²⁶ Let vs not be desirous of vaine glorie, prouoking one another, enuying one another.

¹⁰ But when thou art bidden, goe and sit downe in the lowest roome, that when he that bade thee, cometh, he may say vnto thee, Friende, sit vp hier: then shalt thou haue worship in the presence of them that sit at table with thee.

⁷ So then, neither is hee that planteth any thing, neither hee that watreth, but God that giueth the increase.

¹⁵ If ye bite and deuoure one another, take heede least ye be consumed one of another.

¹ If there be therfore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of loue, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any compassion and mercie, ² Fulfill my ioye, that ye be like minded, hauing the same loue, being of one accorde, and of one iudgement, ³ That nothing be done through contention or vaine glory, but that in meekenesse of minde euery man esteeme other better then himselfe.

¹⁴ But if ye haue bitter enuying and strife in your hearts, reioyce not, neither be liars against the trueth. ¹⁵ This wisedome descendeth not from aboue, but is earthly, sensuall, and deuilish. ¹⁶ For where enuying and strife is, there is sedition, and all maner of euill workes.

¹⁶ But now ye reioyce in your boastings: all such reioycing is euill.

⁵ Likewise ye yonger, submit your selues vnto the elders, and submit your selues euery man, one to another: decke your selues inwardly in lowlinesse of minde: for God resisteth the proude, and giueth grace to the humble.
