¹³ ¶ But if he determines something, who can turn him? His soul desired it, and he did it.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent; he said and shall he not do it? He spoke and shall he not execute it? ²⁰ Behold, I have received blessing; and he has blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

¹² Behold, he shall take away, who can cause him to restore? Who shall say unto him, What doest thou? ¹³ God will not withdraw his anger, and under him those who help, unto pride are bent over.

¹⁰ If he cuts off, or shuts up, or gathers together, then who can hinder him?

¹⁴ Behold, he shall break down, and it shall not be built again; he shall shut up a man, and no one shall be able to open unto him.

²⁹ When he gives rest, who then can make trouble? If he hides his face, who then can behold him? This applies to a nation and the same to a man,

³ But our God is in the heavens; he has made whatever he has desired.

⁶ Whatever the LORD desired, he did in the heavens and in the earth, in the seas and in all the deep places.

²¹ ¶ There are many thoughts in the heart of man; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD shall stand.

¹⁵ That which is crooked cannot be made straight, and that which is lacking cannot be numbered.

¹⁴ I have understood that whatever God does, it shall be for ever; nothing can be added to it, nor any thing taken from it because God does it that men should fear before him.

²⁴ ¶ The LORD of the hosts has sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand: ²⁵ That I will break the Assyrian in my land and upon my mountains tread him under foot; then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. ²⁶ This is the counsel that is purposed upon the whole earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the Gentiles. ²⁷ For the LORD of the hosts has purposed, and who shall disannul it? His hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

³⁵ and all the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing; and in the army of heaven and in the inhabitants of the earth, he does according to his will; nor is there anyone who can interfere with his hand and say unto him, What doest thou?

¹⁹ Thou wilt say then unto me, Why does he become angry? For who shall resist his will?

⁹ having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he has purposed in himself, ¹⁰ that in the dispensation of the fulfillment of the times he might restore all things by the Christ, both those which are in heaven and those which are on earth, ¹¹ in him in whom likewise we have obtained an inheritance, having had the way marked out beforehand according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will,

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning.
