⁴⁴ But being in an agonie, hee prayed more earnestly: and his sweate was like drops of blood, trickling downe to the ground.

²⁴ Now when Iaakob was left him selfe alone, there wrestled a man with him vnto the breaking of the day. ²⁵ And he sawe that he could not preuaile against him: therefore he touched the holowe of his thigh, and the holowe of Iaakobs thigh was loosed, as he wrestled with him. ²⁶ And he saide, Let me goe, for the morning appeareth. ⁶ I stretch forth mine hands vnto thee: my soule desireth after thee, as the thirstie land. Selah. ⁷ Heare me speedily, O Lord, for my spirit fayleth: hide not thy face from me, els I shall be like vnto them that go downe into the pit.

¹⁰ Yet the Lord would breake him, and make him subiect to infirmities: when hee shall make his soule an offring for sinne, he shall see his seede and shall prolong his dayes, and the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

¹² Haue ye no regarde, all yee that passe by this way? behold, and see, if there be any sorowe like vnto my sorowe, which is done vnto mee, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce wrath.

⁵³ They haue shut vp my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone vpon me. ⁵⁴ Waters flowed ouer mine head, then thought I, I am destroyed. ⁵⁵ I called vpon thy Name, O Lord, out of the lowe dungeon. ⁵⁶ Thou hast heard my voyce: stoppe not thine eare from my sigh and from my cry.

² And said, I cryed in mine affliction vnto the Lord, and he heard me: out of the bellie of hell cryed I, and thou heardest my voyce. ³ For thou haddest cast me into the bottome in the middes of the sea, and the floods compassed me about: all thy surges, and all thy waues passed ouer me.

²⁷ Now is my soule troubled: and what shall I say? Father, saue me from this houre: but therefore came I vnto this houre.

³² Who spared not his owne Sonne, but gaue him for vs all to death, how shall he not with him giue vs all things also?

⁷ Who in the dayes of his flesh did offer vp prayers and supplications, with strong crying and teares vnto him, that was able to saue him from death, and was also heard in that which he feared.
