⁶ But a brother goeth to law with a brother, and that vnder the infidels.

⁷ Also there was debate betweene ye heardmen of Abrams cattell, and the heardmen of Lots cattell. (and the Canaanites and the Perizzites dwelled at that time in the land.) ⁸ Then saide Abram vnto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, betweene thee and me, neither betweene mine heardmen and thine heardmen: for we be brethren. ⁹ Is not the whole land before thee? depart I pray thee from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will goe to the right: or if thou goe to the right hand, then I will take the left.

²⁴ So sent he his brethren away, and they departed: and he sayde vnto them, Fall not out by the way.

⁸ And I said vnto them, We (according to our abilitie) haue redeemed our brethren the Iewes, which were solde vnto the heathen: and will you sell your brethren againe, or shall they be solde vnto vs? Then helde they their peace, and could not answere. ⁹ I said also, That which ye do, is not good. Ought ye not to walke in the feare of our God, for the reproche of the heathen our enemies?

Behold, howe good and howe comely a thing it is, brethren to dwell euen together. ² It is like to the precious oyntment vpon the head, that runneth downe vpon the beard, euen vnto Aarons beard, which went downe on the border of his garments: ³ And as the dew of Hermon, which falleth vpon the mountaines of Zion: for there the Lord appointed the blessing and life for euer.

²⁶ And the next day, he shewed himselfe vnto them as they stroue, and woulde haue set them at one againe, saying, Syrs, ye are brethren: why doe ye wrong one to another?

¹ Dare any of you, hauing businesse against an other, be iudged vnder the vniust, and not vnder the Saintes?

⁷ Nowe therefore there is altogether infirmitie in you, in that yee goe to lawe one with another: why rather suffer ye not wrong? why rather susteine yee not harme?

¹⁴ Be not vnequally yoked with the infidels: for what fellowship hath righteousnesse with vnrighteousnesse? and what communion hath light with darkenesse?

¹⁴ Do all things without murmuring and reasonings, ¹⁵ That ye may be blamelesse, and pure, and the sonnes of God without rebuke in the middes of a naughtie and crooked nation, among whom yee shine as lights in the world,

⁹ He that saith that hee is in that light, and hateth his brother, is in darkenes, vntill this time. ¹⁰ Hee that loueth his brother, abideth in that light, and there is none occasion of euil in him. ¹¹ But he that hateth his brother, is in darkenesse, and walketh in darkenesse, and knoweth not whither hee goeth, because that darkenesse hath blinded his eyes.

¹¹ For this is the message, that ye heard from the beginning, that we should loue one another, ¹² Not as Cain which was of that wicked one, and slewe his brother: and wherefore slewe he him? because his owne workes were euill, and his brothers good. ¹³ Marueile not, my brethren, though this world hate you. ¹⁴ We know that we are translated from death vnto life, because we loue the brethren: he that loueth not his brother, abideth in death. ¹⁵ Whosoeuer hateth his brother, is a manslayer: and ye know that no manslayer hath eternall life abiding in him.
