⁵ Casting downe the imaginations, and euery high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captiuitie euery thought to the obedience of Christ,

²¹ And the Lord smellled a sauour of rest, and the Lord said in his heart, I will hencefoorth curse the ground no more for mans cause: for the imagination of mans heart is euill, euen from his youth: neither will I smite any more all things liuing, as I haue done.

² And Pharaoh saide, Who is the Lord, that I should heare his voyce, and let Israel go? I knowe not the Lord, neither will I let Israel goe.

¹⁶ And in deede, for this cause haue I appointed thee, to shewe my power in thee, and to declare my Name throughout all the world. ¹⁷ Yet thou exaltest thy selfe against my people, and lettest them not goe.

⁹ Beware that there be not a wicked thought in thine heart, to say, The seuenth yeere, the yeere of freedome is at hand: therefore it grieueth thee to looke on thy poore brother, and thou giuest him nought, and he crie vnto the Lord against thee, so that sinne be in thee:

²² Whome hast thou railed on? and whome hast thou blasphemed? and against whome hast thou exalted thy voyce, and lifted vp thine eyes on hie? euen against the Holie one of Israel.

²⁸ And because thou ragest against me, and thy tumult is come vp to mine eares, I will put mine hooke in thy nostrels, and my bridle in thy lippes, and will bring thee backe againe the same way thou camest.

¹¹ Behold now, his strength is in his loynes, and his force is in the nauil of his belly. ¹² When hee taketh pleasure, his taile is like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapt together.

⁶ Therefore I abhorre my selfe, and repent in dust and ashes.

⁴ The wicked is so proude that hee seeketh not for God: hee thinketh alwayes, There is no God.

²⁷ Thus thou wilt saue the poore people, and wilt cast downe the proude lookes.

⁴⁴ As soone as they heare, they shall obey me: the strangers shall be in subiection to me.

² The Lord shall send the rod of thy power out of Zion: be thou ruler in the middes of thine enemies. ³ Thy people shall come willingly at the time of assembling thine armie in holy beautie: the youth of thy wombe shalbe as the morning dewe.

² Thou knowest my sitting and my rising: thou vnderstandest my thought afarre off.

²⁶ The thoughts of ye wicked are abomination to the Lord: but the pure haue pleasant wordes.

⁹ The wicked thought of a foole is sinne, and the scorner is an abomination vnto men.

¹¹ The hie looke of man shall be humbled, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord onely shall be exalted in that day. ¹² For the day of the Lord of hostes is vpon all the proude and hautie, and vpon all that is exalted: and it shalbe made lowe.

¹⁷ And the hautinesse of men shalbe brought low, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord shall onely be exalted in that day.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his wayes, and the vnrighteous his owne imaginations, and returne vnto the Lord, and he wil haue mercy vpon him: and to our God, for hee is very ready to forgiue.

⁷ Their feete runne to euill, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are wicked thoughts: desolation and destruction is in their paths.

¹⁴ The sonnes also of them that afflicted thee, shall come and bowe vnto thee: and all they that despised thee, shall fall downe at the soles of thy feete: and they shall call thee, The citie of the Lord, Zion of the Holy one of Israel.

¹⁴ O Ierusalem, wash thine heart from wickednes, that thou maiest be saued: how long shall thy wicked thoughtes remaine within thee?

²⁴ And all the trees of the fielde shall knowe that I the Lord haue brought downe the hie tree, and exalted the lowe tree, that I haue dried vp the greene tree, and made the drie tree to florish: I the Lord haue spoken it, and haue done it.

²³ But hast lift thy selfe vp against the Lord of heauen, and they haue brought the vessels of his House before thee, and thou and thy princes, thy wiues and thy concubines haue drunke wine in them, and thou hast praysed the gods of siluer and golde, of brasse, yron, wood and stone, which neither see, neither heare, nor vnderstand: and the God in whose hand thy breath is and all thy wayes, him hast thou not glorified. ²⁴ Then was the palme of the hand sent from him, and hath written this writing. ²⁵ And this is the writing that he hath written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL UPHARSIN. ²⁶ This is the interpretation of the thing, MENE, God hath nombred thy kingdome, and hath finished it. ²⁷ TEKEL, thou art wayed in the balance, and art found too light. ²⁸ PERES, thy kingdome is deuided, and giuen to the Medes and Persians. ²⁹ Then at the commandement of Belshazzar they clothed Daniel with purple, and put a chaine of golde about his necke, and made a proclamation concerning him that he should be the third ruler in the kingdome. ³⁰ The same night was Belshazzar the King of the Caldeans slaine.

