² Command the sons of Israel that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.

²⁰ ¶ And thou shalt command the sons of Israel that they bring thee olive oil, clear, crushed, for the light, to cause the lamps to burn always. ²¹ In the tabernacle of the testimony outside the veil, which shall be before the ark of the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order them from evening to morning before the LORD; it shall be a perpetual statute of the sons of Israel for their generations.

³⁷ the pure lampstand with its lamps, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all its vessels and the oil for light,

²⁴ And he put the lampstand in the tabernacle of the testimony, over against the table, on the side of the Negev of the tabernacle.

² Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the face of the lampstand. ³ And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the face of the lampstand, as the LORD commanded Moses. ⁴ And this work of the lampstand was of beaten gold, from the shaft thereof unto the flowers thereof; it was beaten work; according unto the pattern which the LORD had showed Moses, so he made the lampstand.

³ and before the lamp of God was put out, Samuel was sleeping in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was; ⁴ and the LORD called Samuel, and he answered, Here am I.

¹¹ and they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and aromatic incense, and they place the showbread upon the clean table, and the lampstand of gold with its lamps, to burn every evening; for we keep the charge of the LORD our God, but ye have forsaken him.

¹⁰⁵ ¶ NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my way.

¹³⁰ ¶ The exposition of thy words gives light; it gives understanding unto the simple.

²³ For the commandment is fire, and the law is light; and reproofs of chastening are the way of life,

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

² And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD,

¹⁶ the people who sat in darkness saw great light, and to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, light is sprung up.

¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in the heavens.

¹ ¶ Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be likened unto ten virgins who, taking their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom. ² And five of them were prudent, and five were foolish. ³ Those that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them; ⁴ but the prudent took oil in their vessels with their lamps. ⁵ While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. ⁶ And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go ye out to meet him. ⁷ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. ⁸ And the foolish said unto the prudent, Give us of your oil, for our lamps are going out.

⁷⁹ to give light to those that dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct our feet into the way of peace.

³⁵ Let your loins be girded about and your lamps burning,

⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

⁹ That Word was the true Light, which lightens every man that comes into this world.

³⁵ He was a burning and a shining light, and ye were willing to rejoice for one hour in his light.

¹² ¶ Then Jesus spoke again unto them, saying, I AM the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.

¹⁸ to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and inheritance among those who are sanctified by the faith that is in me.

⁶ For the God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts to bring forth the light of the knowledge of the clarity of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; ¹⁸ illuminating the eyes of your understanding, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints

⁸ For in another time ye were darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord: walk as children of light; ⁹ (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), ¹⁰ approving what is well pleasing unto the Lord. ¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. ¹² For it is a shame even to speak of those things which they do in secret. ¹³ But all these things when they are reproved by the light are made manifest, for the light is that which manifests everything. ¹⁴ Therefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest and arise from the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.

¹⁵ that ye may be blameless and innocent, children of God without rebuke in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world, ¹⁶ holding fast the word of life, that I may glory in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
