² And when he was called foorth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that we haue obtained great quietnesse through thee, and that many worthy things are done vnto this nation through thy prouidence,

³ For the wicked hath made boast of his owne heartes desire, and the couetous blesseth himselfe: he contemneth the Lord.

² They speake deceitfully euery one with his neighbour, flattering with their lips, and speake with a double heart. ³ The Lord cut off all flattering lippes, and the tongue that speaketh proude things:

²⁸ A false tongue hateth the afflicted, and a flattering mouth causeth ruine.

⁵ A man that flattereth his neighbour, spreadeth a net for his steps.
