¹ For this Melchi-sedec was King of Salem, the Priest of the most high God, who met Abraham, as he returned from the slaughter of the Kings, and blessed him:

¹⁸ And Melchi-zedek King of Shalem brought foorth bread and wine: and he was a Priest of the most high God. ¹⁹ Therefore he blessed him, saying, Blessed art thou, Abram, of God most high possessour of heauen and earth, ²⁰ And blessed be the most high God, which hath deliuered thine enemies into thine hand. And Abram gaue him tythe of all.

¹⁴ Wherefore the well was called, Beerlahai-roi. lo, it is betweene Kadesh and Bered. ¹⁵ And Hagar bare Abram a sonne, and Abram called his sonnes name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael. ¹⁶ And Abram was foure score and sixe yeere olde, when Hagar bare him Ishmael.

² I will call vnto the most high God, euen to the God, that performeth his promise toward me.

² For in Shalem is his Tabernacle, and his dwelling in Zion.

³⁵ And they remembred that God was their strength, and the most high God their redeemer.

⁵⁶ Yet they tempted, and prouoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies,

² Who raised vp iustice from the East, and called him to his foote? and gaue the nations before him, and subdued the Kings? he gaue them as dust to his sword, and as scattered stubble vnto his bowe. ³ He pursued them, and passed safely by the way that he had not gone with his feete.

² Saw a dreame, which made me afraide, and the thoughtes vpon my bed, and the visions of mine head troubled me.

¹⁸ O King, heare thou, The most high God gaue vnto Nebuchad-nezzar thy father a kingdome, and maiestie, and honour and glory.

²¹ And hee was driuen from the sonnes of men, and his heart was made like the beastes, and his dwelling was with the wilde asses: they fed him with grasse like oxen, and his body was wet with the dewe of the heauen, till he knewe, that the most high God bare rule ouer the kingdome of men, and that he appointeth ouer it, whomsoeuer he pleaseth.

⁶ Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bowe my selfe before the hie God? Shall I come before him with burnt offrings, and with calues of a yeere olde?

⁷ And cryed with a loude voyce, and saide, What haue I to doe with thee, Iesus the Sonne of the most high God? I will that thou sweare to me by God, that thou torment me not.

¹⁷ She followed Paul and vs, and cryed, saying, These men are the seruants of the most high God, which shewe vnto you the way of saluation.

²⁰ Whither the forerunner is for vs entred in, euen Iesus that is made an hie Priest for euer after the order of Melchi-sedec.
