⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me and understand what he would say unto me.

² I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; cause me to understand why thou dost contend with me.

²² Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and answer thou me. ²³ ¶ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.

² I know that thou canst do every thing and that there is no thought hidden from thee. ³ Who is he that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore, I have denounced that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. ⁴ Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask of thee, and thou shalt cause me to know. ⁵ With my ears I had heard thee; but now my eyes see thee. ⁶ Therefore, I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.

³ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by man’s judgment; I do not even judge my own self. ⁴ For although I have nothing on my conscience, yet am I not hereby justified, but he that judges me is the Lord.
