²⁶ It is farre off, what may it be? and it is a profound deepenesse, who can finde it?

¹⁸ And when Delilah sawe that he had tolde her all his heart, she sent, and called for the Princes of ye Philistims, saying, Come vp once againe: for he hath shewed mee all his heart. Then the Princes of the Philistims came vp vnto her, and brought the money in their handes. ¹⁹ And she made him sleepe vpon her knees, and she called a man, and made him to shaue off the seuen lockes of his head, and shee began to vexe him, and his strength was gone from him. ²⁰ Then she said, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson. And hee awoke out of his sleepe, and thought, I will go out now as at other times, and shake my selfe, but he knewe not that the Lord was departed from him. ²¹ Therefore the Philistims tooke him, and put out his eyes, and brought him downe to Azzah, and bounde him with fetters: and hee did grinde in the prison house.

¹⁶ And it shall deliuer thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger, which flattereth with her wordes.

¹⁸ Surely her house tendeth to death, and her paths vnto the dead. ¹⁹ All they that goe vnto her, returne not againe, neither take they holde of the wayes of life.

³ For the lippes of a strange woman drop as an honie combe, and her mouth is more soft then oyle. ⁴ But the end of her is bitter as wormewood, and sharpe as a two edged sworde. ⁵ Her feete goe downe to death, and her steps take holde on hell.

²¹ Thus with her great craft she caused him to yeelde, and with her flattering lips she entised him. ²² And he followed her straight wayes, as an oxe that goeth to the slaughter, and as a foole to the stockes for correction, ²³ Till a dart strike through his liuer, as a bird hasteth to the snare, not knowing that he is in danger. ²⁴ Heare me now therefore, O children, and hearken to the wordes of my mouth. ²⁵ Let not thine heart decline to her wayes: wander thou not in her paths. ²⁶ For shee hath caused many to fall downe wounded, and the strong men are all slaine by her. ²⁷ Her house is the way vnto ye graue, which goeth downe to the chambers of death.

¹⁸ But he knoweth not, that ye dead are there, and that her ghestes are in the depth of hell.

¹⁴ The mouth of strage women is as a deepe pit: he with whom the Lord is angry, shall fall therein.

²⁷ For a whore is as a deepe ditche, and a strange woman is as a narrowe pitte. ²⁸ Also she lyeth in wait as for a praye, and she increaseth the transgressers among men.

²⁶ Surely to a man that is good in his sight, God giueth wisdome, and knowledge, and ioy: but to the sinner he giueth paine, to gather, and to heape to giue to him that is good before God: this is also vanitie, and vexation of the spirit.
