⁹ For we together are Gods labourers: yee are Gods husbandrie, and Gods building.

⁹ Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou makest it very riche: the Riuer of God is full of water: thou preparest them corne: for so thou appointest it. ¹⁰ Thou waterest abundantly the furrowes thereof: thou causest the raine to descende into the valleies thereof: thou makest it soft with showres, and blessest the bud thereof. ¹¹ Thou crownest ye yeere with thy goodnesse, and thy steppes droppe fatnesse. ¹² They drop vpon the pastures of the wildernesse: and the hils shalbe compassed with gladnes. ¹³ The pastures are clad with sheepe: the valleis also shalbe couered with corne: therefore they shoute for ioye, and sing.

¹⁶ An handfull of corne shall be sowen in the earth, euen in the toppe of the mountaines, and the fruite thereof shall shake like the trees of Lebanon: and the children shall florish out of the citie like the grasse of the earth.

⁸ Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. ⁹ Thou madest roume for it, and didest cause it to take roote, and it filled the land. ¹⁰ The mountaines were couered with the shadowe of it, and the boughes thereof were like the goodly cedars. ¹¹ Shee stretched out her branches vnto the Sea, and her boughes vnto the Riuer.

²² The stone, which the builders refused, is the head of the corner.

¹ Now will I sing to my beloued a song of my beloued to his vineyarde, My beloued had a vineyarde in a very fruitefull hill, ² And hee hedged it, and gathered out the stones of it, and he planted it with the best plants, and hee builte a towre in the middes thereof, and made a wine presse therein: then hee looked that it should bring foorth grapes: but it brought foorth wilde grapes. ³ Now therefore, O inhabitants of Ierusalem and men of Iudah, iudge, I pray you, betweene me, and my vineyarde. ⁴ What coulde I haue done any more to my vineyard that I haue not done vnto it? why haue I looked that it should bring foorth grapes, and it bringeth foorth wilde grapes? ⁵ And nowe I will tell you what I will do to my vineyarde: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten vp: I will breake the wall thereof, and it shall be troden downe: ⁶ And I will laye it waste: it shall not be cut, nor digged, but briers, and thornes shall growe vp: I will also commande the cloudes that they raine no raine vpon it. ⁷ Surely the vineyard of the Lord of hostes is the house of Israel, and the men of Iudah are his pleasant plant, and hee looked for iudgement, but beholde oppression: for righteousnesse, but beholde a crying.

² In that daye sing of the vineyarde of redde wine. ³ I the Lord doe keepe it: I will water it euery moment: least any assaile it, I will keepe it night and day.

²⁴ Doeth the plowe man plowe all the day, to sowe? doeth he open, and breake the clots of his ground? ²⁵ When he hath made it plaine, wil he not then sowe the fitches, and sowe cummin, and cast in wheat by measure, and the appointed barly and rye in their place? ²⁶ For his God doeth instruct him to haue discretion, and doeth teach him. ²⁷ For fitches shall not be threshed with a threshing instrument, neither shall a cart wheele be turned about vpon the cummin: but ye fitches are beaten out with a staffe, and cummin with a rod. ²⁸ Bread corne when it is threshed, hee doeth not alway thresh it, neither doeth the wheele of his cart still make a noyse, neither will he breake it with the teeth thereof. ²⁹ This also commeth from the Lord of hostes, which is wonderfull in counsell, and excellent in workes.

²⁰ Blessed are ye that sowe vpon all waters, and driue thither the feete of the oxe and the asse.

³ To appoint vnto them that mourne in Zion, and to giue vnto them beautie for ashes, the oyle of ioye for mourning, the garment of gladnesse for the spirit of heauinesse, that they might be called trees of righteousnesse, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

⁵ And the strangers shall stande and feede your sheepe, and the sonnes of the strangers shall be your plowmen and dressers of your vines.

¹¹ For as the earth bringeth foorth her bud, and as the garden causeth to growe that which is sowen in it: so the Lord God will cause righteousnesse to grow and praise before all the heathen.

