²³ Therefore the Lord had mercy on them and pitied them, and had respect vnto them because of his couenant with Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from him as yet.

³ Therefore the Lord saide, My Spirit shall not alway striue with man, because he is but flesh, and his dayes shalbe an hundreth and twentie yeeres.

¹⁶ And I will make thy seede, as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seede be numbred. ¹⁷ Arise, walke through the land, in ye length thereof, and breadth thereof: for I will giue it vnto thee.

² And I will make my couenant betweene me and thee, and I will multiplie thee exceedingly. ³ Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying, ⁴ Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations, ⁵ Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.

⁷ Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee. ⁸ And I will giue thee and thy seede after thee the land, wherein thou art a stranger, euen all the land of Canaan, for an euerlasting possession, and I will be their God.

²⁴ Then God heard their mone, and God remembred his couenant with Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob. ²⁵ So God looked vpon the children of Israel, and God had respect vnto them.

⁶ Moreouer he saide, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Izhak, and the God of Iaakob. Then Moses hid his face: for he was afraid to looke vpon God. ⁷ Then the Lord said, I haue surely seene the trouble of my people, which are in Egypt, and haue heard their crie, because of their taskemasters: for I knowe their sorowes.

¹³ Remember Abraham, Izhak, and Israel thy seruants, to whom thou swarest by thine owne selfe, and saydest vnto them, I wil multiply your seede, as the starres of the heauen, and all this land, that I haue spoken of, wil I giue vnto your seede, and they shall inherit it for euer. ¹⁴ Then the Lord changed his minde from the euil, which he threatned to do vnto his people.

¹⁹ And he answered, I wil make all my good go before thee, and I wil proclaime the Name of the Lord before thee: for I will shewe mercy to whom I will shewe mercy, and will haue compassion on whom I will haue compassion.

⁶ So the Lord passed before his face, and cried, The Lord, the Lord, strong, mercifull, and gracious, slowe to anger, and abundant in goodnesse and trueth, ⁷ Reseruing mercy for thousands, forgiuing iniquitie, and transgression and sinne, and not making the wicked innocent, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon ye children, and vpon childrens children, vnto the third and fourth generation.

⁴² Then I will remember my couenant with Iaakob, and my couenant also with Izhak, and also my couenant with Abraham will I remember, and will remember the land.

³⁶ For the Lord shall iudge his people, and repent towarde his seruants, when hee seeth that their power is gone, and none shut vp in holde nor left abroad.

¹⁶ Then they put away the strange gods from among them and serued the Lord: and his soule was grieued for the miserie of Israel.

²⁸ But haue thou respect vnto the prayer of thy seruant, and to his supplication, O Lord, my God, to heare the cry and prayer which thy seruant prayeth before thee this day:

²⁷ Yet the Lord had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from vnder the heauen: therefore he preserued them by the hand of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash.

¹⁸ Therefore the Lord was exceeding wroth with Israel, and put them out of his sight, and none was left but the tribe of Iudah onely.

²⁰ Therefore certainly the wrath of the Lord was against Ierusalem and Iudah vntill he cast them out of his sight. And Zedekiah rebelled against the King of Babel.

³¹ Yet for thy great mercies thou hast not consumed them, neither forsaken them: for thou art a gracious and mercifull God. ³² Nowe therefore our God, thou great God, mightie and terrible, that keepest couenant and mercie, let not all the affliction that hath come vnto vs, seeme a litle before thee, that is, to our Kings, to our princes, and to our Priests, and to our Prophets, and to our fathers, and to all thy people since the time of the Kings of Asshur vnto this day.

¹¹ Cast mee not away from thy presence, and take not thine holy Spirit from me.

¹⁵ But thou, O Lord, art a pitifull God and mercifull, slowe to anger and great in kindenes and trueth.

⁸ He hath alway remembred his couenant and promise, that he made to a thousand generations,

¹⁸ Yet therefore will the Lord waite, that he may haue mercy vpon you, and therefore wil he be exalted, that hee may haue compassion vpon you: for the Lord is the God of iudgement. Blessed are all they that waite for him. ¹⁹ Surely a people shall dwell in Zion, and in Ierusalem: thou shalt weepe no more: he wil certainly haue mercy vpon thee at the voyce of thy crye: when he heareth thee, he wil answere thee.

¹⁵ And after that I haue plucked them out, I will returne, and haue compassion on them, and will bring againe euery man to his heritage, and euery man to his land.

³² But though he sende affliction, yet will he haue compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

¹⁸ Who is a God like vnto thee, that taketh away iniquitie, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage! He reteineth not his wrath for euer, because mercie pleaseth him. ¹⁹ He will turne againe, and haue compassion vpon vs: he will subdue our iniquities, and cast all their sinnes into the bottome of the sea. ²⁰ Thou wilt perfourme thy trueth to Iaakob, and mercie to Abraham, as thou hast sworne vnto our fathers in olde time.

⁴¹ Then shall he say vnto them on ye left hand, Depart from me ye cursed, into euerlasting fire, which is prepared for the deuill and his angels.

⁵⁴ Hee hath vpholden Israel his seruaunt to be mindefull of his mercie ⁵⁵ (As hee hath spoken to our fathers, to wit, to Abraham, and his seede) for euer.

⁷² That he might shewe mercie towards our fathers, and remember his holy couenant, ⁷³ And the othe which he sware to our father Abraham.

⁹ Which shall be punished with euerlasting perdition, from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power,
