Deuteronomy 1:15-17

15 So I took the principals of your tribes, wise men and experts, and made them princes over you, princes over thousands and princes over hundreds and princes over fifties and princes over tens and officers among your tribes. 16 And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren and judge righteously between every man and his brother and the stranger that is with him. 17 Ye shall not respect persons in judgment, but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man, for the judgment is God’s; and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.

Psalms 80:8-16

8 ¶ Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt; thou hast cast out the Gentiles and planted it. 9 Thou didst prepare room before it and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the earth. 10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and its boughs were like the cedars of God. 11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea and her branches unto the river. 12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all those who pass by the way pluck her? 13 The boar out of the wood wastes it, and the wild beast of the field devours it. 14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of the hosts: look down from heaven and behold and visit this vine 15 and the vineyard which thy right hand has planted and the branch that thou didst make strong for thyself. 16 It is burned with fire; it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

Isaiah 5:1-4

1 ¶ Now will I sing to my well-beloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard in the horn of the sons of oil; 2 and he had fenced it and gathered out the stones thereof and planted it with the choicest vine and built a tower in the midst of it and also made a winepress therein; and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. 3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between me and my vineyard. 4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Therefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes?

Malachi 2:4-9

4 And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, said the LORD of the hosts. 5 My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear with which he feared me and was broken before my name. 6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and righteousness and turned many away from iniquity. 7 For the priest’s lips keep wisdom, and they seek the law at his mouth; for he is an angel of the LORD of the hosts. 8 But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, said the LORD of the hosts. 9 Therefore I have also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

Mark 12:1-12

1 ¶ And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard and set a hedge about it and dug a place for the winefat and built a tower and let it out to husbandmen and went far away. 2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a slave that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 And taking him, they beat him and sent him away empty. 4 And again he sent unto them another slave, and casting stones at him, they wounded him in the head and sent him away shamefully handled. 5 And again he sent another, and him they killed and many others, beating some and killing some. 6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. 7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the place shall be ours. 8 And taking hold of him, they killed him and cast him out of the vineyard. 9 What, therefore, shall the lord of the vineyard do? He shall come and destroy those husbandmen and shall give his vineyard unto others. 10 And have ye not read this scripture: The stone which the builders rejected is placed as the head of the corner; 11 This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 12 And they sought to lay hold on him but feared the multitude, for they understood that he had spoken the parable against them, and leaving him, they went away.

I will send my beloved son; it may be they will reverence him when they see him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? 16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, May it not be! 17 But he beheld them and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? 18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken, but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 19 And the princes of the priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him, for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them; but they feared the people.