²¹ Yet I had planted thee, a noble vine, whose plants were all natural: howe then art thou turned vnto me into the plants of a strange vine?

¹¹ In that day will I raise vp the tabernacle of Dauid, that is fallen downe, and close vp the breaches therof, and I will rayse vp his ruines, and I will builde it, as in the dayes of olde, ¹² That they may possesse the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, because my Name is called vpon them, sayeth the Lord, that doeth this.

¹² And speake vnto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, and sayth, Behold the man whose name is the Branch, and he shall growe vp out of his place, and he shall build the Temple of the Lord. ¹³ Euen hee shall build the Temple of the Lord, and he shall beare the glory, and shall sit and rule vpon his throne, and he shalbe a Priest vpon his throne, and the counsell of peace shall be betweene them both.

³⁷ Then saide he to his disciples, Surely the haruest is great, but the labourers are fewe.

³ Then he spake many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sowe. ⁴ And as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the foules came and deuoured them vp. ⁵ And some fell vpon stony grounde, where they had not much earth, and anon they sprong vp, because they had no depth of earth. ⁶ And when the sunne was vp, they were parched, and for lacke of rooting, withered away. ⁷ And some fell among thornes, and the thornes sprong vp, and choked them. ⁸ Some againe fel in good ground, and brought forth fruite, one corne an hundreth folde, some sixtie folde, and another thirtie folde. ⁹ He that hath eares to heare, let him heare.

¹⁸ Heare ye therefore ye parable of ye sower. ¹⁹ Whensoeuer any man heareth the woorde of that kingdome, and vnderstandeth it not, that euil one commeth, and catcheth away that which was sowen in his heart: and this is he which hath receiued the seede by the way side. ²⁰ And hee that receiued seede in the stonie grounde, is he which heareth the woorde, and incontinently with ioy receiueth it, ²¹ Yet hath he no roote in himselfe, and dureth but a season: for assoone as tribulation or persecution commeth because of the woorde, by and by he is offended. ²² And hee that receiued the seede among thornes, is hee that heareth the woorde: but the care of this worlde, and the deceitfulnesse of riches choke the word, and he is made vnfruitfull. ²³ But he that receiued the seede in the good ground, is he that heareth the worde, and vnderstandeth it, which also beareth fruite, and bringeth foorth, some an hundreth folde, some sixtie folde, and some thirtie folde. ²⁴ Another parable put hee foorth vnto them, saying, The kingdome of heauen is like vnto a man which sowed good seede in his fielde. ²⁵ But while men slept, there came his enemie, and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his waie. ²⁶ And when the blade was sprong vp, and brought forth fruite, then appeared the tares also. ²⁷ Then came the seruaunts of the housholder, and sayd vnto him, Master, sowedst not thou good seede in thy fielde? from whence then hath it tares? ²⁸ And hee said to them, Some enuious man hath done this. Then the seruants saide vnto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them vp? ²⁹ But he saide, Nay, lest while yee goe about to gather the tares, yee plucke vp also with them the wheat. ³⁰ Let both growe together vntill the haruest, and in time of haruest I will say to the reapers, Gather yee first the tares, and binde them in sheaues to burne them: but gather the wheate into my barne.

³⁶ Then sent Iesus the multitude away, and went into the house. And his disciples came vnto him, saying, Declare vnto vs the parable of the tares of that fielde. ³⁷ Then answered he, and saide to them, He that soweth the good seede, is the Sonne of man. ³⁸ And the field is the worlde, and the good seede are the children of the kingdome, and the tares are the children of that wicked one. ³⁹ And the enemie that soweth them, is the deuill, and the haruest is the end of the worlde, and the reapers be the Angels. ⁴⁰ As then the tares are gathered and burned in ye fire, so shall it be in the end of this world. ⁴¹ The Sonne of man shall send forth his Angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which doe iniquitie, ⁴² And shall cast them into a fornace of fire. There shalbe wailing and gnashing of teeth.

