⁹ Who is ignorant of all these, but that the hande of the Lord hath made these?

¹⁷ Beware least thou say in thine heart, My power, and the strength of mine owne hand hath prepared me this abundance. ¹⁸ But remember the Lord thy God: for it is he which giueth thee power to get substance to establish his couenant which he sware vnto thy fathers, as appeareth this day.

⁷ The Lord maketh poore and maketh rich: bringeth lowe, and exalteth.

³ But I haue vnderstanding aswel as you, and am not inferior vnto you: yea, who knoweth not such things?

¹⁸ Yet hee filled their houses with good things: but let the counsell of the wicked be farre from me.

²⁰ Therefore let them see and knowe, and let them consider and vnderstande together that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the holy one of Israel hath created it.

⁵ I haue made the earth, the man, and the beast that are vpon the groud, by my great power, and by my outstreched arme, and haue giuen it vnto whom it pleased me. ⁶ But nowe I haue giuen all these landes into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel my seruant, and the beastes of the fielde haue I also giuen him to serue him.

¹⁸ O King, heare thou, The most high God gaue vnto Nebuchad-nezzar thy father a kingdome, and maiestie, and honour and glory.

¹⁷ Nowe therefore, O our God, heare the prayer of thy serunant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine vpon thy Sanctuarie, that lyeth waste for the Lords sake.

³⁵ Then the towne clearke when hee had stayed the people, saide, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is it that knoweth not howe that the citie of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddesse Diana, and of the image, which came downe from Iupiter?

³⁶ For of him, and through him, and for him are all things: to him be glory for euer. Amen.

⁵ Hearken my beloued brethren, hath not God chosen the poore of this worlde, that they should be rich in faith, and heires of the kingdome which he promised to them that loue him? ⁶ But ye haue despised the poore. Doe not the riche oppresse you by tyrannie, and doe not they drawe you before the iudgement seates? ⁷ Doe nor they blaspheme the worthie Name after which yee be named?
