¹⁵ Take heede, that no man fall away from the grace of God: let no roote of bitternes spring vp and trouble you, lest thereby many be defiled.

²¹ Also Moses said vnto Aaron, What did this people vnto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sinne vpon them?

⁹ But take heede to thy selfe, and keepe thy soule diligently, that thou forget not the thinges which thine eyes haue seene, and that they depart not out of thine heart, all the dayes of thy life: but teach them thy sonnes, and thy sonnes sonnes:

¹⁸ That there should not be among you man nor woman, nor familie, nor tribe, which should turne his heart away this day from the Lord our God, to goe and serue the gods of these nations, and that there shoulde not be among you any roote that bringeth forth gall and wormewood,

³² For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the vines of Gomorah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters be bitter.

¹⁸ Notwithstanding, be ye ware of the execrable thing, lest ye make your selues execrable, and in taking of the execrable thing, make also the hoste of Israel execrable, and trouble it.

²⁵ And Ioshua said, In as much as thou hast troubled vs, the Lord shall trouble thee this day: and all Israel threwe stones at him, and burned them with fire, and stoned them with stones. ²⁶ And they cast vpon him a great heape of stones vnto this day: and so the Lord turned from his fierce wrath: therefore hee called the name of that place, The valley of Achor, vnto this day.

¹⁷ Haue we too litle for the wickednesse of Peor, whereof we are not clensed vnto this day, though a plague came vpon the Congregation of the Lord? ¹⁸ Ye also are turned away this day from the Lord: and seeing ye rebell to day against ye Lord, euen to morowe he will be wroth with all the Congregation of Israel. ¹⁹ Notwithstanding if the land of your possession be vncleane, come ye ouer vnto the land of the possession of the Lord, wherein the Lordes Tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among vs: but rebell not against the Lord, nor rebell not against vs in building you an altar, beside the altar of the Lord our God. ²⁰ Did not Achan ye sonne of Zerah trespasse grieuously in the execrable thing, and wrath fell on all the Congregation of Israel? and this man alone perished not in his wickednesse.

¹⁶ And he shall giue Israel vp, because of the sinnes of Ieroboam, who did sinne, and made Israel to sinne.

²³ Keepe thine heart with all diligence: for thereout commeth life.

⁴ What coulde I haue done any more to my vineyard that I haue not done vnto it? why haue I looked that it should bring foorth grapes, and it bringeth foorth wilde grapes?

⁷ Surely the vineyard of the Lord of hostes is the house of Israel, and the men of Iudah are his pleasant plant, and hee looked for iudgement, but beholde oppression: for righteousnesse, but beholde a crying.

²¹ Yet I had planted thee, a noble vine, whose plants were all natural: howe then art thou turned vnto me into the plants of a strange vine?

¹⁶ Ye shall know them by their fruites. Doe men gather grapes of thornes? or figges of thistles? ¹⁷ So euery good tree bringeth foorth good fruite, and a corrupt tree bringeth forth euill fruite. ¹⁸ A good tree can not bring forth euil fruite: neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruite.

³² But I haue prayed for thee, that thy faith faile not: therefore when thou art conuerted, strengthen thy brethren.

³⁰ Moreouer of your owne selues shall men arise speaking peruerse thinges, to drawe disciples after them. ³¹ Therefore watche, and remember, that by the space of three yeres I ceased not to warne euery one, both night and day with teares.

⁶ Your reioycing is not good: knowe ye not that a litle leauen, leaueneth ye whole lumpe?

²⁴ Knowe ye not, that they which runne in a race, runne all, yet one receiueth the price? so runne that ye may obtaine. ²⁵ And euery man that proueth masteries, abstaineth from all things: and they do it to obtaine a corruptible crowne: but we for an vncorruptible. ²⁶ I therefore so runne, not as vncertainely: so fight I, not as one that beateth the ayre. ²⁷ But I beate downe my body, and bring it into subiection, lest by any meanes after that I haue preached to other, I my selfe should be reproued.

¹² Wherefore, let him that thinketh he standeth, take heede lest he fall.

⁸ Loue doeth neuer fall away, though that prophecyings be abolished, or the tongues cease, or knowledge vanish away.

