²⁰ And Mordecai wrote these words, and sent letters vnto all the Iewes that were through all the prouinces of the King Ahashuerosh, both neere and farre,

¹⁴ And the Lord sayde to Moses, Write this for a remembrance in the booke, and rehearse it to Ioshua: for I will vtterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from vnder heauen.

¹⁹ Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouthes, that this song may be my witnesse against the children of Israel. ²⁰ For I will bring them into the land (which I sware vnto their fathers) that floweth with milke and honie, and they shall eate, and fil them selues, and waxe fat: then shall they turne vnto other gods, and serue them, and contemne me, and breake my couenant. ²¹ And then when many aduersities and tribulations shall come vpon them, this song shall answere them to their face as a witnesse: for it shall not be forgotte out of the mouthes of their posteritie: for I knowe their imagination, which they goe about euen now, before I haue brought them into the lande which I sware. ²² Moses therefore wrote this song the same day and taught it the children of Israel.

¹² Remember his marueilous workes that he hath done, his wonders, and the iudgements of his mouth,

¹ In the dayes of Ahashuerosh (this is Ahashuerosh that reigned, from India euen vnto Ethiopia, ouer an hundreth, and seuen and twentie prouinces)

²² For he sent letters into all the prouinces of the King, into euery prouince according to the writing thereof, and to euery people after their language, that euery man should beare rule in his owne house, and that he should publish it in the language of that same people.

¹² Then were the Kings scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first moneth, and there was written (according to all that Haman commanded) vnto the Kings officers, and to the captaines that were ouer euery prouince, and to the rulers of euery people, and to euery prouince, according to the writing thereof, and to euery people according to their language: in the name of King Ahashuerosh was it written, and sealed with the Kings ring.

⁹ Then were the Kings Scribes called at the same time, euen in the thirde moneth, that is the moneth Siuan, on the three and twentieth day thereof: and it was written, according to all as Mordecai commanded, vnto the Iewes and to the princes, and captaines, and rulers of the prouinces, which were from India euen vnto Ethiopia, an hundreth and seuen and twentie prouinces, vnto euery prouince, according to the writing thereof, and to euery people after their speache, and to the Iewes, according to their writing, and according to their language.

¹ A song of degrees, or Psalme of David. If the Lord had not bene on our side, (may Israel now say) ² If the Lord had not bene on our side, when men rose vp against vs, ³ They had then swallowed vs vp quicke, when their wrath was kindled against vs.

⁴ Generation shall praise thy works vnto generation, and declare thy power. ⁵ I wil meditate of the beautie of thy glorious maiestie, and thy wonderfull workes, ⁶ And they shall speake of the power of thy fearefull actes, and I will declare thy greatnes. ⁷ They shall breake out into the mention of thy great goodnes, and shall sing aloude of thy righteousnesse. ⁸ The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great mercie. ⁹ The Lord is good to all, and his mercies are ouer all his workes. ¹⁰ All thy workes prayse thee, O Lord, and thy Saints blesse thee. ¹¹ They shewe the glory of thy kingdome, and speake of thy power, ¹² To cause his power to be knowen to the sonnes of men, and the glorious renoume of his kingdome.

¹⁰ Who deliuered vs from so great a death, and doeth deliuer vs: in whom we trust, that yet hereafter he will deliuer vs, ¹¹ So that ye labour together in prayer for vs, that for the gift bestowed vpon vs for many, thankes may be giuen by many persons for vs.
