³³ These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

⁵¹ Therefore David ran and stood upon the Philistine and took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and slew him and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw their giant was dead, they fled. ⁵² And the men of Israel and of Judah arose and shouted and pursued the Philistines unto the valley and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath and unto Ekron.

¹⁸ Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive; thou hast received gifts for men, yea, for the rebellious also that the LORD God might dwell among them.

⁸ ¶ I will hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace unto his people and to his saints, that they not turn again to folly. ⁹ Surely his saving health is near those that fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. ¹⁰ Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. ¹¹ Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government is placed upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called The Wonderful One, The Counsellor, The God, The Mighty One, The Eternal Father, The Prince of Peace. ⁷ The multitude of his dominion and the peace shall have no end upon the throne of David and upon his Kingdom, ordering it and confirming it in judgment and in righteousness from now on even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of the hosts will perform this.

⁵ And he shall be our peace when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then we shall raise against him seven shepherds and eight principal men.

¹⁴ Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will in man.

³⁸ saying, Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord; peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

¹ ¶ Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

³¹ Then the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} had rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria and were edified, walking in the fear of the Lord, and with the comfort of the Holy Spirit they were multiplied.

²² confirming the souls of the disciples and exhorting them to remain in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

¹¹ And the night following the Lord stood by him and said, Be of good cheer, Paul, for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou also bear witness at Rome.

²² And now I exhort you to be of good cheer, for there shall be no loss of any person’s life among you, but only of the ship.

²⁵ Therefore, sirs, be of good cheer; for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

¹ ¶ Justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Christ, ² by whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and glory in hope of the glory of the sons of God.

³⁶ (As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.) ³⁷ Nevertheless, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

³ ¶ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

⁴ Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you; I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

¹¹ ¶ For the rest, brethren, that ye may have joy, be perfected, have consolation, be of one mind, having peace; and the God of peace and charity shall be with you.

⁴ who gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

¹⁴ But in no wise should I glory, except in the cross {Gr. stauros – stake} of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

¹⁴ ¶ For he is our peace, who of both has made one, breaking down the middle wall of separation, ¹⁵ abolishing in his flesh the enmity, which was the law of commandments in the order of rites, to edify in himself the two in one new man, making peace, ¹⁶ and to reconcile both with God by the cross {Gr. stauros – stake} in one body, having slain the enmity thereby; ¹⁷ and he came and preached peace unto you who were afar off and to those that were near.

⁷ And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

²⁰ and by him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross {Gr. stauros – stake}, whether they are the things in the earth or the things in the heavens.

⁴ For even when we were with you, we told you in advance that we must pass through tribulations, even as it has come to pass, and ye know.

⁷ Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our tribulation and need by your faith;

¹⁶ ¶ Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by every means. The Lord be with you all.

¹² And all that desire to live godly in Christ Jesus shall also suffer persecution.

² to whom Abraham also gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is King of peace;

²⁵ choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season,

²⁰ Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal testament, ²¹ make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for the ages of the ages. Amen.

⁹ resist him steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are to be accomplished in the company of your brethren that are in the world.

⁴ ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

⁴ For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

²¹ To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and have sat down with my Father in his throne.

¹⁴ And I said unto him, lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are those who came out of great tribulation and have washed their long robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹¹ And they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
