²⁴ Then God heard their mone, and God remembred his couenant with Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob.

¹⁴ Notwithstanding the nation, whom they shall serue, will I iudge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. ¹⁵ But thou shalt goe vnto thy fathers in peace, and shalt be buried in a good age. ¹⁶ And in the fourth generation they shall come hither againe: for the wickednes of the Amorites is not yet full. ¹⁷ Also when the sunne went downe, there was a darkenes: and behold, a smoking fornace, and a firebrand, which went betweene those pieces. ¹⁸ In that same day the Lord made a couenant with Abram, saying, Vnto thy seede haue I giuen this lande, from the riuer of Egypt vnto the great riuer, the riuer Euphrates.

⁷ Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee.

¹⁸ Seeing that Abraham shalbe in deede a great and a mightie nation, and all the nations of the earth shalbe blessed in him?

³ Dwell in this lande, and I will be with thee, and will blesse thee: for to thee, and to thy seede I will giue all these countreys: and I will performe the othe which I sware vnto Abraham thy father.

²⁴ And the Lord appeared vnto him the same night, and sayde, I am the God of Abraham thy father: feare not, for I am with thee, and wil blesse thee, and will multiplie thy seede for my seruant Abrahams sake.

¹² Then he dreamed, and behold, there stoode a ladder vpon the earth, and the top of it reached vp to heauen: and loe, the Angels of God went vp and downe by it. ¹³ And behold, the Lord stoode aboue it, and sayd, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Izhak: the land, vpon the which thou sleepest, wil I giue thee and thy seede. ¹⁴ And thy seede shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the West, and to the East, and to the North, and to the South, and in thee and in thy seede shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

²⁸ Then said he, Thy name shalbe called Iaakob no more, but Israel: because thou hast had power with God, thou shalt also preuaile with men.

² And God spake vnto Israel in a vision by night, saying, Iaakob, Iaakob. Who answered, I am here. ³ Then hee sayde, I am God, the God of thy father, feare not to goe downe into Egypt: for I will there make of thee a great nation. ⁴ I wil go downe with thee into Egypt, and I will also bring thee vp againe, and Ioseph shall put his hand vpon thine eyes.

⁵ So I haue also hearde the groning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keepe in bondage, and haue remembred my couenant.

¹⁸ And when the Lord had raysed them vp Iudges, the Lord was with the Iudge, and deliuered them out of the hande of their enemies all the dayes of the Iudge (for the Lord had compassion on their gronings, because of them that oppressed them and tormented them)

⁸ And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a couenant with him, to giue vnto his seede the lande of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, and Perizzites, and Iebusites, and Girgashites, and hast performed thy wordes, because thou art iust. ⁹ Thou hast also considered the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the red Sea,

²⁷ Therefore thou deliueredst them into the hande of their enemies that vexed them: yet in the time of their affliction, when they cryed vnto thee, thou heardest them from the heauen, and through thy great mercies thou gauest them sauiours, who saued them out of the hande of their aduersaries. ²⁸ But when they had rest, they returned to doe euill before thee: therefore leftest thou them in the hande of their enemies, so that they had the dominion ouer them, yet when they conuerted and cryed vnto thee, thou heardest them from heauen, and deliueredst them according to thy great mercies many times,

⁵ They called vpon thee, and were deliuered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

²⁴ For he hath not despised nor abhorred ye affliction of the poore: neither hath he hid his face from him, but when he called vnto him, he heard.

¹¹ Let the sighing of the prisoners come before thee: according to thy mightie arme preserue the children of death,

²⁰ That he might heare the mourning of the prisoner, and deliuer the children of death:

⁶ Ye seede of Abraham his seruant, ye children of Iaakob, which are his elect. ⁷ He is the Lord our God: his iudgements are through all the earth. ⁸ He hath alway remembred his couenant and promise, that he made to a thousand generations, ⁹ Euen that which he made with Abraham, and his othe vnto Izhak: ¹⁰ And since hath confirmed it to Iaakob for a lawe, and to Israel for an euerlasting couenant, ¹¹ Saying, Vnto thee will I giue the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance. ¹² Albeit they were fewe in nomber, yea, very fewe, and strangers in the land, ¹³ And walked about from nation to nation, from one kingdome to another people,

⁴² For he remembred his holy promise to Abraham his seruant,

⁴⁵ And he remembred his couenant towarde them and repented according to the multitude of his mercies,

³ When I called, then thou heardest me, and hast encreased strength in my soule.

⁷² That he might shewe mercie towards our fathers, and remember his holy couenant, ⁷³ And the othe which he sware to our father Abraham.
