²¹ Prouiding for honest thinges, not onely before the Lord, but also before men.

¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good workes, and glorifie your Father which is in heauen.

¹ Take heede that ye giue not your almes before men, to be seene of them, or els ye shall haue no reward of your Father which is in heaue.

⁴ That thine almes may be in secret, and thy Father that seeth in secret, hee will rewarde thee openly.

⁵ All their workes they doe for to be seene of men: for they make their phylacteries broad, and make long the frindges of their garments,

¹⁷ Recompence to no man euill for euill: procure things honest in the sight of all men.

¹⁸ For whosoeuer in these things serueth Christ, is acceptable vnto God, and is approoued of men.

¹⁷ For wee are not as many, which make marchandise of the woorde of God: but as of sinceritie, but as of God in ye sight of God speake we in Christ.

⁹ Wherefore also we couet, that both dwelling at home, and remouing from home, we may be acceptable to him. ¹⁰ For we must all appeare before the iudgement seate of Christ, that euery man may receiue the things which are done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or euill. ¹¹ Knowing therefore that terrour of the Lord, we persuade men, and we are made manifest vnto God, and I trust also that we are made manifest in your consciences.

⁸ Furthermore, brethre, whatsoeuer things are true, whatsoeuer things are honest, whatsoeuer thinges are iust, whatsoeuer thinges are pure, whatsoeuer thinges are worthie loue, whatsoeuer things are of good report, if there be any vertue, or if there be any praise, thinke on these things,

¹⁴ I will therefore that the yonger women marie, and beare children, and gouerne the house, and giue none occasion to the aduersary to speake euill.

⁵ That they be temperate, chaste, keeping at home, good and subiect vnto their husbands, that the word of God be not euill spoken of. ⁶ Exhort yong men likewise, that they bee sober minded. ⁷ In all things shewe thy selfe an ensample of good woorkes with vncorrupt doctrine, with grauitie, integritie, ⁸ And with the wholesome woorde, which can not be condemned, that hee which withstandeth, may be ashamed, hauing nothing concerning you to speake euill of.

¹² And haue your conuersation honest among the Gentiles, that they which speake euill of you as of euill doers, may by your good woorkes which they shall see, glorifie God in the day of visitation.
