¹² Heare me, ye stubburne hearted, that are farre from iustice.

¹ To him that excelleth. A Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Heare this, all ye people: giue eare, all ye that dwell in the world,

⁵ The stout hearted are spoyled: they haue slept their sleepe, and all the men of strength haue not found their hands.

¹⁵⁰ They drawe neere, that follow after malice, and are farre from thy Lawe.

¹⁵⁵ Saluation is farre from the wicked, because they seeke not thy statutes.

²² O ye foolish, howe long will ye loue foolishnes? and the scornefull take their pleasure in scorning, and the fooles hate knowledge? ²³ (Turne you at my correction: loe, I will powre out my mind vnto you, and make you vnderstand my wordes)

¹ Doth not wisedome crie? and vnderstanding vtter her voyce? ² She standeth in the top of the high places by the way in the place of the paths. ³ She cryeth besides the gates before the citie at the entrie of the doores, ⁴ O men, I call vnto you, and vtter my voyce to the children of men. ⁵ O ye foolish men, vnderstand wisedome, and ye, O fooles, be wise in heart.

²³ Hearken ye, and heare my voyce: hearken ye, and heare my speach.

²⁰ Assemble your selues, and come: drawe neere together, ye abiect of the Gentiles: they haue no knowledge, that set vp the wood of their idole, and pray vnto a god, that cannot saue them.

³ Heare ye me, O house of Iaakob, and all that remaine of the house of Israel, which are borne of me from the wombe, and brought vp of me from the birth.

¹ Hear yee this, O house of Iaakob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come out of the waters of Iudah: which sweare by the Name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousnesse.

⁴ Because I knewe, that thou art obstinate, and thy necke is an yron sinew, and thy brow brasse,

⁵ Thus sayeth the Lord, What iniquitie haue your fathers founde in mee, that they are gone farre from mee, and haue walked after vanitie, and are become vaine?

¹¹ But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their eares, that they should not heare. ¹² Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, least they should heare the Lawe and the wordes which the Lord of hostes sent in his spirit by the ministerie of ye former Prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hostes.

¹³ Your wordes haue bene stout against me, sayeth the Lord: yet ye say, What haue we spoken against thee? ¹⁴ Ye haue saide, It is in vaine to serue God: and what profite is it that we haue kept his commandement, and that we walked humbly before the Lord of hostes? ¹⁵ Therefore wee count the proude blessed: euen they that worke wickednesse, are set vp, and they that tempt God, yea, they are deliuered.

⁵¹ Ye stiffenecked and of vncircumcised heartes and eares, ye haue alwayes resisted the holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you.

¹³ But nowe in Christ Iesus, ye which once were farre off, are made neere by the blood of Christ.

¹⁴ Wherefore hee sayeth, Awake thou that sleepest, and stande vp from the deade, and Christ shall giue thee light.

¹⁷ For thou saiest, I am rich and increased with goods, and haue neede of nothing, and knowest not howe thou art wretched and miserable, and poore, and blinde, and naked. ¹⁸ I counsell thee to bye of me gold tried by the fire, that thou maiest bee made rich: and white raiment, that thou maiest be clothed, and that thy filthie nakednesse doe not appeare: and anoynt thine eyes with eye salue, that thou maiest see.