²⁹ Take my yoke on you, and learne of me that I am meeke and lowly in heart: and ye shall finde rest vnto your soules. ³⁰ For my yoke is easie, and my burden light.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come euil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, slaunders.

⁵¹ Hee hath shewed strength with his arme: hee hath scattered the proude in the imagination of their hearts.

²⁵ Which by the mouth of thy seruant Dauid hast saide, Why did the Gentiles rage, and the people imagine vaine things? ²⁶ The Kings of the earth assembled, and the rulers came together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

⁴ And hee fell to the earth, and heard a voyce, saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ⁵ And he sayd, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord sayd, I am Iesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kicke against pricks. ⁶ He then both trembling and astonied, sayd, Lord, what wilt thou that I doe? And the Lord sayd vnto him, Arise and goe into the citie, and it shall be tolde thee what thou shalt doe.

⁵ By whom we haue receiued grace and Apostleship (that obedience might be giuen vnto ye faith) for his Name among al ye Gentiles,

²¹ Because that when they knewe God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankefull, but became vaine in their thoughtes, and their foolish heart was full of darkenesse.

²³ But I see another Law in my members, rebelling against the Lawe of my minde, and leading me captiue vnto the lawe of sinne, which is in my members.

²⁶ (But nowe is opened, and published among all nations by the Scriptures of the Prophetes, at the commandement of the euerlasting God for the obedience of faith)

¹⁹ For it is written, I will destroy the wisedome of the wise, and will cast away the vnderstanding of the prudent.

²⁷ But God hath chosen the foolish thinges of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weake thinges of the worlde, to confound the mightie things, ²⁸ And vile things of the worlde and thinges which are despised, hath God chosen, and thinges which are not, to bring to nought thinges that are, ²⁹ That no flesh shoulde reioyce in his presence.

¹⁹ For the wisdome of this worlde is foolishnesse with God: for it is written, He catcheth the wise in their owne craftinesse.

¹³ (Which by the experiment of this ministration praise God for your voluntarie submission to the Gospell of Christ, and for your liberall distribution to them, and to all men)

⁴ Though I might also haue confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, much more I, ⁵ Circumcised the eight day, of the kinred of Israel, of the tribe of Beniamin, an Ebrewe of the Ebrewes, by the Lawe a Pharise. ⁶ Concerning zeale, I persecuted ye Church: touching the righteousnesse which is in the Law, I was vnrebukeable. ⁷ But the thinges that were vantage vnto me, the same I counted losse for Christes sake. ⁸ Yea, doubtlesse I thinke all thinges but losse for the excellent knowledge sake of Christ Iesus my Lord, for whome I haue counted all things losse, and doe iudge them to bee dongue, that I might winne Christ, ⁹ And might bee founde in him, that is, not hauing mine owne righteousnesse, which is of the Lawe, but that which is through the faith of Christ, euen the righteousnesse which is of God through faith,

⁴ Which is an aduersarie, and exalteth him selfe against all that is called God, or that is worshipped: so that he doeth sit as God in the Temple of God, shewing him selfe that he is God.

⁸ And then shall that wicked man be reueiled, whome the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of his mouth, and shall abolish with the brightnes of his comming,

¹² For the worde of God is liuely, and mightie in operation, and sharper then any two edged sword, and entreth through, euen vnto the diuiding asunder of the soule and the spirit, and of the ioints, and the marow, and is a discerner of the thoughtes, and the intents of the heart.

⁹ And being consecrate, was made the authour of eternall saluation vnto all them that obey him:

² Elect according to the foreknowledge of God ye Father vnto sanctification of ye Spirit, through obedience and sprinkeling of the blood of Iesus Christ: Grace and peace bee multiplied vnto you.

¹⁴ As obedient children, not fashioning your selues vnto the former lustes of your ignorance: ¹⁵ But as hee which hath called you, is holie, so be yee holie in all maner of conuersation;

²² Hauing purified your soules in obeying the trueth through the spirite, to loue brotherly without faining, loue one another with a pure heart feruently,
