou hast forgotten the Lawe of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

¹ O ye Priestes, heare this, and hearken ye, O house of Israel, and giue ye eare, O house of the King: for iudgement is towarde you, because you haue bene a snare on Mizpah, and a net spred vpon Tabor.

⁸ And Ephraim saide, Notwithstanding I am rich, I haue found me out riches in all my labours: they shall finde none iniquitie in me, that were wickednesse.

⁸ But yee are gone out of the way: yee haue caused many to fall by the Lawe: yee haue broken the couenant of Leui, sayeth the Lord of hostes.

¹⁴ Yet yee say, Wherein? Because the Lord hath beene witnesse betweene thee and the wife of thy youth, against whome thou hast transgressed: yet is shee thy companion, and the wife of thy couenant. ¹⁵ And did not hee make one? yet had hee abundance of spirit: and wherefore one? because he sought a godly seede: therefore keepe your selues in your spirit, and let none trespasse against the wife of his youth. ¹⁶ If thou hatest her, put her away, sayeth the Lord God of Israel, yet he couereth the iniurie vnder his garment, saieth the Lord of hosts: therefore keepe your selues in your spirite, and transgresse not. ¹⁷ Yee haue wearied the Lord with your woordes: yet yee say, Wherein haue we wearied him? When ye say, Euery one that doeth euill, is good in the sight of the Lord, and he deliteth in them. Or where is the God of iudgement?

⁷ From the dayes of your fathers, ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and haue not kept them: returne vnto me, and I will returne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes: but ye saide, Wherein shall we returne? ⁸ Will a man spoyle his gods? yet haue ye spoyled me: but ye say, Wherein haue we spoyled thee? In tithes, and offerings.

¹³ Your wordes haue bene stout against me, sayeth the Lord: yet ye say, What haue we spoken against thee? ¹⁴ Ye haue saide, It is in vaine to serue God: and what profite is it that we haue kept his commandement, and that we walked humbly before the Lord of hostes?

⁹ After this maner therefore pray ye, Our father which art in heauen, halowed be thy name.

¹⁴ For if ye doe forgiue men their trespasses, your heauenly Father will also forgiue you. ¹⁵ But if ye do not forgiue men their trespasses,, no more will your father forgiue you your trespaces.

²¹ Not euery one that sayeth vnto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdome of heauen, but he that doeth my Fathers will which is in heauen.

⁴ For God hath commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

⁶ Though hee honour not his father, or his mother, shalbe free: thus haue ye made the commandement of God of no aucthoritie by your tradition.

¹⁹ Honour thy father and mother: and thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.

¹⁰ For Moses sayd, Honour thy father and thy mother: and Whosoeuer shall speake euill of father or mother, let him die the death.

¹⁹ Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not steale. Thou shalt not beare false witnesse. Thou shalt hurt no man. Honour thy father and mother.

³⁶ Be ye therefore mercifull, as your Father also is mercifull.

⁴⁶ But why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I speake?

²⁹ But he willing to iustifie himselfe, said vnto Iesus, Who is then my neighbour?

²⁰ Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnes: Honour thy father and thy mother.

¹³ Ye call me Master, and Lord, and ye say well: for so am I. ¹⁴ If I then your Lord, and Master, haue washed your feete, ye also ought to wash one an others feete. ¹⁵ For I haue giuen you an example, that ye should doe, euen as I haue done to you. ¹⁶ Verely, verely I say vnto you, The seruant is not greater then his master, neither the ambassadour greater then he that sent him. ¹⁷ If ye know these things, blessed are ye, if ye doe them.

² Honour thy father and mother (which is the first commandement with promise)

¹ Let as many seruaunts as are vnder the yoke, count their masters worthie of all honour, that the Name of God, and his doctrine be not euill spoken of. ² And they which haue beleeuing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren, but rather doe seruice, because they are faithfull, and beloued, and partakers of the benefite. These things teach and exhort.

⁹ Let seruants be subiect to their masters, and please them in al things, not answering again, ¹⁰ Neither pickers, but that they shew al good faithfulnesse, that they may adorne the doctrine of God our Sauiour in all things.

¹⁷ And if ye call him Father, which without respect of person iudgeth according to euery mans woorke, passe the time of your dwelling here in feare,

¹⁷ Honour all men: loue brotherly fellowship: feare God: honour the King. ¹⁸ Seruaunts, be subiect to your masters with all feare, not onely to the good and courteous, but also to the froward. ¹⁹ For this is thanke worthie, if a man for conscience toward God endure griefe, suffering wrongfully.
