²⁰ And so he that had received five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, Lord, thou didst deliver unto me five talents; behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

¹⁶ Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy mina has gained ten minas. ¹⁷ And he said unto him, Well done, thou good slave; because thou hast been faithful in a very little, thou shalt have authority over ten cities.

²⁴ But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear unto myself, only that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

¹⁰ But by the grace of God I am what I am; and his grace towards me was not in vain, for I laboured more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

²⁹ in which I continue to labour, contending according to his operation, which he works in me mightily.

¹ ¶ I charge thee, therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead in his appearing and in his kingdom: ² Preach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. ³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, they shall heap up unto themselves teachers who shall speak to them according to their own lusts, ⁴ and thus they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall return unto fables. ⁵ But watch thou in all things, labour, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill thy ministry. ⁶ For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my release is at hand. ⁷ I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith; ⁸ from now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all those also that have loved his appearing.

¹⁸ But someone may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.
