¹⁰ And sayde, O full of all subtiltie and all mischiefe, the childe of the deuill, and enemie of all righteousnesse, wilt thou not cease to peruert the straight waies of the Lord?

¹⁵ I will also put enimitie betweene thee and the woman, and betweene thy seede and her seede. He shall breake thine head, and thou shalt bruise his heele.

¹⁹ For I knowe him that he will commande his sonnes and his houshold after him, that they keepe the way of the Lord, to doe righteousnesse and iudgement, that the Lord may bring vpon Abraham that he hath spoken vnto him.

⁶ And he lift vp his heart vnto the wayes of the Lord, and he tooke away moreouer the hie places and the groues out of Iudah.

³ This is euill among all that is done vnder the sunne, that there is one condition to all, and also the heart of the sonnes of men is full of euill, and madnes is in their heartes whiles they liue, and after that, they goe to the dead.

³⁶ And the burden of the Lord shall yee mention no more: for euery mans worde shall bee his burden: for ye haue peruerted the words of the liuing God, the Lord of hostes our God.

⁹ Ephraim shall say, What haue I to doe any more with idoles? I haue heard him, and looked vpon him: I am like a greene firre tree: vpon me is thy fruite founde. [ (Hosea 14:10) Who is wise, and he shall vnderstande these things? and prudent, and he shall knowe them? for the wayes of the Lord are righteous, and the iust shall walke in them: but the wicked shall fall therein. ]

⁷ Now when he sawe many of the Pharises, and of the Sadduces come to his baptisme, he said vnto them, O generations of vipers, who hath forewarned you to flee from the anger to come?

³⁸ And the field is the worlde, and the good seede are the children of the kingdome, and the tares are the children of that wicked one.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come euil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, slaunders.

¹³ Wo therefore be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites, because ye shut vp the kingdome of heauen before men: for ye your selues go not in, neither suffer ye them that would enter, to come in.

²⁵ Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye make cleane the vtter side of the cup, and of the platter: but within they are ful of briberie and excesse. ²⁶ Thou blinde Pharise, cleanse first the inside of the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be cleane also. ²⁷ Wo be to you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye are like vnto whited tombes, which appeare beautifull outward, but are within full of dead mens bones, and all filthines. ²⁸ So are ye also: for outwarde ye appeare righteous vnto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisie and iniquitie. ²⁹ Wo be vnto you, Scribes and Pharises, hypocrites: for ye build the tombes of the Prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, ³⁰ And say, If we had bene in the dayes of our fathers, we would not haue bene partners with them in the blood of the Prophets. ³¹ So then ye be witnesses vnto your selues, that ye are the children of them that murthered the Prophets. ³² Fulfill ye also ye measure of your fathers. ³³ O serpents, the generation of vipers, howe should ye escape the damnation of hell!

³⁹ And the Lord saide to him, In deede yee Pharises make cleane the outside of the cuppe, and of the platter: but the inwarde part is full of rauening and wickednesse.

⁵² Wo be to you, Lawyers: for ye haue taken away the key of knowledge: ye entred not in your selues, and them that came in, ye forbade.

²³ He said, I am the voyce of him that cryeth in the wildernesse, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the Prophet Esaias.

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the deuill, and the lustes of your father ye will doe: hee hath bene a murtherer from the beginning, and abode not in the trueth, because there is no trueth in him. When hee speaketh a lie, then speaketh hee of his owne: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.

²⁰ Then saide Peter vnto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou thinkest that the gift of God may be obteined with money. ²¹ Thou hast neither part nor fellowship in this businesse: for thine heart is not right in the sight of God. ²² Repent therefore of this thy wickednes, and pray God, that if it be possible, the thought of thine heart may be forgiuen thee. ²³ For I see that thou art in the gall of bitternes, and in the bonde of iniquitie.

²⁵ The same was instructed in the way of the Lord, and hee spake feruently in the Spirite, and taught diligently the things of the Lord, and knew but the baptisme of Iohn onely. ²⁶ And he began to speake boldely in the Synagogue. Whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they tooke him vnto them, and expounded vnto him the way of God more perfectly.

³⁰ Moreouer of your owne selues shall men arise speaking peruerse thinges, to drawe disciples after them.

³ But I feare least as the serpent beguiled Eue through his subtiltie, so your mindes shoulde be corrupt from the simplicitie that is in Christ.

⁷ Which is not another Gospel, saue that there be some which trouble you, and intend to peruert the Gospel of Christ.

¹⁵ Which forsaking the right way, haue gone astray, folowing the way of Balaam, the sonne of Bosor, which loued the wages of vnrighteousnes.

⁸ He that comitteth sinne, is of the deuil: for the deuill sinneth from the beginning: for this purpose was made manifest that Sonne of God, that he might loose the workes of the deuil.
