²² And all bare him witnes, and wondered at the gracious wordes, which proceeded out of his mouth, and said, Is not this Iosephs sonne?

² Thou art fayrer then the children of men: grace is powred in thy lips, because God hath blessed thee for euer.

⁴ And prosper with thy glory: ride vpon the worde of trueth and of meekenes and of righteousnes: so thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

³² The lips of the righteous knowe what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh froward things.

²¹ The wise in heart shall bee called prudent: and the sweetenesse of the lippes shall increase doctrine.

¹¹ A word spoken in his place, is like apples of golde with pictures of siluer.

¹⁰ The Preacher sought to finde out pleasant wordes, and an vpright writing, euen the wordes of trueth. ¹¹ The wordes of the wise are like goads, and like nailes fastened by the masters of the assemblies, which are giuen by one pastour.

⁴ The Lord God hath giuen me a tongue of the learned, that I shoulde knowe to minister a woord in time to him that is weary: he will raise me vp in the morning: in the morning hee will waken mine eare to heare, as the learned.

⁵⁴ And came into his owne countrey, and taught them in their Synagogue, so that they were astonied, and saide, Whence commeth this wisdome and great woorkes vnto this man? ⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenters sonne? Is not his mother called Marie, and his brethren Iames and Ioses, and Simon and Iudas? ⁵⁶ And are not his sisters all with vs? Whence then hath he all these things?

² And when the Sabbath was come, he began to teach in the Synagogue, and many that heard him, were astonied, and sayd, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdome is this that is giuen vnto him, that euen such great workes are done by his hands? ³ Is not this that carpenter Maries sonne, the brother of Iames and Ioses, and of Iuda and Simon? and are not his sisters here with vs? And they were offended in him.

⁴⁷ And all that heard him, were astonied at his vnderstanding and answeres.

¹⁵ For I will giue you a mouth and wisdome, where against all your aduersaries shall not be able to speake, nor resist.

⁴² And they said, Is not this Iesus that sonne of Ioseph, whose father and mother wee knowe? howe then sayth he, I came downe from heauen?

⁴⁶ The officers answered, Neuer man spake like this man.

¹⁰ But they were not able to resist the wisdome, and the Spirit by the which he spake.

⁸ And with the wholesome woorde, which can not be condemned, that hee which withstandeth, may be ashamed, hauing nothing concerning you to speake euill of.
