⁹ What is thy beloved more than [another] beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than [another] beloved, that thou dost so adjure us?

¹³ The king’s daughter within [the palace] is all glorious: her clothing is inwrought with gold.

³ Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah

⁸ If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents.

¹ Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither hath thy beloved turned him, that we may seek him with thee?

⁹ My dove, my undefiled, is [but] one; she is the only one of her mother; she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and called her blessed; [yea], the queens and the concubines, and they praised her. ¹⁰ Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, terrible as an army with banners?

² For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

³ But and if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that are perishing: ⁴ in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn [upon them]. ⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. ⁶ Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
