¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is vpon mee, because he hath anoynted me, that I should preach the Gospel to the poore: he hath sent mee, that I should heale the broken hearted, that I should preach deliuerance to the captiues, and recouering of sight to the blinde, that I should set at libertie them that are bruised:

¹⁵ I will also put enimitie betweene thee and the woman, and betweene thy seede and her seede. He shall breake thine head, and thou shalt bruise his heele.

²⁷ But because thine heart did melt, and thou didest humble thy selfe before God, when thou heardest his wordes against this place and against the inhabitantes thereof, and humbledst thy selfe before mee and tarest thy clothes, and weptest before mee, I haue also heard it, sayth the Lord.

² The Kings of the earth band themselues, and the princes are assembled together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

⁶ Euen I haue set my King vpon Zion mine holy mountaine.

¹⁸ The Lord is neere vnto them that are of a contrite heart, and will saue such as be afflicted in Spirite.

⁷ Thou louest righteousnes, and hatest wickednesse, because God, euen thy God hath anoynted thee with the oyle of gladnes aboue thy fellowes.

¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a contrite spirit: a contrite and a broken heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

²⁰ That he might heare the mourning of the prisoner, and deliuer the children of death:

¹⁰ They that dwell in darkenesse and in the shadowe of death, being bounde in miserie and yron, ¹¹ Because they rebelled against the wordes of the Lord, and despised the counsell of the most High, ¹² When he humbled their heart with heauines, then they fell downe and there was no helper. ¹³ Then they cried vnto the Lord in their trouble, and he deliuered them from their distresse. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkenes, and out of the shadowe of death, and brake their bandes asunder. ¹⁵ Let them therefore cofesse before the Lord his louing kindnesse, and his wonderfull woorkes before the sonnes of men. ¹⁶ For hee hath broken the gates of brasse, and brast the barres of yron asunder.

⁷ Which executeth iustice for the oppressed: which giueth bread to the hungry: the Lord loseth the prisoners. ⁸ The Lord giueth sight to the blinde: the Lord rayseth vp the crooked: the Lord loueth the righteous.

³ He healeth those that are broken in heart, and bindeth vp their sores.

² And the Spirite of the Lord shall rest vpon him: the Spirite of wisedome and vnderstanding, the Spirite of counsell and strength, the Spirite of knowledge, and of the feare of the Lord, ³ And shall make him prudent in the feare of the Lord: for he shall not iudge after the sight of his eies, neither reproue by ye hearing of his eares. ⁴ But with righteousnesse shall he iudge the poore, and with equitie shall he reprooue for the meeke of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lippes shall he slay the wicked. ⁵ And iustice shall be ye girdle of his loynes, and faithfulnesse the girdle of his reines.

¹⁸ And in that day shall the deafe heare the wordes of the booke, and the eyes of the blinde shall see out of obscuritie, and out of darkenesse. ¹⁹ The meeke in the Lord shall receiue ioye againe, and the poore men shall reioyce in the holy one of Israel.

³ The eyes of the seeing shall not be shut, and the eares of them that heare, shall hearken.

⁵ Then shall the eyes of the blinde be lightened, and the eares of the deafe be opened.

¹ Behold, my seruaunt: I will stay vpon him: mine elect, in whom my soule deliteth: I haue put my Spirit vpon him: he shall bring forth iudgement to the Gentiles. ² He shall not crie, nor lift vp, nor cause his voice to be heard in the streete. ³ A bruised reede shall hee not breake, and the smoking flaxe shall he not quench: he shall bring foorth iudgement in trueth. ⁴ He shall not faile nor be discouraged till he haue set iudgement in the earth: and the yles shall waite for his lawe.

⁷ That thou maist open the eyes of the blind, and bring out the prisoners from the prison: and them that sitte in darkenesse, out of the prison house.

¹⁶ And I will bring the blinde by a way, that they knewe not, and lead them by paths that they haue not knowen: I will make darkenesse light before them, and crooked thinges straight. These thinges will I doe vnto them, and not forsake them. ¹⁷ They shall be turned backe: they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in grauen images, and say to the molten images, Yee are our gods. ¹⁸ Heare, ye deafe: and ye blinde, regarde, that ye may see.

¹³ I haue raised him vp in righteousnesse, and I will direct all his wayes: he shall build my citie, and he shall let goe my captiues, not for price nor rewarde, saith the Lord of hostes.

⁹ That thou maiest say to the prisoners, Goe foorth: and to them that are in darkenesse, Shewe your selues: they shall feede in the waies, and their pastures shall bee in all the toppes of the hilles.

²⁴ Shall the pray be taken from the mightie? or the iust captiuitie deliuered? ²⁵ But thus sayeth the Lord, euen the captiuitie of the mightie shall be taken away: and the pray of the tyrant shall be deliuered: for I wil contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will saue thy children,

⁴ The Lord God hath giuen me a tongue of the learned, that I shoulde knowe to minister a woord in time to him that is weary: he will raise me vp in the morning: in the morning hee will waken mine eare to heare, as the learned.

² Shake thy selfe from the dust: arise, and sit downe, O Ierusalem: loose the bandes of thy necke, O thou captiue daughter, Zion. ³ For thus sayeth the Lord, Yee were solde for naught: therefore shall ye be redeemed without money.

¹⁵ For thus sayth he that is hie and excellent, he that inhabiteth the eternitie, whose Name is the Holy one, I dwell in the high and holy place: with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirite to reuiue the spirite of the humble, and to giue life to them that are of a contrite heart.

