²¹ A sounde of feare is in his eares, and in his prosperitie the destroyer shall come vpon him.

⁹ But the Lord God called to the man, and said vnto him, Where art thou? ¹⁰ Who saide, I heard thy voyce in the garden, and was afraide: because I was naked, therefore I hid my selfe.

³⁶ And vpon them that are left of you, I will send euen a faintnes into their hearts in ye land of their enemies, and the sounde of a leafeshaken shall chase them, and they shall flee as fleeing from a sword, and they shall fall, no man pursuing them.

¹¹ Fearefulnesse shall make him afrayde on euery side, and shall driue him to his feete.

⁵ That the reioycing of the wicked is short, and that the ioy of hypocrites is but a moment? ⁶ Though his excellencie mount vp to the heauen, and his head reache vnto the cloudes, ⁷ Yet shall hee perish for euer, like his dung, and they which haue seene him, shall say, Where is hee?

²² When he shalbe filled with his abundance, he shalbe in paine, and the hand of all the wicked shall assaile him. ²³ He shall be about to fill his belly, but God shall sende vpon him his fierce wrath, and shall cause to rayne vpon him, euen vpon his meate. ²⁴ He shall flee from the yron weapons, and the bow of steele shall strike him through. ²⁵ The arrowe is drawen out, and commeth forth of the body, and shineth of his gall, so feare commeth vpon him.

²⁰ Terrours shall take him as waters, and a tempest shall cary him away by night.

¹⁸ Surely thou hast set them in slipperie places, and castest them downe into desolation. ¹⁹ How suddenly are they destroyed, perished and horribly consumed, ²⁰ As a dreame when one awaketh! O Lord, when thou raisest vs vp, thou shalt make their image despised.

⁷ (When the wicked growe as the grasse, and all the workers of wickednesse doe flourish) that they shall be destroyed for euer.

²⁶ I will also laugh at your destruction, and mocke, when your feare commeth. ²⁷ Whe your feare cometh like sudden desolation, and your destruction shall come like a whirle wind: whe affliction and anguish shall come vpon you,

²¹ And vpon a day appointed, Herod arayed himselfe in royall apparell, and sate on the iudgement seate, and made an oration vnto them. ²² And the people gaue a shoute, saying, The voyce of God, and not of man. ²³ But immediatly the Angel of the Lord smote him, because he gaue not glorie vnto God, so that he was eaten of wormes, and gaue vp the ghost.

¹⁰ Neither murmure ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

³ For when they shall say, Peace, and safetie, then shall come vpon them sudden destruction, as the trauaile vpon a woman with childe, and they shall not escape,

¹¹ And they haue a King ouer them, which is the Angel of the bottomlesse pit, whose name in Hebrewe is Abaddon, and in Greeke he is named Apollyon, that is, destroying.
