⁵⁰ And beholde, there was a man named Ioseph, which was a counseller, a good man and a iust.

⁵⁷ And when the euen was come, there came a riche man of Arimathea, named Ioseph, who had also himselfe bene Iesus disciple. ⁵⁸ He went to Pilate, and asked ye body of Iesus. Then Pilate commanded ye body to be deliuered. ⁵⁹ So Ioseph tooke the body, and wrapped it in a cleane linnen cloth, ⁶⁰ And put it in his new tombe, which he had hewen out in a rocke, and rolled a great stone to the doore of the sepulchre, and departed. ⁶¹ And there was Marie Magdalene, and the other Marie sitting ouer against the sepulchre.

⁴² And nowe when the night was come (because it was the day of the preparation that is before the Sabbath) ⁴³ Ioseph of Arimathea, an honorable counsellour, which also looked for the kingdome of God, came, and went in boldly vnto Pilate, and asked the body of Iesus. ⁴⁴ And Pilate marueiled, if he were already dead, and called vnto him the Centurion, and asked of him whether he had bene any while dead. ⁴⁵ And when he knewe the trueth of the Centurion, he gaue the body to Ioseph: ⁴⁶ Who bought a linnen cloth, and tooke him downe, and wrapped him in the linnen cloth, and laide him in a tombe that was hewen out of a rocke, and rolled a stone vnto the doore of the sepulchre: ⁴⁷ And Marie Magdalene, and Marie Ioses mother, behelde where he should be layed.

²⁵ And behold, there was a man in Hierusalem, whose name was Simeon: this man was iust, and feared God, and waited for the consolation of Israel, and the holy Ghost was vpon him.

³⁸ And after these things, Ioseph of Arimathea (who was a disciple of Iesus, but secretly for feare of the Iewes) besought Pilate that he might take downe the bodie of Iesus. And Pilate gaue him licence. He came then and tooke Iesus body. ³⁹ And there came also Nicodemus (which first came to Iesus by night) and brought of myrrhe and aloes mingled together about an hundreth pound. ⁴⁰ Then tooke they the body of Iesus, and wrapped it in linnen clothes with the odours, as the maner of the Iewes is to burie. ⁴¹ And in that place where Iesus was crucified, was a garden, and in the garden a newe sepulchre, wherein was neuer man yet laid. ⁴² There then laide they Iesus, because of the Iewes Preparation day, for the sepulchre was neere.

² A deuoute man, and one that feared God with all his housholde, which gaue much almes to the people, and prayed God continually.

²² And they sayd, Cornelius the captaine, a iust man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Iewes, was warned from heauen by an holy Angel, to send for thee into his house, and to heare thy wordes.

²⁴ For he was a good man, and full of the holy Ghost, and faith, and much people ioyned them selues vnto the Lord.
