¹⁰ When thou commest neere vnto a citie to fight against it, thou shalt offer it peace.

¹⁸ Then shee spake thus, They spake in the olde time, saying, They shoulde aske of Abel. and so haue they continued. ¹⁹ I am one of them, that are peaceable and faithful in Israel: and thou goest about to destroy a citie, and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou deuoure the inheritance of the Lord? ²⁰ And Ioab answered, and said, God forbid, God forbid it me, that I should deuoure, or destroy it. ²¹ The matter is not so, but a man of mout Ephraim (Sheba ye sonne of Bichri by name) hath lift vp his had against ye King, euen against Dauid: deliuer vs him onely, and I will depart from the citie. And the woman saide vnto Ioab, Beholde, his head shalbe throwen to thee ouer the wall. ²² Then the woman went vnto all the people with her wisedome, and they cut off the head of Sheba the sonne of Bichri, and cast it to Ioab: the he blewe the trumpet, and they retired from the citie, euery man to his tent: and Ioab returned to Ierusalem vnto the King.

¹⁹ I create the fruite of the lips, to be peace: peace vnto them that are farre off, and to them that are neere, sayth the Lord: for I will heale him.

¹⁰ And I wil cut off the charets from Ephraim, and the horse from Ierusalem: the bowe of the battel shalbe broken, and he shall speake peace vnto the heathen, and his dominion shalbe from sea vnto sea, and from the Riuer to the end of the land.

⁵ And into whatsoeuer house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. ⁶ And if the sonne of peace be there, your peace shall rest vpon him: if not, it shall turne to you againe.

³⁶ Ye know the worde which God hath sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Iesus Christ, which is Lord of all:

¹⁸ And all things are of God, which hath reconciled vs vnto himselfe by Iesus Christ, and hath giuen vnto vs the ministerie of reconciliation.

¹⁷ And came, and preached peace to you which were afarre off, and to them that were neere.
