¹¹ Wherefore the Lord brought vpon them the captaines of the hoste of the King of Asshur, which tooke Manasseh and put him in fetters, and bound him in chaines, and caryed him to Babel.

³⁶ The Lord shall bring thee and thy King (which thou shalt set ouer thee) vnto a nation, which neither thou nor thy fathers haue knowen, and there thou shalt serue other gods: euen wood and stone,

⁶ And when the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait (for the people were in distresse) the people hid themselues in caues, and in holdes, and in rockes, and in towres, and in pittes.

³³ And Pharaoh Nechoh put him in bondes at Riblah in the lande of Hamath, while he reigned in Ierusalem, and put the lande to a tribute of an hundreth talents of siluer, and a talent of golde.

⁶ Then they tooke the King, and caried him vp to the King of Babel to Riblah, where they gaue iudgement vpon him.

⁶ Against him came vp Nebuchadnezzar King of Babel, and bounde him with chaines to cary him to Babel.

³² Nowe therefore our God, thou great God, mightie and terrible, that keepest couenant and mercie, let not all the affliction that hath come vnto vs, seeme a litle before thee, that is, to our Kings, to our princes, and to our Priests, and to our Prophets, and to our fathers, and to all thy people since the time of the Kings of Asshur vnto this day.

³⁷ And it yeeldeth much fruit vnto the kings whom thou hast set ouer vs, because of our sinnes: and they haue dominion ouer our bodyes and ouer our cattell at their pleasure, and we are in great affliction.

⁸ And if they bee bound in fetters and tyed with the cordes of affliction, ⁹ Then will he shewe them their worke and their sinnes, because they haue bene proude. ¹⁰ He openeth also their eare to discipline, and commandeth them that they returne from iniquity. ¹¹ If they obey and serue him, they shall end their dayes in prosperity, and their yeres in pleasures.

¹⁰ They that dwell in darkenesse and in the shadowe of death, being bounde in miserie and yron, ¹¹ Because they rebelled against the wordes of the Lord, and despised the counsell of the most High, ¹² When he humbled their heart with heauines, then they fell downe and there was no helper. ¹³ Then they cried vnto the Lord in their trouble, and he deliuered them from their distresse. ¹⁴ He brought them out of darkenes, and out of the shadowe of death, and brake their bandes asunder.

²⁶ And he will lift vp a signe vnto the nations a farre, and wil hisse vnto them from the ende of the earth: and beholde, they shall come hastily with speede. ²⁷ None shall faint nor fall among them: none shall slumber nor sleepe, neither shall the girdle of his loynes be loosed, nor the latchet of his shooes be broken: ²⁸ Whose arrowes shall be sharpe, and all his bowes bent: his horse hoofes shall be thought like flint, and his wheeles like a whirlewinde. ²⁹ His roaring shalbe like a lyon, and he shall roare like lyons whelpes: they shall roare, and lay holde of the praye: they shall take it away, and none shall deliuer it. ³⁰ And in that day they shall roare vpon them, as the roaring of the sea: and if they looke vnto the earth, beholde darkenesse, and sorowe, and the light shalbe darkened in their skie.

¹⁸ And in that day shall the Lord hisse for the flie that is at the vttermost part of the floods of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the lande of Asshur, ¹⁹ And they shall come and shall light all in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rockes, and vpon all thorny places, and vpon all bushy places. ²⁰ In that day shall the Lord shaue with a rasor that is hired, euen by them beyond the Riuer, by the King of Asshur, the head and the heare of the feete, and it shall consume the beard.

⁸ For he sayeth, Are not my princes altogether Kings?

⁹ For howe canst thou despise any captaine of the least of my lordes seruants? and put thy trust on Egypt for charets and for horsemen?

⁷ He hath hedged about mee, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chaines heauy.
