¹⁶ They digge through houses in the darke, which they marked for themselues in the daye: they knowe not the light.

² If a thiefe bee founde breaking vp, and be smitten that he dye, no blood shall be shed for him. ³ But if it be in the day light, blood shall be shed for him: for he should make full restitution: if he had not wherewith, then shoulde he bee solde for his theft.

¹³ These are they, that abhorre the light: they know not the wayes thereof, nor continue in the paths thereof.

¹² Hast thou commanded the morning since thy dayes? hast thou caused the morning to knowe his place, ¹³ That it might take hold of the corners of the earth, and that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

⁵ Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and cary out thereby. ⁶ In their sight shalt thou beare it vpon thy shoulders, and carie it foorth in the darke: thou shalt couer thy face that thou see not the earth: for I haue set thee as a signe vnto the house of Israel. ⁷ And as I was commanded, so I brought forth my stuffe by day, as ye stuffe of one that goeth into captiuitie: and by night I digged through the wall with mine hand, and brought it forth in ye darke, and I bare it vpon my shoulder in their sight.

¹² And the chiefest that is among them, shall beare vpon his shoulder in the darke, and shall goe forth: they shall digge through the wall, to cary out thereby: he shall couer his face, that he see not the ground with his eies.

¹⁹ Lay not vp treasures for your selues vpon the earth, where the mothe and canker corrupt, and where theeues digge through and steale.

⁴³ Of this be sure, that if the good man of the house knewe at what watch the thiefe would come, he woulde surely watch, and not suffer his house to be digged through.

²⁰ For euery man that euill doeth, hateth the light, neither commeth to light, least his deedes should be reprooued.

¹¹ And haue no fellowship with ye vnfruitfull works of darknes, but euen reproue them rather. ¹² For it is shame euen to speake of the things which are done of them in secret. ¹³ But all thinges when they are reproued of the light, are manifest: for it is light that maketh all things manifest.
