¹² I haue written to them the great things of my Lawe: but they were counted as a strange thing.

⁶ Keepe them therefore, and doe them; for that is your wisdome, and your vnderstanding in the sight of the people, which shall heare all these ordinances, and shall say, Onely this people is wise, and of vnderstanding, and a great nation. ⁷ For what nation is so great, vnto whome the gods come so neere vnto them, as the Lord our God is neere vnto vs, in all that we call vnto him for? ⁸ And what nation is so great, that hath ordinances and lawes so righteous, as all this Lawe, which I set before you this day?

¹⁵ And they refused his statutes and his couenant, that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies (wherewith he witnessed vnto them) and they followed vanitie, and became vaine, and followed the heathen that were round about them: concerning whome the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them. ¹⁶ Finally they left all the commandements of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, euen two calues, and made a groue, and worshipped all the hoste of heauen, and serued Baal.

¹³ Thou camest downe also vpon mount Sinai, and spakest vnto them from heauen, and gauest them right iudgements, and true lawes, ordinances and good commandements, ¹⁴ And declaredst vnto them thine holy Sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, and ordinances, and lawes, by the hande of Moses thy seruant:

²⁶ Yet they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy Lawe behinde their backes, and slewe thy Prophets (which protested among them to turne them vnto thee) and committed great blasphemies.

¹⁷ Seeing thou hatest to bee reformed, and hast cast my wordes behinde thee?

¹⁸ Open mine eies, that I may see the wonders of thy Lawe.

¹⁹ He sheweth his word vnto Iaakob, his statutes and his iudgements vnto Israel. ²⁰ He hath not dealt so with euery nation, neither haue they knowen his iudgements. Prayse ye the Lord.

²⁰ Haue not I written vnto thee three times in counsels and knowledge,

⁹ That it is a rebellious people, lying children, and children that would not heare the law of the Lord.

¹⁶ Thus sayeth the Lord, Stande in the waies and beholde, and aske for the olde way, which is the good way and walke therein, and yee shall finde rest for your soules: but they saide, We will not walke therein. ¹⁷ Also I set watchmen ouer you, which said, Take heede to the sound of the trumpet: but they said, We will not take heede.

¹¹ And I gaue them my statutes, and declared my iudgements vnto them, which if a man doe, he shall liue in them.

⁶ My people are destroyed for lacke of knowledge: because thou hast refused knowledge, I will also refuse thee, that thou shalt be no Priest to me: and seeing thou hast forgotten the Lawe of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

¹² Wherefore the Lawe is holy, and that commandement is holy, and iust, and good.
