¹ How is the gold become dim! [how] is the most pure gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out at the top of every street.

⁹ And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burnt he with fire. ¹⁰ And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were [with] the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.

²¹ How is the faithful city become an harlot! she that was full of judgment! righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.

¹² How art thou fallen from heaven, O day star, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst lay low the nations!

¹⁹ Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger at the top of every street.

¹⁹ They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be as an unclean thing; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it hath been the stumblingblock of their iniquity. ²⁰ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations [and] their detestable things therein: therefore have I made it unto them as an unclean thing. ²¹ And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall profane it. ²² My face will I turn also from them, and they shall profane my secret [place]: and robbers shall enter into it, and profane it.

² But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

² And Jesus said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left here one stone upon another, which shall not be thrown down.

⁵ And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and offerings, he said, ⁶ As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