¹⁸ And I say also vnto thee, that thou art Peter, and vpon this rocke I will builde my Church: and ye gates of hell shall not ouercome it.

¹ For the kingdome of heauen is like vnto a certaine, housholder, which went out at the dawning of the day to hire labourers into his vineyarde. ² And he agreed with the labourers for a peny a day, and sent them into his vineyard. ³ And he went out about the third houre, and sawe other standing idle in the market place, ⁴ And sayd vnto them, Goe ye also into my vineyard, and whatsoeuer is right, I will giue you: and they went their way. ⁵ Againe he went out about the sixt and ninth houre, and did likewise. ⁶ And he went about the eleuenth houre, and found other standing idle, and sayd vnto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? ⁷ They sayd vnto him, Because no man hath hired vs. He sayd to them, Goe ye also into my vineyard, and whatsoeuer is right, that shall ye receiue. ⁸ And when euen was come, the master of the vineyard sayd vnto his steward, Call the labourers, and giue them their hire, beginning at the last, till thou come to the first. ⁹ And they which were hired about ye eleuenth houre, came and receiued euery man a penie. ¹⁰ Nowe when the first came, they supposed that they should receiue more, but they likewise receiued euery man a penie. ¹¹ And when they had receiued it, they murmured against the master of the house, ¹² Saying, These last haue wrought but one houre, and thou hast made them equall vnto vs, which haue borne the burden and heate of the day. ¹³ And hee answered one of them, saying, Friend, I doe thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penie? ¹⁴ Take that which is thine owne, and go thy way: I will giue vnto this last, as much as to thee.

²³ And whe he was come into the Temple, the chiefe Priestes, and the Elders of the people came vnto him, as he was teaching, and saide, By what authoritie doest thou these things? and who gaue thee this authoritie? ²⁴ Then Iesus answered and said vnto them, I also will aske of you a certaine thing, which if ye tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authoritie I doe these things. ²⁵ The baptisme of Iohn, whence was it? from heauen, or of men? Then they reasoned among themselues, saying, If we shall say, From heauen, he will say vnto vs, Why did ye not then beleeue him? ²⁶ And if we say, Of men, we feare the multitude, for all holde Iohn as a Prophet. ²⁷ Then they answered Iesus, and said, We can not tell. And he said vnto them, Neither tell I you by what authoritie I doe these things. ²⁸ But what thinke ye? A certaine man had two sonnes, and came to the elder, and saide, Sonne, goe and worke to day in my vineyarde. ²⁹ But he answered, and said, I will not: yet afterward he repented himselfe, and went. ³⁰ Then came he to the second, and said likewise. And he answered, and said, I will, Syr: yet he went not. ³¹ Whether of them twaine did the will of the father? They saide vnto him, The first. Iesus saide vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, that the Publicanes and the harlots goe before you into the kingdome of God. ³² For Iohn came vnto you in the way of righteousnes, and yee beleeued him not: but the Publicanes, and the harlots beleeued him, and ye, though ye sawe it, were not mooued with repentance afterward, that ye might beleeue him. ³³ Heare another parable, There was a certaine housholder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and made a winepresse therein, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange countrey. ³⁴ And when the time of the fruite drewe neere, hee sent his seruants to the husbandmen to receiue the fruites thereof. ³⁵ And ye husbandmen tooke his seruants and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. ³⁶ Againe hee sent other seruants, moe then the first: and they did the like vnto them. ³⁷ But last of all he sent vnto them his owne sonne, saying, They will reuerence my sonne. ³⁸ But when the husbandmen saw the sonne, they saide among themselues, This is the heire: come, let vs kill him, and let vs take his inheritance. ³⁹ So they tooke him, and cast him out of the vineyarde, and slewe him. ⁴⁰ When therefore the Lord of the vineyarde shall come, what will hee doe to those husbandmen? ⁴¹ They saide vnto him, Hee will cruelly destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard vnto other husbandmen, which shall deliuer him the fruites in their seasons. ⁴² Iesus saide vnto them, Read ye neuer in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders refused, the same is made the head of the corner? This was the Lordes doing, and it is marueilous in our eyes. ⁴³ Therefore say I vnto you, The kingdome of God shalbe taken from you, and shalbe giuen to a nation, which shall bring foorth the fruites thereof. ⁴⁴ And whosoeuer shall fall on this stone, he shalbe broken: but on whomsoeuer it shall fall, it will dash him a pieces.

