⁷ I forme the light and create darkenes: I make peace and create euill: I the Lord doe all these things.

³ Then God said, Let there be light: And there was light. ⁴ And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated the light from the darkenes. ⁵ And God called the Light, Day, and the darkenes, he called Night. So the euening and the morning were the first day.

¹⁷ And God set them in the firmament of the heauen, to shine vpon the earth, ¹⁸ And to rule in the day, and in the night, and to separate the light from the darkenesse: and God saw that it was good.

²¹ Againe ye Lord said vnto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heauen, that there may be vpon the lande of Egypt darkenesse, euen darkenesse that may be felt. ²² Then Moses stretched forth his hande towarde heauen, and there was a blacke darkenesse in all the land of Egypt three daies. ²³ No man saw an other, neither rose vp from ye place where he was for three dayes: but all the children of Israel had light where they dwelt.

²⁹ And when he giueth quietnesse, who can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who can beholde him, whether it be vpon nations, or vpon a man onely?

³ When I beholde thine heauens, euen the workes of thy fingers, the moone and the starres which thou hast ordeined,

¹¹ The Lord shall giue strength vnto his people: the Lord shall blesse his people with peace.

⁷ But God is the iudge: he maketh lowe and he maketh hie.

²⁰ Thou makest darkenesse, and it is night, wherein all the beastes of the forest creepe forth. ²¹ The lions roare after their praye, and seeke their meate at God. ²² When the sunne riseth, they retire, and couche in their dennes. ²³ Then goeth man forth to his worke, and to his labour vntill the euening.

¹³ Wisedome is good with an inheritance, and excellent to them that see the sunne. ¹⁴ For man shall rest in the shadowe of wisedome, and in the shadowe of siluer: but the excellencie of the knowledge of wisedome giueth life to the possessers thereof.

⁵ O Asshur, the rodde of my wrath: and the staffe in their hands is mine indignation. ⁶ I will sende him to a dissembling nation, and I will giue him a charge against the people of my wrath to take the spoyle and to take the pray, and to treade them vnder feete like the mire in the streete.

² But he yet is wisest: therefore he wil bring euill, and not turne backe his worde, but he will arise against the house of the wicked, and against the helpe of them that worke vanitie.

¹⁶ Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.

⁷ I will speake suddenly against a nation or against a kingdome to plucke it vp, and to roote it out and to destroy it. ⁸ But if this nation, against whom I haue pronounced, turne from their wickednesse, I will repent of the plague that I thought to bring vpon them. ⁹ And I wil speake suddenly concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdome to builde it and to plant it. ¹⁰ But if it do euill in my sight and heare not my voyce, I will repent of ye good that I thought to do for them.

³⁵ Thus saith the Lord, which giueth the sunne for a light to the day, and the courses of the moone and of the starres for a light to the night, which breaketh the sea, when the waues thereof roare: his Name is the Lord of hostes.

²⁰ Thou art mine hammer, and weapons of warre: for with thee will I breake the nations, and with thee wil I destroy kingdomes,

¹⁵ If I bring noysome beastes into the lande and they spoyle it, so that it bee desolate, that no man may passe through, because of beastes, ¹⁶ Though these three men were in the mids thereof, As I liue, sayth the Lord God, they shall saue neither sonnes nor daughters: they onely shalbe deliuered, but the land shall be waste. ¹⁷ Or if I bring a sworde vpon this land, and say, Sword, go through the land, so that I destroy man and beast out of it, ¹⁸ Though these three men were in the mids thereof, As I liue, sayth the Lord God, they shall deliuer neither sonnes nor daughters, but they onely shall be deliuered themselues. ¹⁹ Or if I send a pestilence into this land, and powre out my wrath vpon it in blood, to destroy out of it man and beast, ²⁰ And though Noah, Daniel and Iob were in the middes of it, As I liue, sayth the Lord God, they shall deliuer neither sonne nor daughter: they shall but deliuer their owne soules by their righteousnes. ²¹ For thus saith the Lord God, Howe much more when I sende my foure sore iudgements vpon Ierusalem, euen the sworde, and famine, and the noysome beast and pestilence, to destroy man and beast out of it?

⁸ All the lightes of heauen will I make darke for thee, and bring darkenesse vpon thy lande, sayeth the Lord God.

² A day of darkenesse, and of blacknesse, a day of cloudes, and obscuritie, as the morning spred vpon the mountaines, so is there a great people, and a mighty: there was none like it from the beginning, neither shalbe any more after it, vnto the yeeres of many generations.

⁶ Or shall a trumpet be blowen in the citie, and the people be not afraide? or shall there be euil in a citie, and the Lord hath not done it?

¹³ For lo, he that formeth the mountaines, and createth the winde, and declareth vnto man what is his thought: which maketh the morning darkenesse, and walketh vpon the hie places of the earth, the Lord God of hostes is his Name.

⁶ Seeke the Lord, and yee shall liue, least he breake out like fire in the house of Ioseph and deuoure it, and there be none to quench it in Beth-el.

⁸ But passing ouer as with a flood, he will vtterly destroy the place thereof, and darknesse shall pursue his enemies.

²⁸ To doe whatsoeuer thine hand, and thy counsell had determined before to be done.

⁶ For God that commanded the light to shine out of darknesse, is he which hath shined in our hearts, to giue the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Iesus Christ.

¹⁷ Euery good giuing, and euery perfect gift is from aboue, and commeth downe from the Father of lights, with whome is no variablenes, neither shadow of turning.

⁶ The Angels also which kept not their first estate, but left their owne habitation, hee hath reserued in euerlasting chaines vnder darkenesse vnto the iudgement of the great day.

¹³ They are the raging waues of the sea, foming out their owne shame: they are wandring starres, to whome is reserued the blackenesse of darkenesse for euer.
