³⁶ Then heare thou in heauen, and pardon the sinne of thy seruants and of thy people Israel (when thou hast taught the the good way wherein they may walke) and giue raine vpon the land that thou hast giuen to thy people to inherite.

²³ Moreouer God forbid, that I should sinne against the Lord, and cease praying for you, but I will shewe you the good and right way.

¹ After many dayes, the worde of the Lord came to Eliiah, in the third yeere, saying, Goe, shewe thy selfe vnto Ahab, and I will sende rayne vpon the earth.

²⁷ And at noone Eliiah mocked them, and said, Crye loude: for he is a god: either he talketh or pursueth his enemies, or is in his iourney, or it may be that he sleepeth, and must be awaked. ²⁸ And they cryed loude, and cut them selues as their maner was, with kniues and launcers, till the blood gushed out vpon them. ²⁹ And when midday was passed, and they had prophecied vntil the offring of the euening sacrifice, there was neither voyce, nor one to answere, nor any that regarded. ³⁰ And Eliiah said vnto all the people, Come to me. And all the people came to him. And he repayred the altar of the Lord that was broken downe. ³¹ And Eliiah tooke twelue stones, according to the nomber of the tribes of the sonnes of Iaakob, (vnto whome the worde of the Lord came, saying, Israel shalbe thy name) ³² And with the stones he buylt an altar in the Name of the Lord: and he made a ditch round about the altar, as great as woulde conteine two measures of seede. ³³ And he put the wood in order, and hewed the bullocke in pieces, and layd him on the wood, ³⁴ And said, Fill foure barrels with water, and powre it on the burnt offring and on the wood. Againe he said, Doe so againe. And they did so the second time. And he sayde, Doe it the third time. And they did it the third time. ³⁵ And the water ran round about the altar: and he filled the ditch with water also. ³⁶ And when they should offer the euening sacrifice, Eliiah the Prophet came, and sayd, Lord God of Abraham, Izhak and of Israel, let it be knowen this day, that thou art the God of Israel, and that I am thy seruant, and that I haue done all these things at thy commandement. ³⁷ Heare me, O Lord, heare me, and let this people know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart againe at the last. ³⁸ Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt offring, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked vp the water that was in the ditche. ³⁹ And when all the people sawe it, they fell on their faces, and saide, The Lord is God, the Lord is God. ⁴⁰ And Elijah said vnto them, Take the prophets of Baal, let not a man of them escape. and they tooke them, and Eliiah brought them to the brooke Kishon, and slewe them there.

⁴⁵ And in the meane while the heauen was blacke with cloudes and winde, and there was a great rayne. Then Ahab went vp and came to Izreel.

²⁶ When heauen shall be shut vp, and there shalbe no rayne, because they haue sinned against thee, and shall pray in this place, and confesse thy Name, and turne from their sinne, when thou doest afflict them, ²⁷ Then heare thou in heauen, and pardon the sinne of thy seruants, and of thy people Israel (when thou hast taught them the good way wherein they may walke) and giue rayne vpon thy lande, which thou hast giuen vnto thy people for an inheritance.

⁸ Leade me, O Lord, in thy righteousnes, because of mine enemies: make thy way plaine before my face.

⁴ Shew me thy waies, O Lord, and teache me thy paths. ⁵ Leade me foorth in thy trueth, and teache me: for thou art the God of my saluation: in thee doe I trust all the day.

⁸ Gracious and righteous is the Lord: therefore will he teache sinners in the way.

¹² What man is he that feareth the Lord? him wil he teache the way that hee shall chuse.

¹¹ Teache mee thy way, O Lord, and leade me in a right path, because of mine enemies.

⁸ I will instruct thee, and teache thee in the way that thou shalt goe, and I will guide thee with mine eye.

⁹ Thou, O God, sendest a gracious raine vpon thine inheritance, and thou didest refresh it when it was wearie.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, O Lord, and I will walke in thy trueth: knit mine heart vnto thee, that I may feare thy Name.

¹² Blessed is the man, whom thou chastisest, O Lord, and teachest him in thy Lawe,

³³ HE. Teach mee, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I will keepe it vnto the ende.

⁸ Let me heare thy louing kindenes in the morning, for in thee is my trust: shewe mee the way, that I should walke in, for I lift vp my soule vnto thee.

²¹ And thine eares shall heare a worde behind thee, saying, This is the way, walke ye in it, when thou turnest to the right hand, and when thou turnest to the left.

⁸ And there shalbe a path and a way, and the way shalbe called holy: the polluted shall not passe by it: for he shalbe with them, and walke in the way, and the fooles shall not erre.

¹⁶ Thus sayeth the Lord, Stande in the waies and beholde, and aske for the olde way, which is the good way and walke therein, and yee shall finde rest for your soules: but they saide, We will not walke therein.

²² Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles, that can giue raine? or can the heauens giue showres? is it not thou, O Lord our God? therefore we will waite vpon thee: for thou hast made all these things.

³ That the Lord thy God may shewe vs the way wherein wee may walke, and the thing that we may doe.

² Yea, many nations shall come and say, Come, and let vs goe vp to the Mountaine of the Lord, and to the House of the God of Iaakob, and hee will teache vs his wayes, and we wil walke in his pathes: for the Lawe shall goe forth of Zion, and the worde of the Lord from Ierusalem.

¹⁶ And they sent vnto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we knowe that thou art true, and teachest the way of God truely, neither carest for any man: for thou considerest not the person of men.

¹⁷ Helias was a man subiect to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rayne, and it rayned not on the earth for three yeeres and sixe moneths. ¹⁸ And he prayed againe, and the heauen gaue rayne, and the earth brought forth her fruite.
