¹⁴ Thou shalt not commit adulterie.

²⁰ Moreouer, thou shalt not giue thy selfe to thy neighbours wife by carnall copulation, to be defiled with her.

¹⁰ And the man that committeth adulterie with another mans wife, because he hath comitted adulterie with his neighbours wife, the adulterer and the adulteresse shall die the death.

¹⁸ Neither shalt thou commit adulterie.

⁴ Then Dauid sent messengers, and tooke her away: and she came vnto him and he lay with her: (now she was purified from her vncleannes) and she returned vnto her house. ⁵ And the woman conceiued: therefore shee sent and tolde Dauid, and sayd, I am with childe.

²⁷ So when the mourning was past, Dauid sent and tooke her into his house, and shee became his wife, and bare him a sonne: but ye thing that Dauid had done, displeased the Lord.

¹⁵ Whose wayes are crooked and they are lewde in their paths. ¹⁶ And it shall deliuer thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger, which flattereth with her wordes. ¹⁷ Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the couenant of her God. ¹⁸ Surely her house tendeth to death, and her paths vnto the dead.

²⁴ To keepe thee from the wicked woman, and from ye flatterie of ye tongue of a strange woman. ²⁵ Desire not her beautie in thine heart, neither let her take thee with her eye lids. ²⁶ For because of the whorish woman a man is brought to a morsell of bread, and a woman wil hunt for the precious life of a man. ²⁷ Can a man take fire in his bosome, and his clothes not be burnt? ²⁸ Or can a man go vpon coales, and his feete not be burnt? ²⁹ So he that goeth in to his neighbours wife, shall not be innocent, whosoeuer toucheth her. ³⁰ Men do not despise a thiefe, when he stealeth, to satisfie his soule, because he is hungrie. ³¹ But if he be founde, he shall restore seuen folde, or he shall giue all the substance of his house. ³² But he that committeth adulterie with a woman, he is destitute of vnderstanding: he that doeth it, destroyeth his owne soule. ³³ He shall finde a wounde and dishonour, and his reproch shall neuer be put away. ³⁴ For ielousie is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance. ³⁵ He cannot beare the sight of any raunsome: neither will he consent, though thou augment the giftes.

¹⁸ Come, let vs take our fill of loue vntill the morning: let vs take our pleasure in daliance. ¹⁹ For mine husband is not at home: he is gone a iourney farre off. ²⁰ He hath taken with him a bagge of siluer, and will come home at the day appointed. ²¹ Thus with her great craft she caused him to yeelde, and with her flattering lips she entised him. ²² And he followed her straight wayes, as an oxe that goeth to the slaughter, and as a foole to the stockes for correction, ²³ Till a dart strike through his liuer, as a bird hasteth to the snare, not knowing that he is in danger. ²⁴ Heare me now therefore, O children, and hearken to the wordes of my mouth. ²⁵ Let not thine heart decline to her wayes: wander thou not in her paths. ²⁶ For shee hath caused many to fall downe wounded, and the strong men are all slaine by her. ²⁷ Her house is the way vnto ye graue, which goeth downe to the chambers of death.

⁸ They rose vp in the morning like fed horses: for euery man neyed after his neighbours wife. ⁹ Shall I not visite for these things, saith the Lord? Shall not my soule be auenged on such a nation as this?

²² And al they of the captiuitie of Iudah, that are in Babel, shall take vp this curse against them, and say, The Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whome the King of Babel burnt in the fire, ²³ Because they haue committed vilenie in Israel, and haue committed adulterie with their neighbours wiues, and haue spoken lying words in my Name, which I haue not commanded them, euen I knowe it, and testifie it, saith the Lord.

⁵ And I will come neere to you to iudgement, and I will be a swift witnesse against the southsayers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that wrongfully keepe backe the hirelings wages, and vexe the widowe, and the fatherlesse, and oppresse the stranger, and feare not me, sayth the Lord of hostes.

²⁷ Ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of olde time, Thou shalt not commit adulterie. ²⁸ But I say vnto you, that whosoeuer looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adulterie with her already in his heart.

¹⁸ He sayd to him, Which? And Iesus sayde, These, Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnesse.

¹¹ And he sayd vnto them, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife and marrie another, committeth adulterie against her. ¹² And if a woman put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adulterie.

² For the woman which is in subiection to a man, is bound by the Lawe to the man, while he liueth: but if the man bee dead, shee is deliuered from the lawe of the man. ³ So then, if while the man liueth, she taketh another man, she shalbe called an adulteresse: but if the man be dead, she is free from the Law, so that shee is not an adulteresse, though shee take another man.

⁹ For this, Thou shalt not commit adulterie, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steale, Thou shalt not beare false witnes, Thou shalt not couet: and if there be any other commandement, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, euen in this, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.

³ But fornication, and all vncleannesse, or couetousnesse, let it not be once named among you, as it becommeth Saintes, ⁴ Neither filthinesse, neither foolish talking, neither iesting, which are things not comely, but rather giuing of thankes. ⁵ For this ye know, that no whoremonger, neither vncleane person, nor couetous person, which is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdome of Christ, and of God.

⁴ Mariage is honorable among all, and the bed vndefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will iudge.

⁴ Ye adulterers and adulteresses, knowe ye not that the amitie of the world is the enimitie of God? Whosoeuer therefore will be a friend of the world, maketh himselfe the enemie of God.

⁸ But the fearful and vnbeleeuing, and the abominable and murtherers, and whoremogers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall haue their part in the lake, which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
