³² And they ministred before the Tabernacle, euen the Tabernacle of the Congregation with singing, vntill Salomon had built ye house of the Lord in Ierusalem: then they continued in their office, according to their custome.

⁶ So the Priestes brought the Arke of the couenant of the Lord vnto his place, into the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, euen vnder the wings of the Cherubims. ⁷ For ye Cherubims stretched out their wings ouer the place of the Arke, and the Cherubims couered the Arke, and the barres thereof aboue. ⁸ And they drewe out the barres, that the endes of the barres might appeare out of the Sanctuarie before the oracle, but they were not seene without: and there they are vnto this day. ⁹ Nothing was in the Arke saue the two tables of stone which Moses had put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a couenant with the children of Israel, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt. ¹⁰ And when the Priestes were come out of the Sanctuarie, the cloude filled the house of the Lord, ¹¹ So that the Priestes could not stande to minister, because of the cloude: for the glorie of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord. ¹² Then spake Salomon, The Lord said, that he woulde dwell in the darke cloude. ¹³ I haue built thee an house to dwell in, an habitation for thee to abide in for euer.

¹⁰ And Iohanan begate Azariah (it was hee that was Priest in the house that Salomon built in Ierusalem)

³³ And these are the singers, the chiefe fathers of the Leuites, which dwelt in the chambers, and had none other charge: for they had to do in that busines day and night:

⁴ And he appointed certaine of the Leuites to minister before the Arke of the Lord, and to rehearse and to thanke and prayse the Lord God of Israel: ⁵ Asaph the chiefe, and next to him Zechariah, Ieiel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed Edom, euen Ieiel with instruments, violes and harpes, and Asaph to make a sound with cymbales, ⁶ And Benaiah and Iahaziel Priestes, with trumpets continually before the Arke of the couenant of God.

³⁷ Then he left there before the Arke of the Lordes couenant Asaph and his brethren to minister continually before the Arke, that which was to be done euery day: ³⁸ And Obed Edom and his brethren, three score and eight: and Obed Edom the sonne of Ieduthun, and Hosah were porters. ³⁹ And Zadok the Priest and his brethren the Priestes were before the Tabernacle of ye Lord, in the hie place that was at Gibeon, ⁴⁰ To offer burnt offrings vnto the Lord, vpon the burnt offring altar continually, in the morning and in the euening, euen according vnto all that is written in the law of the Lord, which hee commanded Israel. ⁴¹ And with them were Heman, and Ieduthun, and the rest that were chosen (which were appointed by names) to praise the Lord, because his mercie endureth for euer. ⁴² Euen with them were Heman and Ioduthun, to make a sound with the cornets and with the cymbales, with excellent instruments of musicke: and the sonnes of Ieduthun were at the gate.

²⁵ He appointed also the Leuites in the house of the Lord with cymbales, with violes, and with harpes, according to the commandement of Dauid, and Gad the Kings Seer, and Nathan the Prophet: for the commandement was by the hande of the Lord, and by the hande of his Prophets. ²⁶ And the Leuites stood with the instruments of Dauid, and the Priests with the trumpets. ²⁷ And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offring vpon the altar: and when the burnt offring began, the song of the Lord beganne with the trumpets, and the instruments of Dauid King of Israel. ²⁸ And al the Congregation worshipped, singing a song, and they blew the trumpets: all this continued vntill the burnt offring was finished. ²⁹ And when they had made an ende of offring, the King and all that were present with him, bowed themselues, and worshipped. ³⁰ Then Hezekiah the King and the princes commanded the Leuites to prayse the Lord with the wordes of Dauid, and of Asaph the Seer. so they praysed with ioy, and they bowed themselues, and worshipped.

² And Hezekiah appoynted the courses of the Priests and Leuites by their turnes, euery man according to his office, both Priestes and Leuites, for the burnt offring and peace offrings, to minister and to giue thankes, and to prayse in the gates of the tentes of the Lord.

¹⁵ And the singers the sonnes of Asaph stoode in their standing according to the commandement of Dauid, and Asaph, and Heman, and Ieduthun the Kings Seer: and the porters at euery gate, who might not depart from their seruice: therefore their brethren the Leuites prepared for them.

¹⁰ And when the builders layed the foundation of the Temple of the Lord, they appoynted the Priestes in their apparel with trumpets, and the Leuites the sonnes of Asaph with cymbales, to prayse the Lord, after the ordinance of Dauid King of Israel. ¹¹ Thus they sang when they gaue prayse, and when they gaue thankes vnto the Lord, For he is good, for his mercie endureth for euer toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shoute, when they praysed the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was layed.

¹⁸ And they set the Priests in their order, and the Leuites in their courses ouer the seruice of God in Ierusalem, as it is written in the booke of Moses.

¹⁷ And Mattaniah, the sonne of Micha, the sonne of Zabdi, the sonne of Asaph was the chiefe to begin the thankesgiuing and prayer: and Bakbukiah the second of his brethren, and Abda, the sonne of Shammua, the sonne of Galal, the sonne of Ieduthun. ¹⁸ All the Leuites in the holy citie were two hundreth foure score and foure. ¹⁹ And the porters Akkub, Talmon and their brethren that kept the gates, were an hundreth twentie and two. ²⁰ And the residue of Israel, of the Priests, and of the Leuites dwelt in al the cities of Iudah, euery one in his inheritance. ²¹ And the Nethinims dwelt in the fortresse, and Ziha, and Gispa was ouer the Nethinims. ²² And the ouerseer of the Leuites in Ierusalem was Vzzi the sonne of Bani, the sonne of Ashabiah, the sonne of Mattaniah, the sonne of Micha: of the sonnes of Asaph singers were ouer the worke of the house of God. ²³ For it was the Kings commandement cocerning them, that faithfull prouision shoulde bee for the singers euery day.

²⁷ And in the dedication of the wall at Ierusalem they sought the Leuites out of all their places to bring them to Ierusalem to keepe the dedication and gladnes, both with thankesgiuings and with songs, cymbales, violes and with harpes. ²⁸ Then the singers gathered themselues together both from the plaine countrey about Ierusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi,

⁴⁵ And both the singers and the Leuites kept the ward of their God, and the warde of the purification according to the commandement of Dauid, and Salomon his sonne. ⁴⁶ For in the dayes of Dauid and Asaph, of olde were chiefe singers, and songs of praise and thankesgiuing vnto God. ⁴⁷ And in the dayes of Zerubbabel, and in the dayes of Nehemiah did al Israel giue portions vnto the singers and porters, euerie day his portion, and they gaue the holy things vnto the Leuites, and the Leuites gaue the holy things vnto the sonnes of Aaron.

²⁴ They haue seene, O God, thy goings, the goings of my God, and my King, which art in the Sanctuarie. ²⁵ The singers went before, the players of instruments after: in the middes were the maides playing with timbrels.

¹ A song of degrees. Behold, praise ye the Lord, all ye seruants of the Lord, ye that by night stande in the house of the Lord. ² Lift vp your hands to the Sanctuarie, and praise the Lord.

¹ Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Name of the Lord: ye seruants of the Lord, praise him. ² Ye that stande in the House of the Lord, and in the courtes of the House of our God, ³ Praise ye the Lord: for the Lord is good: sing praises vnto his Name: for it is a comely thing.