²⁶ Also he said, So is the kingdome of God, as if a man should cast seede in the ground, ²⁷ And shoulde sleepe, and rise vp night and day, and the seede should spring and growe vp, he not knowing howe. ²⁸ For the earth bringeth foorth fruite of it selfe, first the blade, then the eares, after that full corne in the eares. ²⁹ And assoone as the fruite sheweth it selfe, anon hee putteth in the sickle, because the haruest is come.

²⁰ And they went foorth, and preached euery where. And the Lord wrought with them, and confirmed the worde with signes that folowed. Amen.

³⁵ Say not ye, There are yet foure moneths, and then commeth haruest? Beholde, I say vnto you, Lift vp your eyes, and looke on the regions: for they are white alreadie vnto haruest. ³⁶ And he that reapeth, receiueth rewarde, and gathereth fruite vnto life eternall, that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth, might reioyce together. ³⁷ For herein is the saying true, that one soweth, and an other reapeth. ³⁸ I sent you to reape that, whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entred into their labours.

¹ I Am that true vine, and my Father is that husband man. ² Euery branch that beareth not fruite in me, he taketh away: and euery one that beareth fruite, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruite. ³ Nowe are ye cleane through the worde, which I haue spoken vnto you. ⁴ Abide in me, and I in you: as the branche cannot beare fruite of it selfe, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ⁵ I am that vine: ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruite: for without me can ye doe nothing. ⁶ If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branche, and withereth: and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they burne. ⁷ If ye abide in me, and my wordes abide in you, aske what ye wil, and it shalbe done to you. ⁸ Herein is my Father glorified, that ye beare much fruite, and be made my disciples.

¹¹ This is the stone cast aside of you builders which is become the head of the corner.

⁶ I haue planted, Apollos watred, but God gaue the increase.

¹⁶ Knowe ye not that ye are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

¹⁹ Knowe yee not, that your body is the temple of the holy Ghost, which is in you, whom ye haue of God? and yee are not your owne.

¹ So we therefore as workers together beseech you, that ye receiue not the grace of God in vaine.

¹⁶ And what agreement hath the Temple of God with idols? for ye are the Temple of the liuing God: as God hath said, I will dwell among them, and walke there: and I will be their God, and they shalbe my people.

¹⁰ For we are his workemanship created in Christ Iesus vnto good workes, which God hath ordeined, that we should walke in them.

²⁰ And are built vpon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Iesus Christ himselfe being the chiefe corner stone, ²¹ In whom all the building coupled together, groweth vnto an holy Temple in the Lord. ²² In whom ye also are built together to be the habitation of God by the Spirit.

⁷ Rooted and built in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye haue bene taught, abouding therein with thankesgiuing.

¹⁵ But if I tary long, that thou maist yet know, how thou oughtest to behaue thy self in ye house of God, which is the Church of the liuing God, the pillar and ground of trueth.

³ For this man is counted worthy of more glory then Moses, inasmuch as he which hath builded the house, hath more honour then the house. ⁴ For euery house is builded of some man, and he that hath built all things, is God.

⁶ But Christ is as the Sonne, ouer his owne house, whose house we are, if we holde fast that confidence and that reioycing of that hope vnto the ende.

⁵ Yee also as liuely stones, bee made a spirituall house, an holy Priesthoode to offer vp spirituall sacrifices acceptable to God by Iesus Christ.

⁸ We therefore ought to receiue such, that we might be helpers to the trueth.
