³ Simon Peter said unto them, I am going fishing. They said unto him, Let us also go with thee. They went forth and entered into a ship immediately, and that night they caught nothing.

¹ ¶ The sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too tight for us. ² Let us go, we pray thee, unto the Jordan, and each one take a beam from there, and let us make us a place there where we may dwell. And he answered, Go. ³ And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy slaves. And he answered, I will go. ⁴ So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down the wood. ⁵ But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water, and he cried and said, Alas, master! It was borrowed. ⁶ And the man of God said, Where did it fall? And he showed him the place. Then he cut down a stick and cast it in there and caused the iron to swim. ⁷ And he said unto him, Take it. And he put out his hand and took it.

¹⁸ ¶ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers. ¹⁹ And he said unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. ²⁰ And they straightway left their nets and followed him.

⁵ And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night and have taken nothing; nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net.

¹⁰ and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from now on thou shalt catch men. ¹¹ And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all and followed him.

³ And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them and worked, for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

³⁴ Moreover, ye yourselves know that these hands have ministered unto my necessities and to those that were with me.

⁷ So then neither is he that plants anything, neither he that waters, but God that gives the increase.

⁹ For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail, for labouring night and day, not to be a burden unto any of you, we preached among you the gospel of God.

⁷ For you know in what manner you ought to imitate us, for we did not walk disorderly among you, ⁸ neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought, but working with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, ⁹ Not because we did not have authority, but to give you an example that you might imitate us.
