³ By an assured purpose wilt thou preserue perfite peace, because they trusted in thee.

²⁰ And they were holpen against them, and the Hagarims were deliuered into their hande, and all that were with them: for they cryed to God in the battel, and he heard them, because they trusted in him.

¹⁸ So the children of Israel were brought vnder at that time: and the children of Iudah preuailed, because they stayed vpon the Lord God of their fathers.

⁸ The Ethiopians and the Lubims, were they not a great hoste with charets and horsemen, exceeding many? yet because thou diddest rest vpon the Lord, he deliuered them into thine had.

¹⁰ And they that know thy Name, will trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not failed them that seeke thee.

⁷ Shew vs thy mercie, O Lord, and graunt vs thy saluation. ⁸ I will hearken what the Lord God will say: for he will speake peace vnto his people, and to his Saintes, that they turne not againe to follie.

⁶ For vnto vs a childe is borne, and vnto vs a Sonne is giuen: and the gouernement is vpon his shoulder, and he shall call his name Wonderfull, Counseller, The mightie God, The euerlasting Father, The prince of peace, ⁷ The increase of his gouernement and peace shall haue none end: he shall sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and vpon his kingdome, to order it, and to stablish it with iudgement and with iustice, from hencefoorth, euen for euer: the zeale of the Lord of hostes will performe this.

¹ Woe vnto them that goe downe into Egypt for helpe, and stay vpon horses, and trust in charets, because they are many, and in horsemen, because they be very strong: but they looke not vnto the holy one of Israel, nor seeke vnto the Lord.

² For they are called of the holy citie, and staie themselues vpon the God of Israel, whose Name is the Lord of hostes.

¹ Thus sayeth the Lord, Where is that bill of your mothers diuorcement, whome I haue cast off? or who is the creditour to whome I solde you? Beholde, for your iniquities are yee solde, and because of your transgressions is your mother forsaken.

¹⁹ I create the fruite of the lips, to be peace: peace vnto them that are farre off, and to them that are neere, sayth the Lord: for I will heale him. ²⁰ But the wicked are like the raging sea, that can not rest, whose waters cast vp myre and dirt. ²¹ There is no peace, sayth my God, to the wicked.

⁷ Blessed be the man, that trusteth in ye Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. ⁸ For he shall be as a tree that is planted by the water, which spreadeth out her rootes by the riuer, and shall not feele when the heate commeth, but her leafe shall be greene, and shall not care for the yeere of drought, neyther shall cease from yeelding fruit.

⁵ And hee shall be our peace when Asshur shall come into our lande: when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seuen shepheardes, and eight principall men.

²⁷ Peace I leaue with you: my peace I giue vnto you: not as the worlde giueth, giue I vnto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor feare.

³³ These thinges haue I spoken vnto you, that in me ye might haue peace: in the world ye shall haue affliction, but be of good comfort: I haue ouercome the world.

¹⁸ Which Abraham aboue hope, beleeued vnder hope, that he should be the father of many nations: according to that which was spoken to him, So shall thy seede be. ¹⁹ And he not weake in the faith, considered not his owne bodie, which was nowe dead, being almost an hundreth yeere olde, neither the deadnes of Saraes wombe. ²⁰ Neither did he doubt of the promise of God through vnbeliefe, but was strengthened in the faith, and gaue glorie to God, ²¹ Being fully assured that he which had promised, was also able to doe it.

¹ Then being iustified by faith, we haue peace toward God through our Lord Iesus Christ.

¹⁴ For he is our peace, which hath made of both one, and hath broken the stoppe of the partition wall, ¹⁵ In abrogating through his flesh the hatred, that is, the Lawe of commandements which standeth in ordinances, for to make of twaine one newe man in himselfe, so making peace, ¹⁶ And that he might reconcile both vnto God in one body by his crosse, and slay hatred thereby,

⁷ And the peace of God which passeth all vnderstanding, shall preserue your heartes and mindes in Christ Iesus.
