¹¹ And that ye studie to be quiet, and to meddle with your owne busines, and to worke with your owne handes, as we commanded you,

¹ Better is a dry morsell, if peace be with it, then an house full of sacrifices with strife.

⁶ Better is an handfull with quietnesse, then two handfuls with labour and vexation of spirit.

²⁶ It is good both to trust, and to waite for the saluation of the Lord.

³⁴ For the Sonne of man is as a man going into a strange countrey, and leaueth his house, and giueth authoritie to his seruaunts, and to euery man his woorke, and commandeth the porter to watch.

⁴² And the Lord saide, Who is a faithfull steward and wise, whom the master shall make ruler ouer his householde, to giue them their portion of meate in season? ⁴³ Blessed is that seruant, whom his master when he commeth, shall finde so doing.

³ And because hee was of the same crafte, he abode with them and wrought (for their crafte was to make tentes.)

³⁵ I haue shewed you all things, howe that so labouring, ye ought to support the weake, and to remember the wordes of the Lord Iesus, howe that hee saide, It is a blessed thing to giue, rather then to receiue.

⁴ For as wee haue many members in one body, and all members haue not one office, ⁵ So we being many are one body in Christ, and euery one, one anothers members. ⁶ Seeing then that we haue gifts that are diuers, according to the grace that is giuen vnto vs, whether we haue prophecie, let vs prophecie according to the portion of faith: ⁷ Or an office, let vs waite on the office: or he that teacheth, on teaching: ⁸ Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that distributeth, let him doe it with simplicitie: he that ruleth, with diligence: he that sheweth mercie, with cheerefulnesse.

¹¹ Not slouthfull to do seruice: seruent in spirit seruing the Lord,

²⁰ Yea, so I enforced my selfe to preach the Gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should haue built on another mans foundation.

¹² And labour, working with our owne handes: we are reuiled, and yet we blesse: we are persecuted, and suffer it.

⁹ Wherefore also we couet, that both dwelling at home, and remouing from home, we may be acceptable to him.

²⁸ Let him that stole, steale no more: but let him rather labour, and worke with his handes the thing which is good, that hee may haue to giue vnto him that needeth.

²² Seruants, be obedient vnto them that are your masters according to the flesh, in all things, not with eye seruice as men pleasers, but in singlenes of heart, fearing God. ²³ And whatsoeuer ye doe, doe it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men, ²⁴ Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receiue the reward of the inheritance: for ye serue the Lord Christ.

⁷ For ye your selues know, how ye ought to follow vs: for we behaued not our selues inordinately among you, ⁸ Neither tooke we bread of any man for nought: but we wrought with labour and trauaile night and day, because we would not be chargeable to any of you. ⁹ Not because we haue not authoritie, but that we might make our selues an ensample vnto you to follow vs. ¹⁰ For euen when we were with you, this we warned you of, that if there were any, which would not worke, that he should not eate. ¹¹ For we heare, that there are some which walke among you inordinately, and worke not at all, but are busie bodies. ¹² Therefore them that are such, we warne and exhort by our Lord Iesus Christ, that they worke with quietnes, and eate their owne bread.

² For Kings, and for all that are in authoritie, that we may leade a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godlinesse and honestie.

¹³ And likewise also being idle they learne to goe about from house to house: yea, they are not onely ydle, but also pratlers and busibodies, speaking things which are not comely.

⁴ That they may instruct the yong women to be sober minded, that they loue their husbands, that they loue their children, ⁵ That they be temperate, chaste, keeping at home, good and subiect vnto their husbands, that the word of God be not euill spoken of. ⁶ Exhort yong men likewise, that they bee sober minded. ⁷ In all things shewe thy selfe an ensample of good woorkes with vncorrupt doctrine, with grauitie, integritie, ⁸ And with the wholesome woorde, which can not be condemned, that hee which withstandeth, may be ashamed, hauing nothing concerning you to speake euill of. ⁹ Let seruants be subiect to their masters, and please them in al things, not answering again, ¹⁰ Neither pickers, but that they shew al good faithfulnesse, that they may adorne the doctrine of God our Sauiour in all things.

¹⁴ And let ours also learne to shewe foorth good woorkes for necessary vses, that they be not vnfruitfull.

⁴ But let it bee the hidde man of the heart, which consisteth in the incorruption of a meeke and quiet spirite, which is before God a thing much set by.

¹⁰ Let euery man as hee hath receiued the gift, minister the same one to another, as good disposers of the manifolde grace of God. ¹¹ If any man speake, let him speake as the wordes of God. If any man minister, let him do it as of the abilitie which God ministreth, that God in al things may be glorified through Iesus Christ, to whome is prayse and dominion for euer, and euer, Amen.

¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murtherer, or as a thiefe, or an euil doer, or as a busibodie in other mens matters.