³³ Be not deceiued: euill speakings corrupt good maners.

¹ So we therefore as workers together beseech you, that ye receiue not the grace of God in vaine.

⁵ Proue your selues whether ye are in the faith: examine your selues: knowe yee not your owne selues, howe that Iesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

¹³ And the other Iewes played the hypocrites likewise with him, in so much that Barnabas was led away with them by that their hypocrisie.

⁴ Ye are abolished from Christ: whosoeuer are iustified by the Law, ye are fallen from grace.

³ But fornication, and all vncleannesse, or couetousnesse, let it not be once named among you, as it becommeth Saintes,

⁵ Mortifie therefore your members which are on the earth, fornication, vncleannes, the inordinate affection, euill concupiscence, and couetousnes which is idolatrie.

¹⁶ Stay prophane, and vaine babblings: for they shall encrease vnto more vngodlinesse. ¹⁷ And their worde shall fret as a canker: of which sort is Hymeneus and Philetus,

¹ Wherefore wee ought diligently to giue heede to the thinges which wee haue heard, lest at any time we runne out. ² For if the worde spoken by Angels was stedfast, and euery transgression, and disobedience receiued a iust recompence of reward,

¹² Take heede, brethren, least at any time there be in any of you an euill heart, and vnfaithfull, to depart away from the liuing God.

¹ Let vs feare therefore, least at any time by forsaking the promise of entring into his rest, any of you should seeme to be depriued.

¹¹ Let vs studie therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same ensample of disobedience.

¹¹ And we desire that euery one of you shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope vnto the ende,

²³ And washed in our bodies with pure water, let vs keepe the profession of our hope, without wauering, (for he is faithfull that promised) ²⁴ And let vs consider one another, to prouoke vnto loue, and to good workes, ²⁵ Not forsaking the fellowship that we haue among our selues, as the maner of some is: but let vs exhort one another, and that so much the more, because ye see that the day draweth neere. ²⁶ For if we sinne willingly after that we haue receiued and acknowledged that trueth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sinnes, ²⁷ But a fearefull looking for of iudgement, and violent fire, which shall deuoure the aduersaries. ²⁸ He that despiseth Moses Law, dieth without mercy vnder two, or three witnesses: ²⁹ Of howe much sorer punishment suppose ye shall hee be worthy, which treadeth vnder foote the Sonne of God, and counteth the blood of the Testament as an vnholy thing, wherewith he was sanctified, and doeth despite the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know him that hath sayd, Vengeance belongeth vnto mee: I will recompense, saith the Lord. And againe, The Lord shall iudge his people. ³¹ It is a fearefull thing to fall into the hands of the liuing God. ³² Nowe call to remembrance the dayes that are passed, in the which, after ye had receiued light, ye endured a great fight in afflictions, ³³ Partly while yee were made a gazing stocke both by reproches and afflictions, and partly while ye became companions of them which were so tossed to and from. ³⁴ For both ye sorowed with mee for my bonds, and suffered with ioy the spoyling of your goods, knowing in your selues howe that ye haue in heauen a better, and an enduring substance. ³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence which hath great recompense of reward.

¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, giue rather diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye doe these things, ye shall neuer fall.

¹ Bvt there were false prophets also among the people, euen as there shalbe false teachers among you: which priuily shall bring in damnable heresies, euen denying the Lord, that hath bought them, and bring vpon themselues swift damnation. ² And many shall follow their destructions, by whom the way of trueth shalbe euil spoken of,

¹⁸ For in speaking swelling wordes of vanitie, they beguile with wantonnesse through the lusts of the flesh them that were cleane escaped from them which are wrapped in errour,

¹¹ Seeing therefore that all these thinges must be dissolued, what maner persons ought ye to be in holy conuersation and godlinesse,

¹⁴ Wherefore, beloued, seeing that yee looke for such thinges, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blamelesse.

⁸ Looke to your selues, that we lose not the things which we haue done, but that we may receiue full reward.

²⁰ But, yee beloued, edifie your selues in your most holy faith, praying in the holy Ghost, ²¹ And keepe your selues in the loue of God, looking for the mercie of our Lord Iesus Christ, vnto eternall life.
