¹ Thou shalt not receiue a false tale, neyther shalt thou put thine hande with the wicked, to be a false witnes.

¹⁶ Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour.

⁷ Thou shalt keepe thee farre from a false matter, and shalt not slaye the innocent and the righteous: for I will not iustifie a wicked man.

¹¹ Ye shall not steale, neither deale falsely, neither lie one to another.

¹⁶ Thou shalt not walke about with tales among thy people. Thou shalt not stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord.

¹⁶ If a false witnesse rise vp against a man to accuse him of trespasse, ¹⁷ Then both the men which striue together, shall stand before ye Lord, euen before the Priests and the Iudges, which shall be in those daies, ¹⁸ And the Iudges shall make diligent inquisition: and if the witnesse be found false, and hath giuen false witnes against his brother, ¹⁹ Then shall yee doe vnto him as hee had thought to doe vnto his brother: so thou shalt take euil away forth of the middes of thee. ²⁰ And the rest shall heare this, and feare, and shall henceforth commit no more any such wickednes among you. ²¹ Therefore thine eye shall have no compassion, but life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foote for foote.

³ And the king sayde, But where is thy masters sonne? Then Ziba answered the King, Beholde, he remayneth in Ierusalem: for he sayde, This day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdome of my father.

²⁷ And he hath accused thy seruant vnto my lorde the king: but my lorde the king is as an Angel of God: doe therefore thy pleasure.

¹⁰ And set two wicked men before him, and let them witnesse against him, saying, Thou diddest blaspheme God and the King: then cary him out, and stone him that he may dye. ¹¹ And the men of his citie, euen the Elders and gouernours, which dwelt in his citie, did as Iezebel had sent vnto them: as it was written in the letters, which she had sent vnto them. ¹² They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth among the chiefe of the people, ¹³ And there came two wicked men, and sate before him: and the wicked men witnessed against Naboth in the presence of the people saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the King. Then they caried him away out of the citie, and stoned him with stones, that he dyed.

³ He that slandereth not with his tongue, nor doeth euill to his neighbour, nor receiueth a false report against his neighbour.

¹² Giue me not vnto the lust of mine aduersaries: for there are false witnesses risen vp against me, and such as speake cruelly.

¹¹ Cruell witnesses did rise vp: they asked of me things that I knewe not.

⁵ Him that priuily slandereth his neighbour, wil I destroy: him that hath a proude looke and hie heart, I cannot suffer.

³ What doeth thy deceitfull tongue bring vnto thee? or what doeth it auaile thee?

¹⁹ A false witnesse that speaketh lyes, and him that rayseth vp contentions among brethren.

¹⁸ He that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and he that inuenteth slaunder, is a foole.

¹⁷ He that speaketh trueth, will shewe righteousnes: but a false witnes vseth deceite.

⁴ The wicked giueth heed to false lippes, and a lyer hearkeneth to the naughtie tongue.

⁵ A false witnes shall not be vnpunished: and he that speaketh lyes, shall not escape.

⁹ A false witnes shall not be vnpunished: and he that speaketh lyes, shall perish.

²⁸ A wicked witnes mocketh at iudgement, and the mouth of ye wicked swalloweth vp iniquitie.

²⁸ A false witnes shall perish: but hee that heareth, speaketh continually.

¹⁸ A man that beareth false witnes against his neighbour, is like an hammer and a sword, and a sharpe arrowe.

²³ As the Northwinde driueth away the raine, so doeth an angry countenance the slandering tongue.

¹⁰ For I had heard the railing of many, and feare on euery side. Declare, said they, and wee wil declare it: all my familiars watched for mine halting, saying, It may be that he is deceiued: so we shall preuaile against him, and we shall execute our vengeance vpon him.

¹⁸ He sayd to him, Which? And Iesus sayde, These, Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnesse.

⁵⁹ Nowe the chiefe Priestes and the Elders, and all the whole councill sought false witnesse against Iesus, to put him to death. ⁶⁰ But they founde none, and though many false witnesses came, yet founde they none: but at the last came two false witnesses, ⁶¹ And saide, This man saide, I can destroie the Temple of God, and build it in three daies.

¹⁴ And if this matter come before the gouernour to be heard, we will perswade him, and so vse the matter that you shall not neede to care. ¹⁵ So they tooke the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is noysed among the Iewes vnto this day.

¹⁴ The souldiers likewise demaunded of him, saying, And what shall we doe? And he saide vnto them, Doe violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely, and be content with your wages.

⁸ And Zaccheus stood forth, and said vnto the Lord, Beholde, Lord, the halfe of my goods I giue to the poore: and if I haue taken from any man by forged cauillation, I restore him foure folde.

¹¹ Then they suborned men, which saide, We haue heard him speake blasphemous wordes against Moses, and God. ¹² Thus they mooued the people and the Elders, and the Scribes: and running vpon him, caught him, and brought him to the Councill, ¹³ And set forth false witnesses, which sayd, This man ceasseth not to speake blasphemous wordes against this holy place, and the Law.

⁸ And (as we are blamed, and as some affirme, that we say) why doe we not euil, that good may come thereof? whose damnation is iust.

²⁵ Wherefore cast off lying, and speake euery man truth vnto his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

³ Without naturall affection, truce breakers, false accusers, intemperate, fierce, no louers at all of them which are good,

¹⁶ Hauing a good coscience, that whe they speake euill of you as of euill doers, they may be ashamed, which slander your good conuersation in Christ.

¹⁰ Then I heard a loude voyce in heauen, saying, Now is saluation, and strength, and the kingdome of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast downe, which accused them before our God day and night.
