⁵ Vnto whome came the princes of the Philistims, and said vnto her, Entise him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what meane we may ouercome him, that we may binde him, and punish him, and euery one of vs shall giue thee eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer.

¹⁶ So Esau returned, and went his way that same day vnto Seir.

¹⁷ For I wil promote thee vnto great honour, and wil do whatsoeuer thou sayest vnto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people. ¹⁸ And Balaam answered, and sayde vnto the seruants of Balak, If Balak woulde giue me his house full of siluer and golde, I can not goe beyonde the worde of the Lord my God, to doe lesse or more.

³ From Nilus which is in Egypt, euen vnto the borders of Ekron Northward: this is counted of the Canaanites, euen fiue Lordships of the Philistims, the Azzithites, and the Ashdodites, the Eshkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites, and the Auites:

¹⁵ And when the seuenth day was come, they said vnto Samsons wife, Entise thine husband, that he may declare vs the riddle, lest wee burne thee and thy fathers house with fire. Haue ye called vs, to possesse vs? is it not so?

² And he saide vnto his mother, The eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer that were taken from thee, for the which thou cursedst, and spakedst it, euen in mine hearing, beholde, the siluer is with me, I tooke it. Then his mother saide, Blessed be my sonne of the Lord.

⁶ Then Achish called Dauid, and said vnto him, As the Lord liueth, thou hast bene vpright and good in my sight, when thou wentest out and in with mee in the hoste, neither haue I founde euill with thee, since thou camest to me vnto this day, but the princes doe not fauour thee.

¹⁶ And it shall deliuer thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger, which flattereth with her wordes. ¹⁷ Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the couenant of her God. ¹⁸ Surely her house tendeth to death, and her paths vnto the dead. ¹⁹ All they that goe vnto her, returne not againe, neither take they holde of the wayes of life.

³ For the lippes of a strange woman drop as an honie combe, and her mouth is more soft then oyle. ⁴ But the end of her is bitter as wormewood, and sharpe as a two edged sworde. ⁵ Her feete goe downe to death, and her steps take holde on hell. ⁶ She weigheth not the way of life: her paths are moueable: thou canst not knowe them. ⁷ Heare yee me nowe therefore, O children, and depart not from the wordes of my mouth. ⁸ Keepe thy way farre from her, and come not neere the doore of her house, ⁹ Least thou giue thine honor vnto others, and thy yeeres to the cruell: ¹⁰ Least the stranger should be silled with thy strength, and thy labours bee in the house of a stranger, ¹¹ And thou mourne at thine end, (when thou hast consumed thy flesh and thy bodie)

²⁴ To keepe thee from the wicked woman, and from ye flatterie of ye tongue of a strange woman. ²⁵ Desire not her beautie in thine heart, neither let her take thee with her eye lids. ²⁶ For because of the whorish woman a man is brought to a morsell of bread, and a woman wil hunt for the precious life of a man.

²¹ Thus with her great craft she caused him to yeelde, and with her flattering lips she entised him. ²² And he followed her straight wayes, as an oxe that goeth to the slaughter, and as a foole to the stockes for correction, ²³ Till a dart strike through his liuer, as a bird hasteth to the snare, not knowing that he is in danger. ²⁴ Heare me now therefore, O children, and hearken to the wordes of my mouth. ²⁵ Let not thine heart decline to her wayes: wander thou not in her paths. ²⁶ For shee hath caused many to fall downe wounded, and the strong men are all slaine by her. ²⁷ Her house is the way vnto ye graue, which goeth downe to the chambers of death.

³ To make good for the euil of their hands, the prince asked, and the iudge iudgeth for a reward: therefore the great man he speaketh out the corruption of his soule: so they wrapt it vp.

¹⁵ And said, What will ye giue me, and I will deliuer him vnto you? and they appoynted vnto him thirtie pieces of siluer.

¹⁵ Knowe yee not, that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. ¹⁶ Doe ye not knowe, that he which coupleth himselfe with an harlot, is one body? for two, sayeth he, shalbe one flesh. ¹⁷ But hee that is ioyned vnto the Lord, is one spirite. ¹⁸ Flee fornication: euery sinne that a man doeth, is without the bodie: but hee that committeth fornication, sinneth against his owne bodie.

⁹ For they that will be rich, fall into tentation and snares, and into many foolish and noysome lustes, which drowne men in perdition and destruction. ¹⁰ For the desire of money is the roote of all euill, which while some lusted after, they erred from the faith, and pearced themselues through with many sorowes.