²¹ And I will make this my couenant with them, saith the Lord. My Spirit that is vpon thee, and my wordes, which I haue put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seede, nor out of the mouth of the seede of thy seede, saith the Lord, from hencefoorth euen for euer.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord God is vpon mee, therefore hath the Lord anoynted mee: hee hath sent mee to preache good tidings vnto the poore, to binde vp the broken hearted, to preach libertie to the captiues, and to them that are bound, the opening of the prison,

² For all these things hath mine hand made, and all these things haue bene, sayth the Lord: and to him will I looke, euen to him, that is poore, and of a contrite spirite and trembleth at my wordes.

⁴ And the Lord said vnto him, Goe through the middes of the citie, euen through the middes of Ierusalem and set a marke vpon the foreheads of them that mourne, and cry for all the abominations that be done in the middes thereof.

²⁴ Seuentie weekes are determined vpon thy people and vpon thine holy citie, to finish the wickednes, and to seale vp the sinnes, and to reconcile the inquitie, and to bring in euerlasting righteousnesse, and to seale vp the vision and prophecie, and to anoynt the most Holy.

¹² Then will I leaue in the middes of thee an humble and poore people: and they shall trust in the Name of the Lord.

¹¹ Thou also shalt be saued through the blood of thy couenant. I haue loosed thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. ¹² Turne you to the strong holde, ye prisoners of hope: euen to day doe I declare, that I will render the double vnto thee.

¹¹ And it was broken in that day: and so the poore of the sheepe that waited vpon me, knew that it was the worde of the Lord.

² But vnto you that feare my Name, shall the sunne of righteousnesse arise, and health shall be vnder his wings, and ye shall goe forth, and growe vp as fat calues.

¹⁶ The people which sate in darkenes, sawe great light: and to them which sate in the region, and shadowe of death, light is risen vp.

³ Blessed are the poore in spirit, for theirs is the kingdome of heauen.

²⁷ And as Iesus departed thence, two blinde men followed him, crying, and saying, O sonne of Dauid, haue mercie vpon vs. ²⁸ And when hee was come into the house, the blinde came to him, and Iesus saide vnto them, Beleeue yee that I am able to doe this? And they sayd vnto him, Yea, Lord. ²⁹ Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it vnto you. ³⁰ And their eyes were opened, and Iesus gaue them great charge, saying, See that no man knowe it.

⁵ The blinde receiue sight, and the halt doe walke: the lepers are clensed, and the deafe heare, the dead are raised vp, and the poore receiue the Gospel.

²⁰ A bruised reede shall he not breake, and smoking flaxe shall he not quenche, till he bring forth iudgement vnto victorie.

²⁰ And hee lifted vp his eyes vpon his disciples, and sayd, Blessed be ye poore: for yours is the kingdome of God.

²² And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Goe your wayes and shewe Iohn, what things ye haue seene and heard: that the blinde see, the halt goe, the lepers are cleansed, the deafe heare, the dead are raised, and the poore receiue the Gospel.

⁴¹ The same founde his brother Simon first, and said vnto him, We haue founde that Messias, which is by interpretation, that Christ.

³⁴ For hee whome God hath sent, speaketh the woordes of God: for God giueth him not the Spirit by measure.

³⁹ And Iesus sayd, I am come vnto iudgement into this world, that they which see not, might see: and that they which see, might be made blinde. ⁴⁰ And some of the Pharises which were with him, heard these things, and sayd vnto him, Are we blinde also? ⁴¹ Iesus sayd vnto them, If ye were blinde, ye should not haue sinne: but nowe ye say, We see: therefore your sinne remaineth.

⁴⁶ I am come a light into the world, that whosoeuer beleeueth in me, should not abide in darkenes.

²⁷ For doutlesse, against thine holy Sonne Iesus, whome thou haddest anoynted, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel gathered themselues together,

³⁸ To wit, howe God anointed Iesus of Nazareth with the holy Ghost, and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the deuill: for God was with him.

¹⁸ To open their eyes, that they may turne from darknes to light, and from the power of Satan vnto God, that they may receiue forgiuenes of sinnes, and inheritance among them, which are sanctified by fayth in me.

⁸ For ye were once darkenesse, but are nowe light in the Lord: walke as children of light, ⁹ (For the fruit of the Spirit is in al goodnes, and righteousnes, and trueth) ¹⁰ Approuing that which is pleasing to the Lord. ¹¹ And haue no fellowship with ye vnfruitfull works of darknes, but euen reproue them rather. ¹² For it is shame euen to speake of the things which are done of them in secret. ¹³ But all thinges when they are reproued of the light, are manifest: for it is light that maketh all things manifest. ¹⁴ Wherefore hee sayeth, Awake thou that sleepest, and stande vp from the deade, and Christ shall giue thee light.

¹³ Who hath deliuered vs from the power of darkenesse, and hath translated vs into the kingdome of his deare Sonne,

⁵ Yee are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, neither of darkenesse. ⁶ Therefore let vs not sleepe as do other, but let vs watch and be sober.

⁵ Hearken my beloued brethren, hath not God chosen the poore of this worlde, that they should be rich in faith, and heires of the kingdome which he promised to them that loue him?

⁹ But yee are a chosen generation, a royall Priesthoode, an holy nation, a people set at libertie, that yee shoulde shewe foorth the vertues of him that hath called you out of darkenesse into his marueilous light,

⁸ Againe, a new comandement I write vnto you, that which is true in him, and also in you: for the darkenes is past, and that true light now shineth. ⁹ He that saith that hee is in that light, and hateth his brother, is in darkenes, vntill this time. ¹⁰ Hee that loueth his brother, abideth in that light, and there is none occasion of euil in him.
