⁸ Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the Congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keepe and seeke for all the commandements of the Lord your God, that ye may possesse this good lande, and leaue it for an inheritance for your children after you for euer.

¹ Nowe therefore hearken, O Israel, vnto the ordinances and to the lawes which I teache you to doe, that ye may liue and goe in, and possesse the lande, which the Lord God of your fathers giueth you.

⁶ Keepe them therefore, and doe them; for that is your wisdome, and your vnderstanding in the sight of the people, which shall heare all these ordinances, and shall say, Onely this people is wise, and of vnderstanding, and a great nation.

²⁶ I call heauen and earth to record against you this day, that ye shall shortly perish from the land, whereunto ye goe ouer Iorden to possesse it: ye shall not prolong your dayes therein, but shall vtterly be destroyed.

³² Take heede therefore, that ye doe as the Lord your God hath commanded you: turne not aside to the right hand nor to the left,

¹⁰ Ye stand this day euery one of you before the Lord your God: your heads of your tribes, your Elders and your officers, eue al ye me of Israel:

¹⁵ But aswel with him that standeth here with vs this day before the Lord our God, as with him that is not here with vs this day.

¹² Now therfore shall ye not giue your daughters vnto their sonnes, neither shall ye take their daughters vnto your sonnes, nor seeke their peace nor wealth for euer, that yee may be strong and eate the goodnes of the lande, and leaue it for an inheritance to your sonnes for euer.

⁴ Thou hast commanded to keepe thy precepts diligently.

¹⁰ With my whole heart haue I sought thee: let me not wander from thy commandements. ¹¹ I haue hid thy promise in mine heart, that I might not sinne against thee.

²⁷ Make me to vnderstand ye way of thy precepts, and I will meditate in thy wondrous workes.

³³ HE. Teach mee, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I will keepe it vnto the ende. ³⁴ Giue mee vnderstanding, and I will keepe thy Law: yea, I wil keepe it with my whole heart.

⁴⁴ So shall I alway keepe thy Lawe for euer and euer.

¹ My sonne, if thou wilt receiue my wordes, and hide my commandements within thee, ² And cause thine eares to hearken vnto wisdome, and encline thine heart to vnderstanding, ³ (For if thou callest after knowledge, and cryest for vnderstanding: ⁴ If thou seekest her as siluer, and searchest for her as for treasures, ⁵ Then shalt thou vnderstand the feare of the Lord, and finde the knowledge of God.

¹ My sonne, forget not thou my Lawe, but let thine heart keepe my commandements.

²² The good man shall giue inheritance vnto his childrens children: and the riches of the sinner is layde vp for the iust.

¹⁶ Seeke in the booke of the Lord, and reade: none of these shall fayle, none shall want her make: for his mouth hath commanded, and his very Spirit hath gathered them.

¹⁴ Ye are the light of the world. A citie that is set on an hill, cannot be hid. ¹⁵ Neither doe men light a candel, and put it vnder a bushel, but on a candlesticke, and it giueth light vnto all that are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good workes, and glorifie your Father which is in heauen.

³³ Then sent I for thee immediately, and thou hast well done to come. Nowe therefore are we all here present before God, to heare all things that are commanded thee of God.

¹¹ These were also more noble men then they which were at Thessalonica, which receiued the woorde with all readinesse, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

¹⁵ That ye may be blamelesse, and pure, and the sonnes of God without rebuke in the middes of a naughtie and crooked nation, among whom yee shine as lights in the world, ¹⁶ Holding forth the worde of life, that I may reioyce in the day of Christ, that I haue not runne in vaine, neither haue laboured in vaine.

¹ Wherefore, let vs also, seeing that we are compassed with so great a cloude of witnesses, cast away euery thing that presseth downe, and the sinne that hangeth so fast on: let vs runne with patience the race that is set before vs, ² Looking vnto Iesus the authour and finisher of our faith, who for the ioy that was set before him, endured the crosse, and despised the shame, and is set at the right hand of the throne of God.
