¹ That which was from the beginning, which wee haue heard, which wee haue seene with these our eyes, which wee haue looked vpon, and these handes of ours haue handled of that Word of life,

²² The Lord hath possessed me in the beginning of his way: I was before his workes of olde. ²³ I was set vp from euerlasting, from the beginning and before the earth. ²⁴ When there were no depths, was I begotten, when there were no fountaines abounding with water. ²⁵ Before the mountaines were setled: and before the hilles, was I begotten. ²⁶ He had not yet made the earth, nor the open places, nor the height of the dust in the worlde. ²⁷ When hee prepared the heauens, I was there, when he set the compasse vpon the deepe. ²⁸ When he established the cloudes aboue, when he confirmed the fountaines of the deepe, ²⁹ When he gaue his decree to the Sea, that the waters shoulde not passe his commandement: when he appointed the foundations of the earth, ³⁰ Then was I with him as a nourisher, and I was dayly his delight reioycing alway before him, ³¹ And tooke my solace in the compasse of his earth: and my delite is with the children of men.

⁴ Who hath wrought and done it? he that calleth the generations from the beginning. I the Lord am the first, and with the last I am ye same.

² And thou Beth-leem Ephrathah art litle to bee among the thousandes of Iudah, yet out of thee shall he come forth vnto me, that shalbe the ruler in Israel: whose goings forth haue bene from the beginning and from euerlasting.

² As they haue deliuered them vnto vs, which from the beginning saw them their selues, and were ministers of ye word,

³⁹ Beholde mine handes and my feete: for it is I my selfe: handle me, and see: for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me haue.

¹ In the beginning was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God. ² This same was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made by it, and without it was made nothing that was made. ⁴ In it was life, and that life was the light of men. ⁵ And that light shineth in the darkenesse, and the darkenesse comprehended it not. ⁶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was Iohn. ⁷ This same came for a witnesse, to beare witnesse of that light, that all men through him might beleeue. ⁸ He was not that light, but was sent to beare witnesse of that light. ⁹ This was that true light, which lighteth euery man that commeth into the world. ¹⁰ He was in the world, and the worlde was made by him: and the worlde knewe him not. ¹¹ He came vnto his owne, and his owne receiued him not. ¹² But as many as receiued him, to them he gaue prerogatiue to be the sonnes of God, euen to them that beleeue in his Name. ¹³ Which are borne not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of ye wil of man, but of God. ¹⁴ And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs, (and we sawe the glorie thereof, as the glorie of the onely begotten Sonne of the Father) full of grace and trueth. ¹⁵ Iohn bare witnesse of him, and cryed, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that commeth after me, was before me: for he was better then I. ¹⁶ And of his fulnesse haue all we receiued, and grace for grace. ¹⁷ For the Lawe was giuen by Moses, but grace, and trueth came by Iesus Christ. ¹⁸ No man hath seene God at any time: that onely begotten Sonne, which is in the bosome of the Father, he hath declared him.

²⁶ For as the Father hath life in himselfe, so likewise hath he giuen to the Sonne to haue life in himselfe,

⁵⁸ Iesus sayd vnto them, Verely, verely I say vnto you, before Abraham was, I am.

³⁵ And he that sawe it, bare recorde, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might beleeue it.

²⁷ After saide he to Thomas, Put thy finger here, and see mine hands, and put forth thine hand, and put it into my side, and be not faithlesse, but faithfull.

³ To whome also he presented himselfe aliue after that he had suffered, by many infallible tokens, being seene of them by the space of fourtie daies, and speaking of those thinges which appertaine to the kingdome of God.

²⁰ For we cannot but speake the things which we haue seene and heard.

¹⁶ For we followed not deceiuable fables when we opened vnto you the power, and comming of our Lord Iesus Christ, but with our eyes we saw his maiestie: ¹⁷ For he receiued of God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voyce to him from that excellent glory, This is my beloued Sonne, in whom I am well pleased. ¹⁸ And this voyce we heard when it came from heauen, being with him in the Holy mount.

² (For that life was made manifest, and wee haue seene it, and beare witnes, and shewe vnto you that eternall life, which was with the Father, and was made manifest vnto vs) ³ That, I say, which wee haue seene and heard, declare wee vnto you, that yee may also haue fellowship with vs, and that our fellowship also may be with the Father, and with his Sonne Iesvs Christ.

¹³ I write vnto you, fathers, because yee haue knowen him that is from the beginning. I write vnto you, yong men, because ye haue ouercome that wicked one. I write vnto you, litle children, because ye haue knowen ye Father. ¹⁴ I haue written vnto you, fathers, because ye haue knowen him, that is from the beginning. I haue written vnto you, yong men, because ye are strong, and the worde of God abideth in you, and ye haue ouercome that wicked one.

¹⁴ And we haue seene, and doe testifie, that the Father sent that Sonne to be ye Sauiour of the world.

⁷ For there are three, which beare recorde in heauen, the Father, the Worde, and the holy Ghost: and these three are one.

⁸ I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, Which is, and Which was, and Which is to come, euen the Almightie.

¹¹ Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, that first and that last: and that which thou seest, write in a booke, and send it vnto the seuen Churches which are in Asia, vnto Ephesus, and vnto Smyrna, and vnto Pergamus, and vnto Thyatira, and vnto Sardis, and vnto Philadelphia, and vnto Laodicea.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feete as dead: then he laid his right hand vpon me, saying vnto me, Feare not: I am that first and that last, ¹⁸ And am aliue, but I was dead: and beholde, I am aliue for euermore, Amen: and I haue the keyes of hell and of death.

⁸ And vnto the Angel of the Church of the Smyrnians write, These things saith he that is first, and last, which was dead and is aliue.

¹³ And he was clothed with a garment dipt in blood, and his name is called THE WORD OF GOD.
